Vanya's POV
Early in the morning, I arrived at the classroom.
The number of graduate students in this school was not large, and the finance department only had one class each year.
Those who could enter this class were either from wealthy families or had exceptional talents. None of them were ordinary individuals.
I deliberately chose a seat in the last row.
After all, as a new student, I didn't want to attract too much attention.
If Veronica knew I was studying here, with her stubborn temperament, she would definitely cause a scene at the school, which would undoubtedly bring me a lot of trouble.
"Bang!" The classroom door was kicked open with a loud noise.
A few boys sitting in the front row frowned in displeasure, about to get angry.
But when they saw who it was, they all shut their mouths.
I subconsciously raised my head and looked towards the door along with everyone else.
There stood Wilmot, dressed in a casual sports outfit, exuding an air of laziness and casualness.
Seeing him, I couldn't help but frown, my mind filled with doubts. 'How could Wilmot be here?'
I clearly remembered that he had handed in a blank sheet during the exam.
At that moment, the dean, with a smile on his face, spoke to Wilmot with particular courtesy, "Mr. Hammond, you can sit in the front. The view is better there."
Saying that, the dean even went up to Wilmot and pulled out a chair in the first row for him.
However, Wilmot ignored the dean's fuss and strode straight towards my direction, pulling the chair and sitting down next to me.
His action attracted disdainful glances from the other students around, but no one dared to show any dissatisfaction.
After all, the Hammond family's prestige in Los Angeles was very high, and no one wanted to provoke them easily.
"You're supposed to sit in the front, Mr. Hammond," I reminded him quietly.
I was well aware that this young Mr. Hammond is well-known in Los Angeles for his vindictive nature.
The last time I deliberately said those words in front of him, he must still be holding a grudge.
Wilmot responded nonchalantly, "I'll sit wherever I want."
Seeing this, the dean awkwardly laughed and left.
I scanned the classmates around me and wondered which tutor would be "unlucky" enough to face us, a group of difficult rich guys.
I couldn't help but be curious about who this tutor would be.
Before long, a familiar shouting sound came from the door, "Late, late, damn it!"
Then Derrick rushed into the classroom in a fluster.
Seeing it was him, my slight expectation instantly vanished, and I shook my head helplessly.
Derrick pushed his glasses, which had no lenses, and pretended to be calm, "Sorry, it's my first time being a teacher, no experience."
"Hey, your glasses have no lenses," someone shouted, causing laughter around.
Derrick was well-connected in this circle, with many friends, and many people present had a good relationship with him.
I rubbed my brow, sighing inwardly.
Given the situation, it seemed unlikely that I would learn any profound new knowledge here.
However, I never expected to make any outstanding academic achievements here. My purpose for coming here was to add a chip to my future control of the Dalton family.
"Don't make a fuss. I'm a substitute teacher today. Your tutor is very busy. I'll come when he's busy, and he'll come when he's not," Derrick explained.
My first thought was of Theodore.
But then I thought, Theodore, who is involved in those shady businesses, how could he come to school to teach?
"Do you want to know who he's talking about?"
Wilmot, sitting next to me, suddenly spoke, interrupting my thoughts.
Seeing the mysterious Wilmot, I coldly replied, "I don't want to know."
This answer seemed to surprise Wilmot.
"You don't want to know?"
"No interest."
No matter who taught, I just needed to be a quiet good student and graduate smoothly.
"Then do you know who I am?"
"Wilmot Hammond, the dean just called you so."
"And you dare to speak to me in this tone?"
I turned my head and looked at Wilmot seriously, "Excuse me, class is in session now."
Wilmot's eyes were full of curiosity. He was about to lean closer to me and continue talking.
Derrick at the podium pushed his glasses and pointed to Wilmot in the back, saying, "Hey you! Don't flirt with female students during class!"
Wilmot frowned in dissatisfaction, but when he looked at Derrick, he surprisingly did not get angry.
Everyone tacitly understood that Wolfe was not a paper tiger. Knowing that this group of young masters and ladies was challenging to manage by ordinary tutors, they especially found Derrick, a more evil person with a background.
It should be noted that behind Derrick is Theodore.
