Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 49

Ch. 49 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

Melinda's POV

Today, when coming to the second teaching building for class, I deliberately took a few extra steps in that direction.

I had put in a lot of effort in preparing for the postgraduate entrance exam and was well-acquainted with the daily schedule of the graduate students at Wolfe.

I knew the graduate students would be having classes here these days.

"Melinda, our classroom is upstairs. Come here," Raven said, tugging at my arm and urging me to hurry.

I hesitated and then said, "You guys go ahead. I'll be there in a bit."

"You've been having Fawn sign you in for the past few days. What if the teacher doesn't pass you because of this?" Raven looked at me worriedly.

"You can trust me. I won't fail," I said with confidence in the professional knowledge I had mastered. I had this confidence and courage.

"Alright, I'm going up then," Raven said helplessly, then turned and walked upstairs.

Seeing no one was paying attention to me, I walked towards the corridor.

I was thinking about checking if Vanya was really in this classroom.

My heart was filled with both anticipation and fear of seeing her sitting inside, a complex and contradictory feeling that was hard to put into words.

Sure enough, not far away, I saw Vanya sitting in the last row through the classroom window.

At that moment, my heart tightened. Vanya was really here.

In an instant, the feeling of jealousy in my heart grew wildly like weeds, almost overwhelming me.

This classroom was a place I had longed to enter, and I had made so much effort for it.

But Vanya had this opportunity so easily. How could I be willing to accept that?

Somehow, with these thoughts in my mind, my hand reached out uncontrollably and pushed open the door.

This sudden movement immediately attracted the attention of everyone in the classroom.

They all looked over in my direction.

Derrick, standing at the podium, also turned to look at me, and I could see a hint of confusion in his eyes, as if he found me somewhat familiar.

I recognized him right away. He was the man who had helped Vanya at the auction.

"Excuse me, which class are you from?" Derrick asked with a puzzled look.

At this moment, Vanya also noticed me standing at the door.

I snapped back to reality and was startled by my own actions. My heart was flustered and panicked, and I stammered, "I'm sorry. I've entered the wrong room."

After saying that, I quickly reached out and closed the door.

The moment the door was closed, I felt my heart pounding as if it would jump out of my throat, "thump, thump, thump," beating incessantly.

The tutor standing on the podium was none other than Derrick, the Alpha of the Blackthorn Pack!

I had met him before, but Derrick didn't remember me at all.

'In the eyes of these powerful and influential werewolves, am I so insignificant and unremarkable?'

The classroom erupted into laughter at this moment, and the sound seemed to mock me with each chuckle, making my face burn with embarrassment.

I couldn't stay any longer, turned around and ran away with a face full of shame and anger, feeling both wronged and sad inside.

Tears welled up in my eyes, but I stubbornly refused to let them fall.

Vanya's POV

Inside the classroom, I was well aware that Melinda's entering the classroom was not as simple as accidentally walking into the wrong room.

However, my thoughts had already drifted elsewhere.

I was full of doubts. Although I had the opportunity to be reborn, it seemed that the trajectory of my destiny in this life was deviating in a direction I had not anticipated.

This feeling of being out of control made me a bit uneasy.

"Vanya!" Derrick suddenly called my name from the podium after a while.

I snapped back to reality and asked, "What's up?"

"Class is over." Derrick looked at me helplessly.

I quickly scanned the surroundings and realized that the classroom was already empty.

"Goodbye, Mr. Simpson," I stood up, preparing to leave.

Derrick stopped me, took out a box of medicine from his pocket, and handed it to me. "This is a special medicine, more effective than the ones in the drawer."

"You're giving this to me?" I was a bit surprised.

"Cliff asked for leave for you, and I happened to have this box of medicine with me. Aren't you sick? Hurry up and take it," Derrick's unnatural expression and stiff tone made it clear that he was lying.

I knew in my heart that this box of medicine, without a doubt, must have been prepared by Theodore.

As the sky darkened, I walked out of the gate of Wolfe.

My classmate, Beata Steele, suddenly ran up from behind and patted me on the shoulder. "Hey!"

Beata looked a bit older than me, and she was very beautiful. Her temperament and attire indicated a wealthy family background.

I was startled by her sudden action and asked after a moment of surprise, "What can I do for you?"

"You're Vanya, right? I know you. Want to hang out tonight?" Beata said with a smile.

I was about to refuse her when I inadvertently caught sight of a black convertible parked not far away.

I had seen this car before, and I immediately guessed a few things in my heart.
