Between Four of Us

Chapter 90

Ch. 90 / 250 Jun 22, 2025

The days in their new home were peaceful, a comforting rhythm gradually settling over Camille, Noah, Leo, and Matthew. The new place was everything they had hoped for—a fresh start, a space to heal and find joy again. Camille had begun to feel lighter, like she could breathe a bit easier. She was grateful for the love and support of the three men who had become her family, and slowly, they were building new memories together.

One evening, Leo came up with an idea. “We should take you out, Camille,” he said, his voice filled with excitement as he found her in the kitchen. “Like, a real date. All three of us. You deserve a special night.”

Camille looked at him, a bit surprised. “A date with all three of you?”

Noah joined them, leaning against the counter with a smile. “He’s right. We’ve been through a lot together, and we haven’t really had a chance to celebrate… well, life. You’ve been our anchor, Camille. Let us treat you.”

Matthew, always the quiet one, nodded in agreement. “A night just for you, to show you how much you mean to us. We’re long overdue.”

Camille’s cheeks warmed as she looked from one to the other, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. “Well, I’d love that. But you don’t all have to go out of your way just for me…”

“No arguments,” Leo said, his eyes sparkling. “We’re taking you out, and that’s that. Wear something nice. We’ll pick you up at seven.”

Camille couldn’t help but laugh, the enthusiasm infectious. She hadn’t gone out in so long, and the idea of spending a night out with them filled her with a giddy anticipation. When the evening arrived, she found herself carefully choosing an outfit, her heart fluttering as she considered the unexpected “date” they had planned.

At seven on the dot, she walked down the stairs to find all three of them waiting, each dressed sharply. Leo whistled, grinning as she approached. “Wow, Camille. You look amazing.”

Noah offered his arm, smiling warmly. “Ready for an unforgettable night?”

She took his arm, her heart racing as they led her out to the car, the energy between them light and playful. They took her to a charming little restaurant nestled by a lake, where the view of the sunset reflected off the water, casting a warm glow over everything. They had chosen a private corner, and as they settled in, Camille felt a warmth settle in her chest.

Over dinner, they laughed, shared stories, and relaxed, each of them soaking up the rare chance to unwind. The night was filled with lighthearted moments, with Leo cracking jokes, Matthew offering his dry humor, and Noah sharing memories that had all of them laughing. But as the evening went on, Camille began to notice a quiet intensity in their expressions, a look in each of their eyes that she couldn’t quite place.

After dinner, they decided to take a walk along the lake, the cool night air brushing gently against them as they strolled in silence for a moment. Finally, Leo cleared his throat, breaking the quiet.

“Camille, there’s something I need to say.” His voice was softer, his usual playful demeanor gone, replaced with a seriousness that took her by surprise. He stopped walking, turning to face her, and she noticed the way his gaze held hers, sincere and unwavering.

“I don’t know how to say this without sounding… well, sappy,” he began, his cheeks flushing slightly, “but being with you these past months… you’ve shown me what it means to really care about someone. You’re the strongest, most incredible person I’ve ever known, and somewhere along the way, I realized I want to be by your side. Not just as a friend, but… more.”

Camille’s heart skipped a beat, her cheeks warming as she processed his words. Before she could respond, Noah stepped forward, his expression gentle but serious.

“Camille, I feel the same way,” he said quietly, his hand reaching out to hold hers. “You’ve been my rock, my strength. Watching you go through everything and come out stronger… I can’t help but admire you, love you for everything you are. I want to be part of your life in every way I can. I want to be there for you, to share everything with you.”

Camille’s breath caught in her throat, her mind reeling. She looked at them, her heart pounding as their words sank in. But before she could find her voice, Matthew cleared his throat, stepping forward with a look of quiet determination.

“I know I’m not the type to speak openly about my feelings,” he said, his voice low but firm. “But Camille, you’ve changed my life. You’ve given me a purpose, a reason to open my heart. I never thought I’d find someone who could make me feel this way, but here you are. I want to stand by you, to build a future with you, if you’ll have me.”

Camille stared at them, her mind spinning as she took in the confessions that had just been laid before her. She had known, in her heart, how much they each meant to her, but she had never expected this—never imagined that they would each feel this way about her.

Her voice came out as a whisper, filled with wonder and disbelief. “You… all of you… feel this way? About me?”

Leo nodded, a soft smile on his face. “Camille, you’re not just part of our lives. You’re at the heart of it. We’re here because of you, and we’re here for you. Each of us has come to care about you deeply, in ways that go beyond friendship.”

Noah gave her hand a gentle squeeze, his eyes reflecting the depth of his emotions. “We know this is a lot to take in, and we don’t want to make you feel pressured. But we wanted you to know the truth. You deserve to know how much you mean to us.”

Matthew, his gaze steady, added quietly, “Whatever you decide, we’re here for you, Camille. That won’t change.”

Camille looked from one to the other, her heart overflowing with a mixture of emotions—shock, joy, confusion, and, somewhere deep down, a sense of warmth that had been growing for each of them. She had leaned on them, trusted them, and found strength in their love and support, but she had never considered the possibility of their feelings extending beyond friendship.

Her voice trembled as she whispered, “I… I don’t know what to say.”

Leo chuckled softly, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. “You don’t have to say anything right now, Camille. Just know that we’re here, that our feelings are real. Whatever you need, whatever you decide… we’re not going anywhere.”
