I will Restore you to your Rightful Place
After Julia reported the strange caller to Jason, he quickly tasked one of his best men to look into it. He was feeding the baby while Julia slept when his phone buzzed with the findings of the stranger caller. Jane Wellington was the name in the report. The report had details of her being held hostage at Benjamin Taga's dungeon accompanied by images and another image of her with Mr Wellington.
Jason remembered the name of the lady Mr Wellington had told him was his mother and he quickly followed it up with the news of her death and even visited her grave with him. What bothers Jason is the fact that Mr Wellington didn't tell him his mother was still alive when he found her. He started packing their stuff. He had multiple questions on his mind that needed answers. First, why did his father hide that from him and secondly why was his mother contacting Julia?
"Son, I am sorry for not letting you know your mother was still alive," Mr Wellington said and drew closer to Jason, and also sat down on the sofa.
"And what was your reason?" Jason asked with a frown.
"She hurt me and this family badly. I couldn't forgive her," Mr Wellington said not ready to share the details.
"I see," Jason said already concluding Mr Wellington was not ready to share his reasons with him.
"How did you find out?" Mr Wellington asked curiously just to know if the information landed on Jason's lap unexpectedly, or if Jason was monitoring everyone, or if it was just Dr Andesh who had become old.
"She kept calling my wife," Jason replied after a while, and Mr Wellington frowned.
"Yes, some things can never be hidden. So you don't try," Jason said pointing out that the truth can never be hidden.
"I am sorry, Jason," Mr Wellington apologized.
"That is fine. She is your wife. If you don't want her any more, that is your decision. I am a son to both of you and I will at least like to see my mother. I came to look for you not to bring you into my life but just to know where I come from. I am going to do the same with my mother. I want to meet her," Jason said calmly
Mr Wellington wasn't happy but had no choice as it was Jason's right to see his mother if he wanted to. His mistake was failing to tell Jason about his mother when he found out she was still alive and kept acting like she was still dead. Mr Wellington sighed and retrieved his phone from his pocket. He dialled Dr Andesh's number and placed the phone to his ears.
"Hello, Dr Andesh. I would like to arrange for Jane to come over to my apartment tonight," Mr Wellington said and Dr Andesh acknowledged without asking questions.
"You will see her tonight," Mr Wellington said to Jason once he ended the call with Dr Andesh and Jason just nodded.
From Mr Wellington's office, Jason went to his office and decided to work. He knew he had to explain things to Julia. He was so angry in the morning and hence didn't pay attention to how his actions were affecting her.
At another location in Florida, Jane has just entered the bedroom from the bathroom. She was getting ready for an interview. She was trying to get herself a job. Her phone rang and it was Dr Andesh's name that flashed on her screen. She quickly answered and brought the phone to her ears.
"Hello?" Jane said.
"Mr Wellington, would like to see you tonight at the family apartment. Would you come on your own or you like to be picked up?" Dr Andesh went straight to the point.
"It's been a while. I have lost my bearings. Please have someone pick me up," Jane said with a smile at the thought of enjoying that VIP ride.
"Sure. Send me your address and I will have someone pick you up at 6 p.m.," Dr Andesh said and ended the call.,
Jane quickly called Maria.
"Maria, guess what happened?" Jane squealed with joy, jumping all around the room like a sixteen-year-old.
"I know, you are visiting your husband tonight?" Maria said and Jane stopped jumping as she wondered how Maria already knew, but her excitement remained beneath the surface.
"Some places in the house are bugged and hence depending on where you stood while receiving your call, I will hear a thing or two," Maria said and Jane scarned her room.
"What?" Jane reacted as her eyes went round the room.
"Just kidding. Gosh, you are so easy to fool," Maria teased to make her statement sound like a joke, but she did have the house bugged. "It was a lucky guess. That was the motive behind the calls to Julia. It was for Jason to find out about you being alive, and when he does, from what Mrs Haward had told me about Jason, he would want to meet you. Play your part well and you will win him over," Maria said.
"You are in communication with Jason's stepmother? That witch?" Jane asked.
"Huh! Look at the pot calling the kettle black," Maria passed a comment and Jane smiled at her comment.
"What does that mean?" Jane asked curiously.
"It's a proverbial idiom that may be of Spanish origin, which simply means hypocrisy," Maria explained.
"Well, I didn't kill my husband to get what I want," Jane said upon hearing Maria's explanation.
"Jane, let's not go down that road. I made a promise to you and I intend to keep it. I will restore you to your rightful place. If it will mean getting Mrs Haward and her son out of jail, so be it. That woman, Mrs Haward, knows your son like the back of her teeth and can get him to do whatever she wants," Maria said.
"I see. So how did Jason put them in prison again?" Jane asked feeling Maria was putting too much trust in the messed up Haward family.
"Your husband supported Jason, and most of the plans were executed by him. Left to Jason alone, James and his mother will still be walking free. Trust me," Maria said.
"Okay," Jane said. "I have to go get ready for tonight," she added and ended the call.
Jane admired herself in the mirror before finding some casual dress to wear and picking a gown for the evening. She went ahead to pick up some accessories to go with it.
Back at the Haward's company, Mirenda was almost done with her job for the day as it was getting to 6 p.m. She waited for the reports for the day to go through them and she will call it a day. Fiona used ill health as an excuse and left the company early to go visit her daughter Lily. The day slowly passed and Jason decided he would handle Julia later, so he went straight to Mr Wellington's home after informing Julia she would be home late.
The two gentlemen arrived at the mansion in their separate cars. They both got down and went inside the house to wait for Jane's arrival. After what seems like forever, a servant came to inform Mr Wellington, that Jane Wellington has arrived. The front door was opened and Jane walked in wearing a simple red gown which was up to the ankle and it glitters. There was a split on the left thigh up to half of her thigh, and she was on a six-inch heel. She had her long hair wrapped exposing her beautiful neck. She took her time and walked to the living room like a supermodel. Her ears glittered from the diamond stones on her ears. Her neck was adorned with a simple diamond necklace. Mr Wellington stared at her for a while. She was beautiful. She was 51 and she was still amazing like a flower that had just blossomed.
"Good evening," her calm voice resonated in the living room.
"Jason, meet your mother, Jane Wellington and Jane, meet your son, Jason. Now a successful full-grown man," Mr Wellington introduced and Jason accepted a handshake from Jane.
The trio sat down and tea was quickly served. Dr Andesh walked in after five minutes and waited at her usual making sure she didn't miss any detail of the conversation going on between the three inside the living room.
