Haward's International Business Faces Bankruptcy
"What? What are you talking about? Who is Jason's mother?" Dr Andesh asked and pressed a button under her desk.
"It's an interesting story, but unfortunately, your people will start coming in and I don't want too many dead people in this room," Jane said and set the gun.
"If you are going to kill me, at least tell me who Jason's mother is?" Dr Andesh said and Jane smiled.
"The nanny who took him to the park and he got kidnapped," Jane replied with a smile, and Dr Andesh raised an eyebrow wondering how but before she could ask another question hoping to buy time for someone to come in, Jane pulled the trigger.
Dr Andesh fell to the ground. Jane walked over to look at her lying on the floor behind the desk.
"You are Mr Wellington's right-hand person. You will make trouble with everything you know if I don't clear you," Jane said and pulled the trigger putting a bullet into Dr Andesh's chest.
She walked out of the room and closed the door. She heard footsteps and she exited the place going in the opposite direction of the footsteps approaching, exiting the hall. She paused behind the hallway and stuck her head out to see who was in the hallway. She saw two officers enter Dr Andesh's office. She rolled her eyes.
"So she called the police," Jane whispered to herself. "Well, at least, they will put her in a fridge before she starts stinking up the place," she added and walked down the hallway covering her head with a scarf.
She used the staircase to the ground floor knowing they would lock down the place and all the elevators would be shut down. She looked out for the cameras and avoided them on her way out.
At Jason's apartment, Julia was all dressed up ready to leave for work and Jason was also dressed up ready to head for the Wellington company. Jason's phone buzzed and he answered it. It was Mirenda.
"Hello," Jason said.
"Jason, have you seen the news this morning?" Mirenda asked.
"What is happening?" Jason asked calmly.
"One Jane Wellington has taken over Mr Wellington's fortune. Should we be worried?" Mirenda asked.
"No, that is my mother?" Jason announced.
"You found your mother? I thought she was. I mean, you know. Dead," Mirenda said.
"Yeah, long story. I will tell you later," Jason said and ended the call, but wondered why his father would hand over his fortune to his wife and make a public announcement about it without talking to him about it first.
He dialled his father's number and the call went straight to voicemail.
"I am ready, we can go now," Julia entered the bedroom from the closet and announced.
She went silent seeing Jason was trying to make a call. Jason dialled his father's number again and the results were the same. He dialled Mr Wellington's senior bodyguard's number and that went through.
"Hello sir," came the guard's voice.
"Where is my father?" Jason asked.
"Sir, at the hospital, sir," the guard replied and Jason frowned.
"What happened?" Jason asked.
"Sir, we don't know yet but Dr Andesh is attending to him," the guard replied.
"Is Mrs Wellington there with you?" Jason asked.
"She left with Dr Andesh and she had not returned to the waiting area," the guard replied.
"Okay," Jason ended the call and dialled Dr Andesh's number.
It rang multiple times but no one answered. Jason frowned and tried again. He knew Dr Andesh all too well. She will text you if she can't answer the call but this time she didn't text and didn't answer. He tried again and the results were the same. He felt there was something wrong and he decided to go find out.
"Julia, I have to go to the hospital. My dad is not feeling too good," Jason informed Julia and the expression on her face changed.
"Oh, what is wrong with him?" Julia asked with concern.
"I don't know yet. I am going there to find out," Jason replied with concern written on his face.
"I want to come with you," Julia said.
"You go to work. I told Mirenda you were coming, she will be expecting you. You can come over to the hospital after," Jason said and Julia nodded.
They both exited the bedroom and exited the apartment, each with a different destination on their mind. Julia sat in a different car with two guards and another car followed her with four guards. Jason sat in his car with two guards. The three cars drove out of the compound. Two cars went in one direction and Jason's car headed for Dr Andesh's hospital.
At Haward's International, Mirenda settled down behind her desk. She had just arrived at her office when Henry called her about the news. She quickly called Jason about it but with the reply from Jason, she was now all relaxed. She knew Julia was returning to the company and she was excited about it. She turned on her laptop and started her work for the day.
At Dr Andesh's hospital, Jason's car drove into the compound. He got out of the car and used his usual route to avoid the media attention since he had very few guards with him. He went straight to Dr Andesh's office and found some officers in her hallway.
"What is going on?" Jason asked.
"Dr Andesh had just been shot," the officer informed him knowing who Jason was and Jason frowned immediately.
"When and by whom?" Jason asked shocked by the news.
"We don't know yet, but her body has been moved. We don't want to alarm the workers here yet. We are sure whoever shot her is still in the building," the officer replied.
"Have you checked the CCTV footage?" Jason asked.
"First thing we did but they have all been wiped clean," the officer replied and Jason's frown deepened.
"Is she still alive?" Jason asked.
"We don't know. She has two bullet wounds in her chest region," the officer replied.
"So where is she?" Jason asked.
"We have moved her out of this premises to another hospital. We are just waiting to hear what the doctor will say," the officer replied and Jason nodded.
He moved from the place wondering where his father was. He went upstairs to the private floor and checked the rooms up there but his father was not there. His mind quickly remembered some details from what the guard had said.
"Maybe he is in the emergency," he thought and headed for the emergency at the private floor side.
He pushed the door open and found his father lying on the bed surrounded by four doctors.
"Sir, you can't...." the doctor began and paused recognizing Jason.
"What is wrong with him," Jason asked.
"We don't know. All the tests conducted showed nothing. Dr Andesh is speaking with the woman who brought him in to find out what happened. Hoping that will help with some answers," the doctor said to Jason.
He remembered immediately, the day Jane was brought to the hospital, aside from flashing the chemical she had consumed out of her system, to date Dr Andesh had not been able to identify the composition of that chemical.
"Jane taking over Mr Wellington's fortune. My father is in a hospital not waking up and the doctors can't tell what is wrong with him. Dr Andesh has been shot," Jason thought. "Oh no, Julia," he thought, exited the emergency and retrieved his phone dialling Julia's number.
Meanwhile, at Haward's International, Mirenda was behind her desk when the finance manager walked me.
"We have a problem ma'am. The company is running bankrupt?" he announced and Mirenda frowned.
"How?" Mirenda asked.
"Our business partners are pulling out. We have ten partners, six of them just pulled out," he reported.
"What is their reason?" Mirenda asked.
"They said, they have been asked to cancel their partnership deal with us or face being banned," the finance manager reported. At least, that is what one of the partners disclosed to me later, alone," he added.
"This kind of order can only come from Wellington's head officer," Mirenda thought after processing what the man had said.
"The news," she whispered and quickly searched for her phone to call Jason. "Make sure the remaining four do not pull out," she instructed and the financial manager left.
In the garage, Julia's car had just driven in. She got out of the car and headed for the elevator with two guards.
"Hello, Julia?" came a familiar voice and Julia turned to see a strange man with eight guards, all dressed in black.
"And you are?" Julia asked with a frown.
"You don't recognise me?" James said and Julia just stared at him wondering who he was.
"I promised you, I will find you when I have power?" James said and Julia gasped with shock.
"James," she whispered his name.
"You got it right?" James said with a wink. "Take her," he ordered and his guards moved in.
Julia went behind her guards and headed for the elevator but James caught up with her. Her guards were outnumbered by that of James. Julia's phone began to ring and James pulled it out of her bag as he pointed a gun at Julia.
"Hello brother, did you miss me?" James asked.
"James," Jason mentioned his name. "Let her go, am the one you want," he said.
"Hmmm, last I checked, I am into women, not men," James said staring at Julia who seemed very calm.
Julia's guards were all lying on the floor with guns pointing at them.
