Jane Wellington taking over Wellington Fortune
Mr Wellington's home, 5 a.m, Jane screamed and her scream was followed by crying. One of Mr Wellington's guards who was inside the house rushed upstairs and knocked on Mr Wellington's door.
"Sir, ma'am, are you alright?" he asked knocking on the door. "I am coming in," he announced and pushed the door open.
He froze as soon as he entered. Mr Wellington was lying on the bed motionless. Jane was sitting on the side shaking his body which was unresponsive to her.
"What happened?" the guard asked drawing closer to the bed.
"I don't know," Jane cried still shaking Mr Wellington's body. "I just woke up a while ago to use the bathroom. I returned to bed and found him like this when I tried to nestle into his arms," she informed the guard.
"I am calling Dr Andesh," the guard announced and retrieved his phone from his pocket immediately.
"Hello Dr Andesh, something is wrong with the boss," he said as soon as the call connected.
"He is not moving. He looks," the guard said and paused for ten seconds before he continued, "dead," he completed his statement.
"He is not dead. Don't let me hear you say that," Jane yelled at the guard, her face covered with tears.
"My love, please wake up. Wake up," Jane said softly with her head on Mr Wellington's chest as she continued to cry.
The guard stood there staring at the scene before him wondering what happened. Mr Wellington had returned home very strong. So what happened to him? This was the thought running through the guard's mind. He heard the ambulance and quickly exited the room knowing it was Dr Andesh.
"Where is he?" Dr Andesh asked and the guard led him up the staircase to Mr Wellington's room with a couple of paramedics following them.
Jane was still crying over Mr Wellington when Dr Andesh and the team walked in.
"What happened?" Dr Andesh asked pulling Jane off the bed so the paramedics could attend to Mr Wellington.
"I don't know. I only went to the washroom a few minutes ago and returned to find him like this," Jane narrated still crying her eyes out.
"Perchance, did you notice anything strange when you got up to use the washroom?" Dr Andesh asked as Jane cried in her arms.
"No, I don't know. I only got down not paying attention to him. I wanted to cuddle with him and that was when I noticed there was something wrong with him," Jane said crying.
"What is wrong with him?" she asked. "Please I can't lose him," she added.
"He has a pulse but is very weak," one of the paramedics reported to Dr Andesh as they moved Mr Wellington onto the stretcher they had brought in.
"Let's take him to the hospital quickly," Dr Andesh said and the paramedics took him out of the room.
"I want to come with you," Jane said and Dr Andesh just nodded.
"You need to change first," Dr Andesh said and Jane grabbed a robe to cover her lingering.
"No, changed the clothes completely," Dr Andesh said and headed for the closet.
Dr Andesh grabbed some clothes for Jane and she changed into them. They both exited the room and went downstairs. The guard stayed behind wondering what he could do.
"Don't call Jason about this yet. I will call him myself," Dr Andesh said to the guard before she exited the apartment with Jane.
Dr Andesh got behind the wheel and they were out of the house and heading towards the hospital.
"First it was Jane, trying to take her life because she felt rejected and now it's Mr Wellington. What is going on?" Dr Andesh thought praying silently in her mind nothing would happen to Mr Wellington.
They arrived at the hospital and she left Jane at the waiting area as she went in to find out what was wrong with Mr Wellington. They run multiple tests on him and all the results did not reveal what was wrong with him yet he would not get up. Dr Andesh exited the emergency room and called Jane to her office.
"What is going on?" Dr Andesh snapped. "To date, we can't tell what kind of chemical you attempted to take your life with and now Mr Wellington is lying there. Not dead, yet not alive and we can't tell what is wrong with him. What is going on Jane?" she questioned angrily.
"I don't understand what you mean. I woke up and found him like that," Jane replied staring at Dr Andesh with tears in her eyes acting innocent.
"Let me tell you one thing," Dr Andesh said her voice shimmering with anger. "I don't trust you. The only reason why I stayed away and kept quiet was because Mr Wellington asked me to," she snapped.
"I didn't do anything," Jane barked. "Why are you blaming me for his condition?" she questioned.
"If you plotted your own son's kidnapped, and faked your death only to end up hiding in Mr Taga's basement for twenty-four years, you are capable of anything Jane, and FYI. I have never trusted you. Do you know why?" Dr Andesh asked squinting her eyes, and Jane just stared at her looking all pitiful.
"The day you were rushed out of the house to the hospital where you were pronounced dead. I noticed something. All the tests ran on you revealed nothing. No one could tell what was wrong with you. And twenty-four years later, you attempted suicide with a chemical whose composition we could not tell, and now, a couple of days around your husband and he is in a state we can't tell what is wrong with him. And all his results are saying nothing about his condition just like in your case twenty-four years ago," Dr Andesh pointed out and Jane frowned.
"You were always my problem," Jane said, pulled a gun out of her pocket and aimed at Dr Andesh who stood there unfazed.
"If you kill me here, Jason is going to find you and take care of you," Dr Andesh barked.
"How will Jason take care of me, when I am the one in power?" Jane said and shifted her gaze to the TV. "It's a good thing you have a TV that works here," she said with a sinister smile and looked at her watch.
It was 6 a.m., she turned on the TV and the breaking news had already started airing.
"News reaching us has it that Jane Wellington is Alive and she is taking over the Wellington Fortune," the new caster said and Dr Andesh's eyes widened.
"What did you do, Jane?" she questioned.
"I just took back what belongs to me. My sacrifice gave birth to the Wellington fortune," Jane replied still aiming the gun at Dr Andesh. "Well, too bad you will not be around to see how I will deal with Jason," she added.
"Your child?" Dr Andesh questioned.
"I was never pregnant. I can't have children," Jane blurted out.
