On the Run
Jason dropped his gun to the floor and put up his hand in surrender. James smiled and tried to stand still with his gun aimed at Julia. He knew that was his only way of keeping Jason from attacking him. He saw just now how skilful Jason had become since he last saw him. Jason was already skilful in combat and realized he also had a perfect aim. He gunned down four men delivering a bullet into each person's skull.
"Now listen carefully. Kick that gun to me," James instructed and Jason did just that.
James stopped the gun with his feet and quickly picked it up.
"Now, you are going to take a step back and keep going until I say stop," James instructed. "Keep your hands where I can see them," he added and Jason obeyed walking backwards but he kept his gaze on Julia.
"Good, you are doing fine," James said, briefly looking at his wounded shoulder.
With the gun Jason had pushed to him, he shot the legs of the chair at the joint and broke it wounding Julia in the process. It was easy to kick off the broken pieces of the wooden chair leaving Julia still tied up in the leg and her hands tied up behind her. He put the gun in his other hand and lifted Julia from the floor with his good hand. With his hand wrapped around her waist and the gun in his wounded hand still aimed at Julia, he dragged her backwards towards the exit. Jason stood there watching thinking of what to do. James got to the door and saw what Jason had done. He lifted the bar and allowed in some of his guards.
"Get him and tie him up too and let's go," James ordered and the guards moved in from different lanes of the shelves.
They appeared in the open space and there was no Jason.
Outside, one of the guards carried Julia on his shoulder and James went with him to the car.
Inside the warehouse. Jason knew he needed to follow them but now six guards were looking for him. He climbed one of the shelves and was lying on the shelve. He waited for the guards to separate, each taking a lane of shelve. He got down and attacked the first person. Without wasting time, he broke his neck on his next move and quickly climbed up to the top of the shelve. Two guards walked to that lane and found their friend lying down dead.
"We need to be careful. Keep your eyes open and your ears on the ground," one of the guards said and they moved to the opposite lane.
Jason waited for the guard to be alone and he climbed back down landing behind the guard. The guard heard the nose he turned around and Jason kicked the gun from his hand catching it in the air. He quickly aimed at the guard and delivered a bullet into his head and quickly turned around to deliver two bullets into the shoulder and head of the other guard who showed his face behind Jason from the opposite lane. Jason threw the gun away and went under the shelve.
"Check the top of the shelves," shouted one guard.
A guard stood close to the shelve where Jason was hiding. Jason pulled the knife from the holder on the guard's trousers around his ankle and stabbed the guard's feet with it. When the guard dropped to the ground out of the pain, he removed the knife and drove it straight into his neck. He then moved from under the shelves. The moment Jason stood up the remaining two guards approached him from opposite direction. Jason stood in the middle his gaze alternating between the two guards, one coming towards him from the left and the other from the right each aiming a gun at him.
"One move and I will shoot," threatened the guard as they slowly closed in on him.
Jason stood there calmly watching them close the gap. He knew immediately James had instructed them to bring him alive. He smiled and watched them get close knowing they would not shoot to kill him.
"Put your hands where I can see it," the guard ordered as he was close.
"Let's wound him," said the other guard who followed his words by pulling the trigger.
The guard delivered a bullet into Jason's right leg causing him to drop to the floor on one knee. The other guard got to him at the same time. Jason, despite the pain he was feeling in his leg, quickly pulled the gun from the guard, hit his jaw and leaned backwards before shooting the guard on his left. The guard dropped to the ground and Jason turned the gun to the guard on his right and shot him right in between his leg. Jason tore a part of the shirt he was wearing, tied his wounded leg with it and started dragging himself towards the exit. The moment he exited the warehouse, he heard the loud sirens of police cars. James had left with Julia and they were now coming. He frowned and leapt through the huge compound towards the main gate.
"We got here as soon as we could," the general informed Jason and helped him towards the gate.
"You have some mess inside the warehouse to clean. My brother is on the run. He left with my wife," Jason reported and some officers with guards went into the warehouse.
Outside the gate were parked police cars. Henry came up to meet Jason.
"We have to get this wound treated immediately," Henry said.
"Where is the tracker," Jason asked as he leaned on one of the parked cars.
Henry handed him the tracker. Jason checked the tracker, Julia was on the main road.
"He is not far away from us," Jason said and the general got closer to Jason.
"This is where they are," Jason showed him the tracker.
"Perfect, we have a tracker on the car," the general said. "Let's go," he ordered and Jason got into the car.
The general sat in his car and followed Jason's car which took the lead.
Inside the tainted car driving on the highway. James's shoulder was bleeding. He fetched his phone and called Fiona.
"Hello love," James said and Julia rolled her eyes even though she had her face covered.
"Are you at work or home?" he asked.
"I am at home," Fiona replied.
"Get the baby. I will send you an address. Come quickly and make sure no one is following you," James instructed and ended the call.
He quickly dialled Black's number and waited for him to answer.
"Hello, I am ready," James said and ended the call.
He shifted his gaze to Julia.
"How did he find you?" James questioned but Julia remained silent.
"I am asking you a question. Answer me, damnit," James yelled and landed a blow to Julia's cheek but he quickly frowned regretting it immediately.
He was wounded in that shoulder. Aside from the fact that he was in pain, Julia sustained a cut on her lip and that side of her cheek turned red.
"I don't know," Julia replied as she tasted blood in her mouth.
"You are just in your underwear so where the heck do you have the tracker?" James questioned and examined Julia with his right hand.
He ran his hand through her hair and moved towards her body. Julia started withdrawing to stop him from exploring her body with his hand.
"Where is the tracker?" James barked and unhooked her bra.
"Stop it. I don't have a tracker on me," Julia replied feeling uncomfortable with James stripping her of her underwear.
He moved his hand towards his panty and Julia bent over trapping his hand. He picked up the gun with his left hand and pressed the nozzle to Julia's hand.
"Sit up," he ordered and Julia just obeyed.
He knew Julia had a baby, yet her body was beautiful. Her belly was no longer flat like before but it was also not big. She was still gorgeous. He slipped his hand into her panty and a tear fell from Julia's eyes. She just waited for the harassment James was going to subject her to, but his hand stopped and he withdrew his hand. Julia was glad but was also curious why James stopped.
"Is Jason here?" Julia thought but was surprised by what James said.
"Stop the car," James ordered and the driver moved the car to the shoulder of the road and parked.
"You may not believe me, but I will say it anyway," James said.
"Sir, we can't stay here for long," the driver warned.
"Shut up," James yelled at him. " Come and untie her," he ordered and a guard got down from the front wondering what was wrong with James.
He opened the back seat and began to untie the rope around Julia's hand after taking the sack off her head.
"As I was saying you will not believe me, but I genuinely like you. You awakened something different in me the day I saw you standing on the balcony. I could not get you out of my mind. I wanted to take you away from Jason and make you mine," James confessed and Julia could read honesty in his eyes.
"Hold her hand and keep her still," James said to the guard and the guard held Julia.
James leaned in and captured her lips. Despite Julia's protest, he still kissed her.
"I will remember this kiss forever," James said to Julia. "I love you, Julia," he confessed and Julia frowned.
"Give her your shirt," James ordered the guard.
The guard removed his shirt and gave it to Julia.
"Put this on. I am dropping you off here. Jason will find you. I know the tracker is inside you," James said to Julia's surprise.
Julia was left on the shoulder of the road while James's car joined the main road and soon vanished at the end of the road.
Half an hour went by with Julia standing at the shoulder of the road wearing a man's shirt. Fifteen more minutes and a familiar car drove towards her and parked. It was followed by some police cars but the police cars continued to move in the direction James had left. As they had a perfect description of the car James was driving.
The sun had gone down and the street light was the light providing visibility. Jason stepped out of the car and walked towards Julia.
"Please kiss me," Julia requested looking broken and almost on the verge of tears.
She wanted to wipe the taste of James from herself. Jason granted her wish, kissing her under the street light. Julia wrapped her arms around him.
"Are you alright?" Jason asked after pulling away from the kiss and Julia shook her head.
"What did he do?" Jason asked.
Julia told him about James's confession and everything he did to her. Jason frowned listening to Julia.
"He kissed me," Julia said in tears.
"I will make sure he never touches you again. I promise," Jason said and hugged Julia.
They both entered the car and headed for the hospital.
"So you swallowed your wedding ring," Jason asked with his arms wrapped around Julia and she nodded resting her head on Jason's shoulder.
