"W-Where is he?" The omega asked, her voice breaking as she did so.
The guy in front of her looked up. "Close to the northern border, luna, "
And that was all it took Evelyn to run out of the packhouse.
The omega ran as fast as she could but unfortunately, the packhouse was heavily guarded.
She couldn't even take a step out of the garden before she was stopped.
"Luna, you're not allowed to go out! " Two warriors stood in front of her, blocking her path.
"I need to be there! Keiran is poisoned! " She protested but the warriors shook their heads.
"There are warriors to protect him, Luna. Please go back inside. We'll send someone to check, " They tried to guide her back to the packhouse but she didn't budge.
"Are you kidding me? My mate is in danger and you're telling me to go back in?! " She yelled angrily.
"I'm sorry, luna but it's for your safety, " One of the guards said.
"My safety? How can I be safe when my mate is in danger?! You know that whatever happens to him will affect me too! " The omega was getting restless. The guards were wasting her time. "Let me go. This is an order, " She gritted out, making the guards gulp.
They both looked down. "We're sorry, luna. We can only obey the alpha's order for this matter, "
Evelyn closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "No matter who tries to stop me, I'm going to find him, " The omega breathed out before turning towards the exit.
The guards quickly moved to block her way but Evelyn moved to the side and caught the warrior's hand before twisting it.
"Get out of my way, " Her voice sounded cold and menacing as she demanded.
"Luna, we do not wish to fight you, " One of the warriors bowed in panic. If Keiran finds out they fought with her, then they'll be dead meats tomorrow.
"Then don't try to stop me! " The girl yelled again.
"You're putting us in a difficult situation, Luna. Alpha will kill us if he knows we let you out. We're just doing our job, "
Evelyn sighed and let go of the warrior.
"I promise you won't be punished, "
"But lu—"
"These are the words of your luna. Believe me, " She said, causing the warriors to look at each other.
They both stepped back. "We'll let you go, luna. But we'll send a warrior with you to make sure you're okay. Also, you can take a bike with you. It'll help you reach there faster, "
The omega heaved a sigh. "Thank you… "

Keiran took the time to think about his next move. This is definitely not a poison to kill him because if he dies, Evelyn would die too. So their plan won't work out.
He held Derned's hand that had the poison and dug his claws deep into his flesh. The vampire hissed at the pain.
A werewolf's claws were no joke.
The alpha made sure he made a deep cut before using his wedding ring as a weapon. He brushed the silver ring on the vampire's cut, causing Derned to fly back with a loud hiss. The poison bottle in his hand fell to the ground, shattering and spilling out everything inside.
"You fuck*r! " Derned roared before he ran towards Keiran again but the alpha rolled away and quickly got on his feet.
"Did you think it would be that easy to kill me? " Keiran chuckled. "Also using poison? You've stooped so low, "
Derned clenched his fist. "I don't need any poison to kill a dog like you, " He gritted out.
And in a second, the vampire was in front of Keiran, delivering a hard punch to his face that sent him flying back.
Keiran tried to stand up but the stinging pain in his head made it difficult to open his eyes.
But the alpha was strong and his instincts were on high alert so he blocked the next punch that was directed at his face again.
Derned paused and smirked as he saw something behind Keiran. "What I wanted has came looking for me, "
The words caught the alpha off guard. He froze as his eyes widened and Derned didn't forget to use this opportunity to deliver a strong blow on Keiran's abdomen that caused him to jerk back.
"Keiran! "
The alpha heard a shout before he hit the ground. He grunted in pain while shutting his eyes tight.
The blow hurt even more because he wasn't expecting it.
"Keiran! Are you okay?! "
That voice… sounds so familiar…
The alpha shot opened his eyes only to be met with his mate's worried ones staring down at him.
"E-Evelyn? "
"I heard you are hurt. I couldn't stay there anymore. Are you okay?!" Evelyn asked frantically.
"Evelyn, what the hell are you doing here?! I told you to stay in the packhouse! " Keiran shouted, taking the omega's hand and covering her with his body.
"Someone told me you were poisoned. I got w-worried, " The girl stuttered. She was shaking but she was relieved when she saw Keiran was alright.
"What? " The alpha frowned. "Who told—"
"It seems like you two love each other very much, " Derned chuckled. "Such a pity that I have to break you both apart, " He shook his head, acting sad.
"Derned, if you dare to touch her, I'll kill you, " Keiran stood up, immediately pushing Evelyn behind his back.
Derned chuckled again. "Just move away, Keiran. You're wasting my time, " He said and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of Evelyn.
Keiran caught the vampire's hand before he could touch his mate. " I told you to keep your hands off her, " He gritted out while twisting it.
"Keiran! "
Evelyn cried when a punch landed on the alpha's face.
"You thought I would listen to you?" Derned raised his brow.
"Stop hitting him! What do you want?! "
Evelyn tried to distract the vampire so he would stop attacking her mate.
And it worked.
"I want you, " Derned grinned devilishly. "Will you come with me? I will let him go then, "
"In your dreams, " Keiran gritted out and kicked the vampire in his abdomen, causing him to fly back and hit a tree.
Derned groaned, getting up from the floor. His eyes were pure black as he looked up at the alpha.
"You don't want to have it the easy way, huh?" The vampire raised a brow before he smirked. "Then let's have it the dirty way, "
Evelyn gulped. The vampire looked like he was about to do something evil to her mate.
And she was right.
Before the omega could even comprehend what was happening, Keiran was pulled away from her. Derned moved as fast as light.
The next thing she heard was her mate groaning in pain. Keiran's hand was pinned to a tree with a sharp knife stabbed on his palm.
Evelyn's eyes widened. She could feel his pain. The sight of blood pouring out of his palm made her mind go blank.
Evelyn clenched her fists.
"Let...him...go."
