Victor stood up, panting breathlessly.
Good thing he had a blade up in his sleeve.
He slowly cut down the sprouted vines with his knife before walking towards Evelyn.
He took the long branch of a tree that was on the ground to use it as a weapon.
The vampire tried not to make any sound as he took each step.
He has to knock the girl down.
There was no time to take any more risks.
Victor stopped a few steps behind Evelyn, gripping the branch in his hand as he stood there still for a moment.
This was the perfect chance.
Her back was turned on him. He just has to swing the wood and hit her head.
The vampire gulped as he looked at the hunters. They were all fighting for their life on the ground.
Most of them were already dead, lying motionless. Their eyes were open and bulged out comically while others were already losing the battle.
Victor gritted his teeth as he tightened his grip on the wood. He took in a deep breath before swinging the branch with all his might.
It hit something.
Something strong.
Victor didn't hear any grunts of pain.
Not even a gasp.
His eyes widened in surprise.
The branch looked like it was frozen in the air.
He swung it again but it couldn't reach the omega.
It was like there was an invisible barrier blocking it.
"You thought I wouldn't notice? "
The vampire flinched when he heard her speak.
"I knew you would escape, " Evelyn chuckled.
"Your vines aren't going to stop me," Victor said and in a second he reached into his pocket for the knife.
Evelyn stepped right when the knife flew towards her. Victor threw all the blades that were in his sleeves but he still couldn't hit her. Not even once.
Evelyn sighed. "I don't have time for this, " Even though the poison wasn't working on her, the wound was tiring her out.
Due to Evelyn not having an inner wolf, her ability to heal was very slow compared to other wolves.
She had to end the fight as soon as possible. It was risky wasting her time with Victor like this.
The omega looked at the vampire who dropped the branch and was now running towards her, ready to slam her to the ground.
Evelyn took a deep breath. She remembers how Josh taught her to fight. This will be easy.
Victor was aiming for the wound. Hitting it once again will weaken her for sure.
Evelyn knew. She watched his eyes moving to her wound as he ran towards her.
Victor moved to her left, so he could deliver a blow to her wound and then easily move to her back.
He increased his pace, clenching his fist to deliver a hard blow to her abdomen.
Evelyn narrowed her eyes.
Victor was fast so she had to think faster.
A blow to her bleeding wound will definitely tire her out.
The omega grunted in pain as she caught the vampire's hand right before it hit her wound.
She kicked Victor in the guts with all her might which sent him flying back from the force.
Evelyn panted, clutching her wound and grunting in pain. The more she moved the more it hurt.
Using this much strength was definitely taking a toll on her.
She had to trap him.
Make him unable to move until she finished his lackeys.
Victor got up again, leaping towards the girl to launch another attack.
Evelyn took in a deep breath again. She had to use her powers. Using strength will only tire her out.
Victor yelped when something thick wrapped around his leg. He lost balance and fell face first on the ground.
The vampire struggled to pry off the vines from his legs but before he knew it he was already levitating into the air.
"YOU BITCH! PUT ME DOWN!! " He screamed out furiously. "FIGHT ME WITH YOUR HANDS YOU SCAREDY OMEGA! "
Evelyn didn't even bother to acknowledge his words. She wasn't going to fall for his mind games this time.
Victor flew back, his back slamming painfully against an old tree. He cursed and wriggled around to escape the vines wrapping around him and tying him to the tree.
A few minutes later, Victor was fully trapped in the vines without having any way to even lift a finger.
A small smile formed on the lips of the omega as she turned to look around. "Looks like your hunters are all dead, "
She looked at the lifeless bodies on the ground.
They were gone.
Choked and crushed to death.
"Oh look! " She pointed to Derned. "Your favorite one is still alive, "
"I'll kill you if you touch him! "
"Don't worry, " Evelyn smiled. "I'll take care of him without touching him, "
"Y-You bitch! What-What are you going to do?! " Derned struggled to get free but he couldn't.
Victor watched, his eyes widening as he saw the vines creep into Derned's mouth.
The vampire went haywire. He tried to scream out but nothing came out of his mouth other than muffled noises.
Blood started pooling in his mouth as he tried not to choke on it.
"The vines are creeping towards his heart… " Evelyn said. "Ripping and tearing everything that are in front of them, "
Victor was speechless.
For the first time in his life, he felt completely helpless and…..frightened.
Evelyn stared at Derned. Her face blank without any emotion. "Should've thought twice before attacking my people, "
Her words were calm but it felt like a sharp-edged sword.
The omega looked at Victor with a smile. She raised her hands and clenched her fist like she was crushing something. "Just like that… "
Derned spat out a muffled scream, blood spilling out of his mouth like a fountain.
"His heart is crushed and he's gone, "
Victor couldn't say anything.
He knew he was doomed.
There was no escape.
