Evelyn smiled. "You need to stop underestimating me because of my gender and rank. Your hunters don't seem so threatening to me—"
Evelyn paused and caught the knife that flew towards her.
Derned frowned at how the omega didn't even flinch when she did that.
Evelyn turned to the hunter who threw the knife at her. "It's rude to interrupt when someone is talking, " She said and smirked. "Here catch it,"
The omega threw the knife back at him.
But the poor guy wasn't fast enough.
He fell to the ground, hand clutching the knife that pierced his chest.
"Oops! " The girl chuckled. "I thought your hunters were fast… I guess I was wrong, "
The vampire bit inside his cheek.
Evelyn was getting on his nerves.
"I tried to be considerate, " The girl spoke as she took small steps forward. "I didn't want to hurt anyone. That's the thing I hate the most. But you guys don't deserve any sympathy, " She hissed. "Your heart is poisoned by greed. You only think about being in control of everything. You just want to kill, kill and kill all the time, "
Victor chuckled in amusement as he heard the girl rant.
"And when you think about doing something like that all the time, it might happen to you, "
Victor raised a brow. "Are you threatening to kill me? " He asked, trying hard to hold in his laughter.
Evelyn had an unamused look. "This isn't a threat or a warning. I'm just stating what I'm going to do in a few minutes, "
"You must be kidding me, " Derned broke out into laughter as he heard her words. "This omega really has the guts to say that in front of our face, "
"Listen here girl, in a few minutes, I'm gonna drag you out of here and keep you as my pet, " Victor smirked. "Your powers are handy...also, you look delicious, " He licked his lips. "I can have some fun with you too, "
Evelyn scoffed. "You're going to die, Victor. Get that inside your head, "
"Honey, you won't be able to fight against my hunters. You're going to surrender halfway, "
"Are you sure about that? "
"I am, "
"Then let's see what your hunters have up their sleeves, " The girl smirked before turning towards the men who were standing there ready to attack.
She dodged the knives and blades that flew towards her as we walked forward. Evelyn frowned. "Where did you all get these knives from? "
"Bitch, shut up! "
The omega stopped a shifter that lunged towards her. She lifted him up in the air.
"That was rude, Mister, " She pouted. "I was just asking because I was curious, "
The hunter screamed as he was thrown against a stone.
The omega walked forward but she was attacked on every step she took.
"Although it's hard to grow in this climate, liana vines are a good weapon. They're stronger, " She said while choking a vampire with the vines. "I know you won't die from choking so I took one of your knives, " She waved the knife in front of him. "Would you mind if I use it on you? " She tilted her head.
"Nghf! Mgh!! "
Evelyn pressed her lips together. "I can't understand you but I'll take that as a yes, " She smiled before stabbing the knife into his chest.
The hunter cried and wiggled around in pain. "Oops! It was poisoned, wasn't it? "
Derned and Victor eyed the omega's every move.
"All over of our hunters are rooted to ground by her fucking witchcraft! " Derned cursed under his breath.
"That's not witchcraft, Derned. That's earth powers, " Victor bit inside his cheek.
"Do you think she can take them all down? "
"I do, "
"What?! " Derned looked at Victor as if he was spouting nonsense. "Ridiculous! You're the one who said that—"
"I know, " Victor cut him off halfway. "Her powers are awakened… and her control over it is more than what I expected. She's not supposed to use it like that… " The vampire frowned. "Her energy should be worn off by now… but she's still fighting… That makes no sense, "
"Fuck! We brought only a few hunters thinking this would be an easy fight. What are we going to do now?"
"Relax, Derned, " Victor took a deep breath. "We should find her weak spot. She should not be able to have this much energy. It doesn't make any sense. She should be exhausted by now unless she—" The vampire froze.
"Unless she what? " Derned asked impatiently.
"Unless she's constantly absorbing it from her surroundings," Victor looked around.
"Is the forest helping her?"
"There's no way… because the climate is…. Everything is frozen…, "
"What do you mean frozen? We're in the woods, Victor! She's a forest spirit and if she could absorb energy from her surroundings then we're screwed! "
"Derned, calm down. I'm trying to think of something, " Victor rubbed his temples.
"Calm down? Are you kidding me? That girl has already killed half of our hunters. Look at them lifelessly lying on the ground with flowers sprouting out of their mouths! If we don't think fast, that's how we're gonna end up! "
"Will you shut the fuck up and let me think?! Or come up with something helpful! You're only giving me a headache with your blabbering, "
"How are we supposed to weaken her? Our only advantage is our strength and our speed, " Derned said frustratedly. "We can only dodge her attack on a limited space like this, " He scoffed. "We should've brought more hunters. We really underestimated them, "
"Keiran is her weakness, " Victor said, gritting his teeth. "That omega is intelligent, " He said as he glared at her. "She knew he was her weakness and that's why she removed him from this fight, "
"Well, we can't bring that alpha here so we have to think another way, " Derned was losing his patience because for every minute passed, Evelyn was taking down the hunters one by one.
"Poison is the only way. It will weaken her and hinder her focus. That's our last and best option, "
"Poison? Do you think that'll work on her? How are we going—"
"Calm down, Derned. If I can take down her mate, then I can take down her too, " Victor smirked.
The omega was powerful.
But he played the dirty game and he was good at it.
