"Hunters, retreat! " Victor shouted. "Formation B! " He commanded his followers. "Now! "
Derned swiftly freed the hunters who were trapped by Evelyn and in a matter of seconds, they were surrounding the omega.
Evelyn frowned. The hunters were circling her. That meant attacks from all sides.
It's gonna be hard to hold up.
The vampires were fast. They were moving quickly and because of that, it got harder and harder for Evelyn to defend their attacks. Knives and blades were coming at her from all sides.
The omega was skillful. She dodged them all but it would tire her out in no time if this continued.
"Argh! " Evelyn winced when a blade brushed past her. It left a bleeding cut on her right arm.
She could see Victor smirk as he passed by her.

She has to think fast!
Evelyn dodged a knife that flew towards her and tried to stop the hunters by using vines as obstacles.
She couldn't catch their feet because they were too fast and they ripped the vines as soon as they sprouted.
Evelyn bit her lips.
She needed to concentrate.
But the wind, the knives, and the hunters surrounding her… it was all too much.
"Ahh! " The girl shouted in surprise before she fell to the ground.
A hunter stood behind her, gripping her hair painfully tight in his hands. Evelyn squirmed as she tried to get free from his hold.
Her head was starting to hurt.
She was panting like she ran a marathon.
"Stay down, omega, " The man whispered in her ear as he caught her hands and pinned them behind her back.
The vines sprouted from the ground but they were cut down by the hunters as soon as they came out.
"Your vines won't work now, " The man behind her chuckled. "So be a good girl and stay still, "
The omega gritted her teeth. She wasn't going to give up. She tried again and again until Derned spoke up irritatedly.
"Drop it, girl, " He snorted. "You're wasting your energy and that's all, "
Evelyn paused.
That was right….
She was just wasting her energy.
She needed to think.
Think of a way to gain control over the situation.
"I killed your father… " Victor walked up to the girl.
The sudden confession both surprised and confused the omega in front of him.
"You know that already, "
The girl clenched her fist and looked away in disgust. She knows it. He was there when her old pack was attacked.
He wasn't just there.
He was killing people.
She remembers him proudly looking up at his father after stabbing and slicing people's throats.
She remembers wondering how messed up a teenager's mind had to be so he could do such things at a young age with no regrets.
It was disturbing.
"Do you know why I did that? " Victor leaned down with a smirk.
Evelyn didn't utter a word.
She was disgusted and angry.
She was frustrated that she couldn't rip out his throat as he did to his victims.
"My father was my only family. I always looked up to him… He trained me day and night… Taught me how the world works…. " Victor heaved a sigh. "That was the first time… . he took me to fight with him…. He was counting on me to protect him… " The vampire gritted his teeth. "But I couldn't… " His eyes shifted towards the omega like a blade. Sharp and swift.
"Do you know why?! " Victor seethed, grabbing her chin tightly. "Because of your damn father!"
Evelyn closed her eyes as the vampire shouted in front of her face.
"I saw that damn dog stabbing my father and ripping off his head! Do you know how much that hurts?! "
"SHUT UP! "
Evelyn shouted back, surprising everyone around her. She panted heavily, anger and frustration clouding her mind.
"Your father died because of his greed! " She looked Victor in the eye and the vampire couldn't find even a little bit of fear in them.
"He killed people to gain power! And he died from the consequences! " Evelyn spat without an ounce of worry. "So don't try to guilt trip me. That won't work, " She panted. It was hard to speak when someone was gripping your nape so tight.
Victor's eyes were blood red. It looked like they could burn you alive from a look. He clenched his teeth.
"Do you wanna know how I killed your father? " He asked while an evil smirk made its way to his lips. "He was already on the brink of death when I found him but I sure had some fun with him before he was gone, " The vampire chuckled.
Evelyn's breath hitched...
She remembered how bloody and helpless her father looked when she left him.
It still haunted her.
"I had this long sword that my father gave me… Very beautiful and sharp. A perfect weapon to kill that dog, " He laughed. "I cut off all of his fingers first, "
The excitement in Victor's voice made the omega sick. The distance between her and the vampire was narrow and it frustrated her that she still couldn't just grab him and choke him to death
"Then I cut off his right arm… which he used to kill my father, "
Evelyn took in a shaky breath. She thought he died in a quick stab. That's what she liked to believe…
But hearing how much he suffered before made her heart sting.
"It was funny watching him being so helpless and in pain, " Victor grinned. "I then cut off all his limbs before stabbing him ten times in the heart. He died at the third stab but I just continued for my satisfaction, " He waved his hand around like it was nothing.
Evelyn was silent.
She didn't look up at the vampire.
Not even one time.
She kept staring down at the ground while her mind played the scene Victor just described.
"Well, in conclusion, it wasn't a pretty death, " Victor shrugged. "But hey, don't worry, " He smiled, slowly caressing the girl's cheek. "I'm not going to kill you. I need you for some time…. " He trailed off. "After that, you can stay as my pet if you want or you could just… . you know, die or whatever I don't really care, " He laughed and the hunters around him joined soon after.
Evelyn looked up and Victor raised a brow at the swirls of viridian in her eyes.
"I won't let you live that long! " Evelyn shouted out loud, her hands breaking free from the hunter's hold and aiming towards Victor.
Victor grunted from the pain of the push dagger digging into his arm.
He looked up at the girl in surprise and anger.
It all happened so fast.
Evelyn didn't have the time to process what was happening.
"Nghh! " The girl shouted in pain and stopped struggling all at once before slowly looking down at the knife that pierced her abdomen.
Blood flowed down slowly. She could feel the warmth of it but she still couldn't believe what was happening.
