The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 687

Ch. 677 / 790 May 05, 2026

The tension in the air was thick as Bella walked back toward the camp, her thoughts racing with the strange echo she’d heard in the forest. Kael followed closely behind, his steps heavy, his mind a storm of emotions. Bella’s heart was pounding in her chest, and the pull she felt toward him seemed to grow stronger with every step. But there was still a vast chasm between them—a void filled with questions, confusion, and uncertainty.

Bella stopped suddenly, spinning around to face Kael. Her eyes were fierce, but the confusion was still evident in her gaze. “Kael,” she demanded, her voice sharp, “What does it mean? The name I heard—what does it have to do with me? With you?”

Kael took a deep breath, his heart aching as he looked at her. The weight of the truth he had been holding back for so long was now too heavy to carry. He had tried to be patient, tried to wait for her to remember on her own, but the time had come to tell her everything.

“You heard my name,” Kael said quietly, his voice filled with both relief and sorrow. “It’s because we’re mates, Bella. We’re bonded, deeply and irrevocably. I’m not just someone you know. I’m your other half.”

Bella’s brows furrowed, her lips trembling as she processed his words. “Mates? What does that even mean? I don’t feel it… I don’t feel any connection to you.”

The words struck Kael like a physical blow, the pain of her rejection hitting him harder than he’d expected. He had known it wouldn’t be easy, but hearing her doubt the bond between them cut deeper than anything else.

“I know it’s hard to believe right now,” he said softly, stepping closer, his voice full of earnest desperation. “But it’s real. You and I are meant to be together. The bond between us is powerful, stronger than anything I can explain. It’s why we’re connected, why I’ve been drawn to you from the moment we met. And I know you feel it too, even if you can’t remember.”

Bella shook her head, her eyes brimming with frustration. “I don’t feel it,” she repeated, her voice trembling. “Everything feels so broken. I don’t remember who I was before all of this happened. How am I supposed to believe something I can’t even feel inside of me?”

Kael’s heart shattered as he watched the pain and confusion in her eyes. He reached out slowly, placing a hand gently on her arm. “I’ll make you believe it again. I’ll make you fall in love with me again, no matter how long it takes. I’ll never give up on us. I don’t care what it takes, Bella. I’ll prove it to you.”

Bella looked down at his hand, her chest tightening at the tenderness in his touch, but the fear and uncertainty still lingered within her. She didn’t know if she could trust her own feelings anymore, let alone the bond Kael was claiming to be true. But she didn’t want to hurt him, and the last thing she wanted was to lose him.

Before she could respond, a familiar voice interrupted the moment, pulling Bella’s attention away from Kael.

“Zeryth,” she murmured, her eyes narrowing slightly as she saw the rogue approaching. He had been silent during their exchange, but now he stepped forward, his eyes scanning Bella and Kael with a knowing expression.

Kael immediately tensed, his protective instincts flaring. “What do you want, Zeryth?”

Zeryth’s gaze shifted to Kael briefly before landing on Bella. His expression was unreadable, but there was a sharpness to his words as he spoke. “You’re telling her all of this, Kael. But there’s something you’re not telling her.”

Bella blinked, her pulse quickening at Zeryth’s words. “What do you mean?” she asked, her voice low with suspicion.

Zeryth gave her a knowing look, his lips curling into a slight smirk. “There’s a truth that Kael is hiding from you, something that he doesn’t want you to know. But it’s important, Bella. It’s a part of who you are, a part of what you’re becoming.”

Kael’s jaw tightened at Zeryth’s insinuation, his hands balling into fists at his sides. “Enough, Zeryth. I’ve told her everything she needs to know.”

Bella’s gaze flickered between them, her heart racing as she tried to make sense of what was happening. She had trusted Kael, but Zeryth’s cryptic words were like a crack in the foundation of everything Kael had just told her. What was he hiding? And why wouldn’t he share it with her?

“Kael, is he right?” Bella asked, her voice trembling with a mixture of fear and frustration. “What aren’t you telling me?”

Kael’s heart pounded in his chest, a wave of guilt crashing over him. He had been hiding so much from her—keeping secrets that he had hoped would stay buried until she was ready. But Zeryth’s words were pushing him to the edge. He had no choice but to confront the truth, even if it meant losing her trust in the process.

“Bella…” Kael began, his voice low, filled with pain. He wanted to tell her everything, but the weight of his past, of what he had done, was too heavy to bear. The truth could shatter her, and he didn’t know if she was ready for it.

But before he could speak further, Bella’s eyes narrowed, her voice cold with resolve. “I don’t want half-truths, Kael. I want the whole truth.”
