The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 683

Ch. 673 / 790 May 05, 2026

Kael had tried everything. Every strategy, every gentle word, every attempt to remind Bella of the love they had shared. But nothing worked. She remained distant, her eyes filled with uncertainty and confusion, as though she were staring at a stranger when she looked at him. It tore him apart to see her like this, to see her unable to remember the woman he had loved so fiercely, the woman who had once been his everything.

Determined not to give up, Kael decided that the only way to rebuild their bond was to show Bella the pieces of their past. The moments they had shared, the memories that once had been so vibrant and alive, could be the key to unlocking her true self.

One afternoon, he took her to the place where they had first met—the clearing in the forest where they had crossed paths under the moonlight. The place was bathed in soft, golden sunlight now, the world around them quiet and peaceful. Kael hoped the serenity would ease Bella, help her remember the pull of their connection.

“This is where we met,” Kael said softly, his voice steady despite the tightness in his chest. “Do you remember?”

Bella’s gaze flickered around the clearing, her eyes clouded with confusion. “No,” she replied simply, her voice distant, as if the place meant nothing to her. “I don’t remember this.”

Kael swallowed, trying not to let the pain show on his face. He had hoped that this place, with its quiet beauty and shared history, would spark something inside her. But the Bella in front of him wasn’t the woman he had known. She was a stranger wearing his lover’s face.

“Maybe… maybe we can walk through it together,” Kael suggested gently, taking a step closer to her. “I can tell you all the stories from that night—the way you looked at me when we first spoke, how your smile made everything feel right in the world.”

Bella hesitated, her eyes searching the trees around them as if looking for something. She felt a pull, something primal that she couldn’t quite explain, like the forest itself was calling her, urging her to move deeper into the woods. But she didn’t know why, nor did she understand what it meant.

“I don’t think I’m ready to remember,” she muttered, her voice barely a whisper.

Kael took a deep breath, trying to keep his emotions in check. He was desperate, but he couldn’t force her to remember. “It’s okay,” he said quietly. “We don’t have to rush this. Whenever you’re ready.”

They continued walking, Kael pointing out little details of their life together. He took her to the lake where they had shared their first kiss, the spot where they had spent countless hours talking late into the night. Every corner of the Crimson Fang territory was filled with memories, and Kael hoped that each step, each place, would bring Bella closer to the woman he had known. But every time he looked at her, her eyes remained distant, as if she was there physically, but her mind and heart were elsewhere.

Bella didn’t know how to feel. Every time Kael spoke, there was something familiar in his voice, a warmth she couldn’t fully grasp. She wanted to trust him, to believe that what he said was true—that they had shared something deep, something important. But her instincts, those primal instincts that seemed to flare to life when she wasn’t paying attention, kept pulling her away. There was something she needed to find, something that felt more urgent than her connection to Kael.

At night, as she lay in bed, she often felt restless. She couldn’t sleep. Her mind swirled with fragmented thoughts, flashes of images that made no sense. Faces, shapes, and shadows danced in the corners of her vision, and every time she closed her eyes, she saw her life—just out of reach.

One night, as Bella drifted in and out of sleep, she had another vivid dream. This time, the images were clearer, sharper. She stood in a dark forest, surrounded by towering trees, their branches like skeletal hands reaching for the sky. There was a faint sound, a whisper that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere all at once.

“Who are you?” Bella called out, her voice shaking as she tried to find the source of the sound.

The whisper grew louder, more distinct. “You are more than you think.”

Bella’s heart raced as she looked around, searching for the woman who was speaking to her. And then, as though emerging from the shadows, a figure appeared before her. The woman was silver-haired, her long locks shimmering like moonlight, her face both beautiful and intimidating. The woman’s eyes glowed, intense and knowing, as she stared at Bella with an expression that seemed to be both comforting and warning.

The woman opened her mouth, and her voice, low and haunting, spoke once more.

“You’re not just a wolf. You’re not just a vampire. You’re something more,” she said, her words echoing in Bella’s mind.

Bella stepped forward, reaching out to her, but the woman faded into the darkness before she could touch her.

“Wait!” Bella cried, but the woman was gone.

Bella woke with a jolt, her heart pounding, her body drenched in sweat. She sat up in bed, gasping for breath, her mind racing to make sense of the dream. Who was the woman? Why did she say that Bella was more than she thought? And why did it feel like a part of her knew that woman, like she had seen her before?

She could still feel the woman’s presence, lingering in her mind, like a whisper that wouldn’t fade.

In the morning, Kael came to her with that same gentle, hopeful expression, but Bella was distant, lost in thought. She didn’t know how to explain what had happened in her dream, but it was clear to her that something was shifting inside of her. There was a pull, something deeper than what Kael was offering. She didn’t understand it, but she knew she had to follow it.

Kael took her hand gently. “Are you okay?” he asked, his voice full of concern.

Bella looked at him, her eyes searching his face, trying to find something she could grasp, something that would give her the answers she so desperately needed. She shook her head, her voice trembling slightly.

“I don’t know anymore,” she whispered. “I don’t feel like I’m supposed to be here. Like there’s something… more.”
