The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 684

Ch. 674 / 790 May 05, 2026

Bella wandered along the edges of the Crimson Fang territory, her feet carrying her in a direction she couldn’t quite explain. There was something about this part of the land that felt different, as if the air itself held secrets, ancient and deep. Her thoughts were a blur, constantly drifting between fragments of memories, emotions that didn’t quite belong to her, and flashes of that silver-haired woman who had appeared in her dreams.

As much as she tried to push it away, something was tugging at her, urging her to keep walking, to find the answers that felt just beyond her grasp. The familiar comfort of Kael’s presence was absent in this moment, in its place was an overwhelming feeling that she needed to discover who she really was, who she had been before everything had changed.

Bella’s footsteps slowed as she reached a clearing near the edge of the forest, where the trees parted to reveal a wide, open expanse of land that led to the cliffs overlooking the valley below. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, feeling the wind against her skin, letting it carry away the weight of her confusion. This place felt like a turning point, like the answer to everything might be hidden in the very soil beneath her feet.

That was when she heard the voice.

“You shouldn’t be here.”

Bella stiffened, her senses on high alert. She spun around to find a man standing in the shadows of the trees, his dark eyes fixed on her with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine. He was tall, with striking features that seemed almost too perfect, his dark hair falling just over his brows. There was an unmistakable aura of power around him, something ancient and unsettling.

“I… I didn’t mean to intrude,” Bella stammered, her voice tinged with unease. She instinctively took a step back, though she couldn’t explain why. There was something about him that felt both familiar and foreign, a puzzle she couldn’t quite piece together.

The man stepped forward, his gaze never wavering. “You don’t remember me, do you?” he asked, his voice calm but laced with something unreadable.

Bella hesitated, feeling a flicker of recognition tug at the back of her mind, but it was fleeting. She shook her head. “No,” she replied softly. “I don’t remember you.”

He studied her for a long moment, his expression unreadable. “You should,” he said quietly, almost to himself. “You’re not just anyone, Bella. You’re something more, and you’ve forgotten your place in all of this.”

Bella blinked, trying to understand what he meant. “I’ve… forgotten a lot,” she admitted, her voice cracking slightly. “I don’t remember who I am, or how I got here. I don’t even know who I was before everything… changed.”

The man’s eyes softened, but only for a moment. “I know who you are. And I know what’s happened to you,” he said, his voice now tinged with a mixture of sadness and resolve. “You’ve been lost, but you’re not alone. I can help you.”

Bella looked at him, a sense of confusion swirling in her chest. “Help me?” she asked, though she wasn’t sure what kind of help she was asking for. What could this stranger possibly know about her? About what had happened to her?

He nodded, his gaze unwavering. “You’re a hybrid, Bella. Your wolf side and your vampire blood… they’re fighting for control. That’s what’s causing your memory loss. Your identity is being torn apart. But it doesn’t have to be this way.”

Bella took a step back, her mind racing. “What are you talking about? How do you know all this?”

The man’s lips curled into a slight, knowing smile. “I’m Zeryth,” he said simply, as though the name alone should have triggered something inside her. But it didn’t. Bella’s mind felt blank when she tried to connect his name to anything. There was no recognition, no spark of memory.

“I don’t know you,” Bella said, her voice quiet, almost apologetic. She hated how it sounded, but she couldn’t lie to herself. She had no idea who this man was or why he seemed to think she should.

Zeryth studied her with an intensity that made her feel exposed. “I know you don’t. But I promise you, you do. You just don’t remember. I was part of your past, and I will be part of your future. I can help you remember everything you’ve lost. But you have to trust me.”

Bella’s heart pounded in her chest as she took in his words. There was something about Zeryth that felt like a missing piece of her past, something important that she couldn’t quite place. The more she looked at him, the more the pull grew stronger, as though he had been there all along, hiding in the recesses of her forgotten memories.

“I can help you find the answers, Bella,” Zeryth continued, his voice steady. “But sometimes, the answers are where it all began.”

Bella’s mind raced. Where it all began? Where was that? She couldn’t even remember her past, let alone the beginning of it.

Before she could ask any more questions, she heard a rustling sound from behind her. She turned to see Kael standing at the edge of the clearing, his stance tense, his fists clenched at his sides. His eyes flicked between her and Zeryth, a flicker of anger in them that she couldn’t ignore.

Kael’s gaze hardened as he saw Bella standing there, talking to this stranger, and something in his chest tightened. He hadn’t meant to follow her, but the worry had driven him to track her, to make sure she wasn’t alone. Now, seeing her with Zeryth, a man he had never seen before, made something inside of him snap.

Kael took a step forward, his voice low, filled with restrained fury. “Bella,” he said, his tone laced with warning. “What’s going on here?”

Bella’s heart skipped a beat as she turned to look at him, sensing the storm brewing inside Kael. She wasn’t sure what to feel about Zeryth’s presence, but seeing Kael’s anger sparked something deep inside her.

“I—I was just talking to him,” she stammered, her confusion growing. “He says he knows me.”

Kael’s jaw tightened as he stepped closer, his eyes never leaving Zeryth. “I don’t care who he is,” Kael growled. “Stay away from her.”
