The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 604

Ch. 594 / 790 May 05, 2026

The woods were quiet that afternoon, the only sound being the rustling of leaves in the cool breeze. Bella walked along the narrow path, trying to clear her head. The tension in the pack seemed to be escalating with each passing day, and her role as Kael’s mate made her a target. The whispers, the glares—it was getting harder to ignore.

Today, she had hoped for a little peace, but peace was a luxury she couldn’t afford. She wasn’t just an outsider now; she was an enemy in the eyes of many.

Suddenly, a rustling noise behind her made her stop. Bella turned, her senses immediately alert. She couldn’t see anyone, but the hairs on the back of her neck stood up. She wasn’t alone.

The group emerged from the shadows, their faces filled with disdain and anger. They were pack warriors—strong, skilled, and completely loyal to Esmera. Bella recognized them immediately, and her stomach twisted with dread.

“You shouldn’t be here, rogue,” one of them sneered. It was Roran, a burly warrior with a reputation for being ruthless. His eyes were cold, and his smile was cruel. “You’ve already caused enough trouble in this pack.”

Bella stood her ground, though her heart raced. She had learned the hard way that retreating only made things worse. “I’m not a rogue,” she said through gritted teeth, her voice steady despite the fear that threatened to overwhelm her. “I’m Kael’s mate.”

The warriors laughed, a low, mocking sound. “A mate doesn’t mean anything here,” another warrior, Kian, said, his voice full of venom. “You’re nothing more than an unworthy rogue who doesn’t belong in our pack.”

Bella felt a surge of anger rise within her, but she held it in check, knowing that reacting impulsively would only make things worse. Still, she couldn’t ignore the dark anger that simmered just beneath the surface. She wasn’t just going to let them humiliate her.

Roran stepped closer, his eyes narrowing. “You think you’re strong because Kael claimed you, but you’re weak. And we’re going to show you just how weak you are.”

Before Bella could react, Roran lunged at her, aiming to grab her arm and overpower her. But Bella was quicker than he expected. She dodged his grip, spinning to the side with surprising agility. The warriors seemed taken aback by her speed, but it didn’t stop them from closing in.

Kian was next to strike, trying to grab her from behind. Bella whipped around, throwing an elbow into his chest, knocking the wind out of him. He staggered back, clearly stunned.

“You think you can take me down like this?” Bella growled, her body trembling with adrenaline. She could feel something stirring within her, a power that she didn’t fully understand, but it was there, coursing through her veins.

Roran advanced again, more cautiously this time, but Bella wasn’t about to give him the chance to underestimate her. She shifted her stance, using her momentum to slam her shoulder into his chest. He grunted, stumbling backward, but before he could recover, she swept his legs out from under him. He hit the ground hard, groaning in pain.

Bella stood over him, breathing heavily, her chest rising and falling with each breath. She couldn’t believe what had just happened. She had actually taken him down.

The remaining warriors hesitated, their eyes wide with disbelief. Bella had always felt weak, always seen herself as an outsider, but in that moment, she realized that she wasn’t as helpless as they had all believed.

But the victory was short-lived.

A sharp voice broke through the tension, and Bella’s heart sank when she saw who had arrived.

“Enough!”

Esmera stepped into the clearing, her eyes blazing with fury. She had been watching the entire time, and Bella could see the smug satisfaction on her face as she surveyed the scene.

“Well, well,” Esmera said, her voice dripping with malice. “It looks like the rogue has learned to fight.” She glanced at the warriors, who were now recovering, their pride wounded but not broken. “But it doesn’t matter. What you’ve done here is unforgivable.”

Before Bella could respond, the warriors lunged forward, grabbing her by the arms and pulling her toward the center of the clearing.

“What are you doing?” Bella struggled, trying to break free, but their grip was like iron. “Let go of me!”

Esmera stepped forward, her gaze cold and calculating. “You used forbidden power, didn’t you, Bella?” she asked, her words laced with venom. “You harmed a packmate using abilities that you have no right to possess.”

Bella froze, her mind racing. Forbidden power? She had barely even understood what had happened when she took down Roran. But Esmera wasn’t going to give her a chance to explain.

“You’re dangerous,” Esmera continued, her eyes flashing with a twisted sort of triumph. “You don’t belong here, and now, you’ve proven it.”

Bella’s stomach churned with panic as the warriors dragged her through the woods, away from the clearing. The weight of Esmera’s accusation pressed down on her like a heavy stone, and the fear of what would come next gnawed at her insides.

The clearing where they had fought seemed a lifetime away now, and Bella couldn’t shake the feeling that things were only going to get worse.

They reached the packhouse, and Bella was shoved roughly to the ground before the elders, who were waiting for her with grim expressions.

“You stand accused of using forbidden power to harm a packmate,” one of the elders, a stern woman named Vira, said. Her voice was cold, but there was something calculating in her gaze. “How do you plead, Bella?”

Bella opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. How could she explain something she didn’t even understand herself? How could she defend herself when the pack already believed her guilty?

The room seemed to close in on her, and for a moment, all Bella could do was breathe.
