The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 621

Ch. 611 / 790 May 05, 2026

The air seemed to grow heavier as the woman, Lira, stepped forward, her every movement deliberate and purposeful. Her aura commanded attention, and the Crescent Howl warriors instinctively lowered their gazes. Bella could feel the power radiating off her, an energy that made her silver-furred form bristle with unease.

“Bella,” Lira said, her voice smooth but laced with authority, “you’re not just some rogue wolf. You are far more than what they’ve told you.”

Bella shifted uncomfortably, her massive paws digging into the earth. She still wasn’t entirely in control of her new form, but her glowing eyes locked onto Lira with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

Kael stepped protectively in front of Bella, his stance rigid. “You have no right to be here, and you definitely have no right to tell her who she is.”

Lira raised an eyebrow, her calm demeanor unwavering. “Oh, but I do. More than anyone else here, Alpha.” She turned her gaze back to Bella, ignoring Kael’s warning growl.

“You’re the granddaughter of Luna Isla,” Lira continued, her tone steady. “One of the most revered figures in werewolf history and the founder of the Crimson Fang Pack.”

The words hung in the air like a thunderclap, silencing the murmurs among the Crescent Howl warriors. Kael’s expression froze, his amber eyes widening in disbelief.

Bella took a hesitant step back, her wolf form trembling slightly. “That’s… impossible,” she managed to say, her voice deepened and rougher in this form but still distinctly hers.

“Is it?” Lira countered, tilting her head. “Your strength, your size, your glowing eyes—they’re all marks of the Crimson Fang bloodline. You carry Isla’s legacy in your very veins, Bella. You were never meant to live as a rogue.”

Kael recovered quickly, his expression hardening. “And you expect us to just take your word for it?”

Lira let out a soft, humorless laugh. “Do you think I came here to convince you, Alpha? I’m here for her.” She pointed at Bella, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Her destiny is far greater than anything you can offer her in this pack.”

Bella’s claws dug into the dirt as she struggled to process the revelation. “If this is true, why haven’t I known any of this? Why has no one told me before now?”

Lira’s expression softened for the first time. “Because they hid you,” she said, glancing at the elders who stood at the edge of the clearing, their faces pale. “They knew what you were from the moment they found you. They feared what your existence might mean—for them, for the balance of power, for the entire werewolf world.”

Bella’s gaze snapped to the elders, who avoided her eyes. A wave of betrayal washed over her. They had known all along.

“Is this true?” she demanded, her voice rising.

The oldest elder, a frail man with a hunched back, hesitated before nodding slowly. “We thought it was for the best,” he muttered. “For your safety and ours.”

Bella’s wolf form growled, the sound deep and threatening. “You lied to me. My entire life has been a lie.”

Kael stepped closer to her, his voice firm but gentle. “Bella, you don’t have to believe her. Whatever you were before, you’re one of us now. This is your pack.”

Lira’s eyes flashed with irritation. “You’re clinging to her for your own reasons, Kael. But her place isn’t here. If she stays, you’ll only put her—and your entire pack—in greater danger.”

“What danger?” Kael shot back, his voice rising. “Nyxthorn? We’re already dealing with them. If you have information, share it instead of trying to take her away.”

Lira took a step forward, her presence somehow even more commanding. “Nyxthorn isn’t the only threat, Kael. Bella’s bloodline attracts enemies far greater than any pack war you’ve seen. If she doesn’t come with me, if she doesn’t learn to harness her powers, she will become a target—and so will everyone around her.”

Bella’s ears flattened, and she glanced between Kael and Lira, her mind spinning. She didn’t know who to trust. Lira’s words resonated with her in a way she couldn’t explain, but Kael’s presence grounded her, reminded her of the loyalty and bond she’d begun to feel with Crescent Howl.

Kael turned to Bella, his gaze intense. “You don’t have to go with her. You don’t owe her anything. You belong here, with us—with me.”

Lira scoffed. “Spoken like a possessive Alpha. This isn’t about you, Kael. It’s about her.” She reached a hand toward Bella, her silver eyes gleaming. “Come with me, Bella. I’ll help you uncover the truth about your heritage, your powers, and your destiny.”

Bella hesitated, her massive paw hovering mid-step. She felt torn in two, her instincts pulling her in opposite directions.

Kael growled low in his throat, stepping between Bella and Lira. “She’s not going anywhere. Not with you.”

Lira’s lips curled into a small, knowing smile. “You can’t stop her from making her own choice, Alpha.”

Kael’s stance stiffened, his eyes blazing. “She stays here. She’s mine.”
