The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Chapter 605

Ch. 595 / 790 May 05, 2026

The air in the room was thick with tension. Bella stood before the elders, her heart pounding in her chest. The harsh light of the packhouse’s great hall illuminated the solemn faces of the elders, their eyes cold and unyielding as they watched her. Her arms were crossed tightly, her body rigid with fear and anger.

She had been dragged here, accused of using forbidden power to harm a packmate. The words echoed in her head like a constant drumbeat. Bella had no idea what had happened in the woods, but whatever it was, it was enough to put her in front of the pack’s most powerful leaders. She felt the weight of their judgment pressing down on her, and it was suffocating.

The room was silent, save for the soft rustle of clothing and the creak of chairs as the elders shifted uncomfortably. Esmera was standing off to the side, her expression smug as she watched Bella with undisguised satisfaction. The warriors who had brought her here stood in the back, arms folded, still eyeing her with distrust.

“Bella,” Elder Vira’s voice cut through the silence. It was stern, commanding. “You stand accused of using forbidden power to harm one of your packmates. How do you plead?”

Bella’s mouth went dry, her mind racing for an answer. How could she explain something she didn’t understand? She had never intended to hurt anyone. She had only fought back when they attacked her. But how could she make them see that? How could she make them believe that she wasn’t some rogue using dark powers to destroy them?

“I didn’t—” Bella started, her voice trembling, but the words faltered in her throat. She didn’t even know what she was defending herself against.

Elder Vira’s gaze hardened, and she stepped forward. “You used a force that no one here should possess. That is enough for us to judge you guilty.”

The words were like a punch to the gut, and Bella’s knees nearly gave out beneath her. She swallowed hard, trying to steady herself, but her emotions were running wild.

Anger. Fear. Frustration. They all bubbled up inside her, a storm that she couldn’t control. Her hands clenched into fists, and her breath came in shallow gasps. The room seemed to grow warmer, as if the very air around her was charged with electricity.

And then, without warning, she felt it—a strange, almost magnetic pull. It started deep inside her chest, like a pressure that was building, pushing against her from the inside. Bella gasped, her breath hitching as the sensation intensified.

The medallion around her neck, the one she had barely noticed before, began to glow faintly. The soft blue light pulsed with each beat of her heart, and the strange force within her grew stronger. She could feel it, like something ancient and powerful awakening deep inside her.

Her heart raced, her emotions spinning out of control. The pressure was unbearable, and it was threatening to break free. She could hear the voices of the elders, their harsh words blending into a blur as the force within her began to surge.

Kael’s voice cut through the chaos, sharp and commanding. “Enough.”

Bella’s head whipped around, her eyes locking onto Kael’s. He was standing at the edge of the circle of elders, his jaw clenched and his eyes filled with determination.

“Bella,” Kael said again, his voice low but filled with authority. “You don’t need to answer to them.”

The energy inside Bella flared, a flash of blue light flickering from the medallion as her emotions spiraled out of control. She felt like she was going to explode.

Kael stepped forward, his hand raised to calm the room. “This trial is over.”

The elders exchanged shocked glances, their faces filled with disbelief at Kael’s interruption. Vira opened her mouth to protest, but Kael silenced her with a single, forceful glance.

“You’re dismissing the charges?” Vira’s voice was filled with disbelief.

Kael’s eyes never wavered from Bella. “There will be no charges.”

“But—” Elder Rokan began, but Kael cut him off.

“No. I said there will be no charges. Bella did nothing wrong.” Kael’s voice was steady, unwavering. He didn’t look at anyone else in the room, his attention solely on Bella. “She is my mate, and I will not allow any harm to come to her.”

The room was silent, the weight of Kael’s words sinking in. For a moment, no one moved, and then, one by one, the elders stood, exchanging glances with each other.

Bella was trembling, still reeling from the strange force inside her, but Kael’s presence was like a shield, protecting her from the accusations and whispers.

“We will discuss this later,” Elder Vira finally said, her tone cold and disapproving. “But for now, the trial is dismissed.”

Kael nodded once, his eyes never leaving Bella. “Thank you,” he said, his voice gentle, though there was a steel edge to it.

As the elders began to disperse, Bella’s mind was still spinning. She didn’t understand what had just happened. Why had the medallion glowed like that? What was this force inside her? And why was Kael so certain that she was innocent when she didn’t even know what she had done?

She was still trying to make sense of everything when she heard a soft whisper from behind her.

“If she is what I think…”

The voice was low, barely audible, but the words were clear. Bella turned, her eyes wide, but no one was close enough to have spoken. She glanced at Kael, but he hadn’t heard.

“If she is what I think,” the voice continued, “we’re all in danger.”

Bella’s heart skipped a beat. Who had said that? And why did it fill her with such a sense of dread?

One elder whispers to another, “If she is what I think, we’re all in danger.”
