Third Person's POV
"What's going on here? I just heard him mention a breakup. He wouldn't be breaking up with Sunny, would he?" Patricia was so agitated because she had caught those words.
Catherine, of course, also pondered over what Leo had said, and then replied, "Grandma, it seems he announced a breakup with Miss Garcia in front of the reporters."
"What's this all about? They were getting along just fine, and now suddenly a breakup? Did he initiate it?"
Patricia was truly a worrier at heart. She had finally seen her grandsons with girlfriends, on the verge of settling down, but now they were talking about breaking up.
"Grandma, don't get so worked up. Why don't you give him a call and find out what's really going on?" Catherine comforted Patricia.
In reality, she too felt a growing unease.
She sensed that this matter might be far more serious than she had imagined.
Patricia picked up her phone and dialed Leo's number, intending to inquire about the situation.
However, after several attempts, she was met with no answer.
"What's the matter with him, not even answering my call? Has the boy gone rogue?" Patricia grumbled in frustration, having no choice but to put her phone down for the time being.
In the evening, Blake returned home, and Catherine noticed a hint of gloom on his brow, indicating that something had indeed gone amiss.
The two little ones rushed over, and the cloud of melancholy on Blake's face melted away like ice and snow as he picked up Hedwig, inquiring about her day at home.
"I played hide and seek with Mommy and Noah, and Noah couldn't find me!" Hedwig said proudly, her chin raised.
Noah rolled his eyes and meekly interjected, "That's because I didn't want you to feel unaccomplished, so I hid under the chair. Who couldn't see you there?"
Upon hearing this, Hedwig immediately protested, "He didn't find me, and that's that."
Catherine quickly stepped in to shoo the two little ones away. "Alright, go upstairs. I need to talk to Daddy."
The children went to play on their own.
Blake's weary eyes deeply focused on the petite woman beside him. Having spent time together, the two seemed to have developed a certain understanding.
He was grateful that she had taken the children away, as his mood was truly not the best that day, and he feared he wouldn't be able to give the children much attention.
"Go upstairs and take a shower." Catherine looked at him and offered a sweet smile.
That warm grin seemed like a spring breeze, blowing into Blake's heart. His large hand reached out, gently encircling her waist before he whispered, "Come with me."
Patricia suddenly appeared from the direction of the dining area and called out to Blake as soon as she saw him, "Blake, come here. I need to ask you something."
Seeing Patricia approach, Catherine subtly freed herself from his embrace.
In front of Patricia, Catherine didn't dare to act out of line, fearing to leave an improper impression.
Blake turned to face Patricia and asked in a low voice, "Grandma, what's the matter?"
"Do you know what's going on with Leo? Has he broken up with Sunny?" Patricia, still unable to get through on the phone, was still troubled by the matter and thus turned to Blake for answers.
Blake was aware of the situation and had been informed, but he chose not to interfere.
"Grandma, I'm not quite sure about this. You should ask Leo directly," Blake replied.
"I can't get through to him on the phone. Why won't he answer my calls? He's such a worrywart," Patricia said indignantly.
"He's fine, Grandma. Don't worry," Blake reassured her, believing that Leo was likely in a bad mood and not answering the phone because he wanted to be alone for a while.
"How can I not worry? You call him later, or send someone to check on him. Make sure nothing happens to him," Patricia still couldn't let go of her concerns and instructed him.
"Alright, Grandma. I'll call him," Blake nodded and then went upstairs with Catherine.
Once inside the bedroom, Catherine took his suit jacket as he undressed, her expression now carrying a hint of worry. "What happened between Leo and Sunny? You must know something."
"Yes, I do," Blake didn't hide anything from Catherine, and then he continued in a deep voice, "Let's not get involved in this. Let him handle it himself."
"Why did they break up? Isn't it a problem with their feelings?" Catherine couldn't help but be curious.
"No, their feelings are fine. It's a matter of trust between them. The taste of being deceived is not pleasant, especially by someone you love," Blake sneered.
Catherine sighed and nodded, "Yes, if you had deceived me, I would be very upset too."
Blake's eyes darkened a bit as he placed his hands on her slender shoulders, leaned in slightly, and his thin lips curved with tenderness, "When have I ever deceived you?"
"I'm talking about the future!" Catherine playfully smiled.
"Never in the future either!" Blake affirmed.
Catherine deliberately hummed, "You have deceived me before, remember?"
"You mean the matter with my parents?" Blake, of course, remembered when he had lied to her, telling her that both her biological parents were no longer alive, which had made her cry several times.
"Yes, you lied to me!" Catherine playfully scolded him.
"That was different. It was a white lie," Blake tried to justify himself.
Catherine sighed softly and nestled her face into his chest, "Alright, I won't blame you for that. You did it for my own good."
"You go take a shower. I'll go check on the kids." Catherine turned and left the room.
Blake watched the closed door and decided to call Leo to check on him.
This time, the call went through, and an urgent voice came through the line, "Are you the family member of this gentleman? Could you come to the Speed Club? He is drunk and got into a fight."
