Third Person's POV
Sunny let out a bitter laugh. "You really think too highly of me. Actually, I've already broken up with him, and I don't plan to be a star anymore. You can go back now."
"Sunny, aren't you really considering your future? You're already famous now. Once you become well-known, it's hard to go back to your simple life. No matter where you go, people will pay attention to you. Instead of being ridiculed, why not hold your head high and be your own queen? You have the potential. You're very beautiful!" Melissa kept persuading her.
Sunny's mind went blank. Where was her future? She really hadn't thought about it at all.
She used to simply want to earn more money to improve her quality of life, travel when she had time, and treat herself to delicious food for her hard work. But now? She didn't dare to think about anything.
"A single romance has beaten you down like this. You don't seem like the Sunny I know. You used to be so brave and positive. I thought nothing could bring you down," Melissa, seeing her dazed expression, tried even harder to persuade her.
"Let me think about it, okay?" Sunny really wasn't in the mood to consider these things, but she didn't want to reject her outright.
Melissa let out a sigh of relief, thinking that maybe Sunny would come to her senses.
If she could continue to appear in the public eye at this time, it would be very beneficial for her to gain popularity. Melissa was leveraging Sunny's breakup with Leo to try to make her a star and use her to make a lot of money in the future.
"Alright, I'll give you time to think. You need to consider whether you want to be a big star and make Leo regret losing you, or continue to stay here, too afraid to even go out," Melissa said a few more words before leaving.
She believed that as long as Sunny was rational, she would consider her words.
After all, not many people would take the initiative to help her like this.
After Melissa left, Sunny glanced at the business card and put it down casually.
She really didn't have the mood to think about her future. She had no idea where Olivia was or if she was in danger.
"My phone!" Sunny suddenly remembered that the phone Olivia had given her contained that recording. Her mind felt like a tightly strung bow.
If Leo continued to check her phone, that recording might be exposed.
Perhaps it was true that what you fear will come to pass. The day after Leo sobered up, he endured his headache and returned home.
Seeing the two phones he had carelessly thrown on the floor, he picked them up.
"Damn, you tricked me!" Leo muttered under his breath.
Clearly, Leo, who rarely got duped, didn't like the feeling of being deceived by someone close to him.
It felt like being stabbed in the heart.
After glancing at the phones, Leo picked up the new one and unlocked the screen.
For some reason, Sunny hadn't set a screen lock on the newly purchased phone.
Leo unlocked it and casually browsed through its contents.
He first checked the photos, which were empty. Then he looked at the music, also empty.
Finally, on a whim, he tapped on the voice recording button.
Of course, he saw a recording entry from the afternoon Sunny had disappeared.
Leo's expression froze as he incredulously played the recording.
He heard the voices of Olivia and Sunny in the conversation.
Leo's entire body trembled slightly. He couldn't believe he had found a recording.
He listened to it without missing a word. Feeling cold all over, he then splashed his face with cold water in the bathroom. The piercing chill made him shiver, and he was truly awake now.
Leo returned to the living room, picked up the phone, and listened to the recording content again carefully.
Olivia's tone, filled with regret and a hint of reluctance, made Leo clench his fists in anger. What right did this woman have to feel remorse? She had hurt his parents for money and only now realized how cruel her actions were?
How ridiculous!
What chilled Leo even more was his uncle's behavior, which was detestable to the extreme.
To gain the right of inheritance, he had pretended to be a friendly and humble person, but behind the scenes, he had played such vicious and despicable tricks. It was he who had brought Olivia in and pushed her towards his father.
Did Olivia really look that much like his father's first love? He was naive, unable to distinguish between the woman he loved and the venomous one who had caused his death.
The more Leo thought about it, the angrier and more resentful he became. Finally, he took the phone and went to Blake's company.
On the way, his hands were tightly gripping the steering wheel, the veins on the back of his hands protruding, showing how much anger and resentment he was enduring.
"Sunny, I don't know whether you're kind or just stupid!" Leo muttered to himself, thinking of those beautiful eyes struggling with pain.
