Third Person's POV
Because she saw her mommy getting dressed every day, Ash was smart enough to know what to do.
She took the lipstick and started coloring Howard's lips, drawing crooked lines as if she were painting. She was super happy.
After she finished coloring Howard's face, the little one saw his hand lying nearby and began to grab his fingers, coloring them one by one.
Once she was done with that, she rolled off the bed with a "thump," her little legs "patter-pattering" as she walked to the foot of the bed. She grabbed Howard's toes with her chubby little hands and started her "artwork" again.
Howard felt a tickle in his foot and couldn't help but kick.
"Whoa!" The little girl lost her balance instantly, plopped down onto the floor, and burst into tears with a wide-open mouth.
Howard jolted up and rushed to the foot of the bed, thinking his daughter had been kicked off the bed.
"Daddy!" Ash, still holding the lipstick, saw Howard anxiously get out of bed to hold her. She immediately stopped crying and stretched out her little hand, wanting to draw on his face.
Howard then realized in horror that all ten of his fingers were painted red, and half of his toes were too. At that moment, the little girl was diligently drawing on his face.
Eda, hearing the cry, quickly pushed the door open.
When she saw Howard, she almost laughed herself silly.
"What is this?" Howard couldn't stand it and just put his daughter on the bed, spreading out his fingers, his face all twisted.
Eda, with one hand on her waist, was laughing so hard she could hardly breathe. She walked over and held the scared Ash. "Mmm, Ash was giving you a makeover. Not bad at all."
Howard saw Eda was about to take a picture with her phone and was so scared that he ran into the bathroom.
"What a pity!" Eda kept laughing. She really wanted to take a picture and share it with Benjamin.
Howard ran into the bathroom. The face in the mirror was so scary that it could give him nightmares.
Howard's handsome face, which he was so proud of, was now a total mess.
His lips were surrounded by a bright red, and his cheeks were dotted with red spots. Even his eyebrows weren't spared and looked like two caterpillars.
"This little one really needs some proper education!" Although Howard had been used as a drawing board, he wasn't actually angry.
As a father, wouldn't he be willing to do anything to make his daughter happy?
Howard washed his face several times before he finally got rid of the red. He came out of the bathroom and saw Eda still smiling.
Ash had no idea what trouble she had caused. Seeing Howard, she immediately reached out for a hug.
"Daddy!" Her sweet, soft voice was irresistible.
Howard picked up the little one and sat her on his strong arm, glancing at Eda who was still laughing. "Just wait till you have a kid."
Eda finally stopped laughing and raised her eyebrows triumphantly. "I'm not just a non-marrier, I'm also a DINK."
Howard, hearing this, silently mourned for his friend for three seconds. With such a strong-willed girlfriend like his sister, Benjamin must be having a headache.
"I'm off to work. Where are you heading later?" Eda, with her arms crossed, asked in a bossy manner.
Howard, his face now less arrogant and full of vigor, kissed his daughter's little cheek. "I'm planning to take Rowena and Ash out for some shopping."
"How's things going with Rowena? When are you bringing her home for a meal?" Eda had always been concerned about her brother's relationship.
"Not considering that for now!" Thinking of his mom's reaction, Howard decided it was better not to let them meet.
"This isn't a solution. Mom really needs to change her temper!" Eda also thought her mom was being too much.
"By the way, Cedrick really ticked Mom off last time. I actually really like Cedrick's personality—polite but not weak." Howard remembered the last time the Lawrence brothers came over for dinner. Mom thought Eda's boyfriend was Cedrick, but it turned out to be Benjamin.
This led to Mom's face falling and her starting to complain, only to be silenced by Cedrick's few words.
"Benjamin doesn't seem to mind it. I've also talked to Mom. I believe she won't bring it up again." Eda shrugged. Having such a picky and demanding mother, it was a miracle that neither she nor her brother had their values twisted.
"Benjamin really has a good temper. Don't always bully him!" Howard wanted to put in a good word for his friend.
Eda, however, said carelessly, "I just like bullying him. What are you gonna do about it?"
Howard was left speechless and sighed inwardly for his friend once more.
Eda suddenly remembered something annoying and turned to leave. Just as she reached the door, she felt a discomfort in her stomach and quickly ran back to her room, dry heaving in the bathroom for a few seconds.
"What's going on? Did I eat something bad?" Eda didn't like this reaction and muttered a few words, planning to go downstairs for breakfast.
But as soon as she smelled the cooking oil, she felt nauseous again. She decided not to go into the dining room and left the house directly.
Eda irritably took out her phone and called Benjamin, "My stomach feels bad. Come with me to the hospital for a check-up!"
