Third Person's POV
"Damn it!" Leo's heart lurched at the high-temperature reading, and he cursed under his breath.
He rummaged through the first-aid kit but found no spare fever-reducing medicine.
With Sunny in her current state, if her fever didn't subside quickly, she could end up delirious.
Leo glanced at the time. It was a little after three in the morning. Where could he find an open pharmacy at this hour?
Should he take her to the hospital? After a moment's thought, he decided to call his assistant instead.
The assistant, groggy from sleep, was jolted awake by the urgent call. He quickly dressed and rushed to the hospital to fetch the medicine.
Leo made a silent vow to reward his assistant handsomely for this.
At five in the morning, the assistant arrived with the fever-reducing medicine.
Leo expressed his gratitude, and the assistant was touched. He hadn't expected his usually aloof boss to become so considerate.
With the medicine in hand, Leo brought a glass of warm water and gently patted Sunny's cheek, "Wake up, babe. It's time to take your medicine."
"No, let me sleep a bit longer, please," Sunny, delirious from the fever, just wanted to keep sleeping.
"If you don't get up and take this medicine, I'll do something evil," Leo, not very patient, half-joked in a threatening tone.
Sunny jolted awake, her eyes widening as she struggled to sit up.
"Where did the medicine come from? Did you get it?"
"I had my assistant bring it. Let's get your fever down first."
"I'm so sorry about that," Sunny said, her face full of guilt.
"Knowing it's a hassle, yet you keep causing me trouble," Leo couldn't help but gently scold.
"I'm sorry," Sunny opened her mouth, swallowed the medicine, took a sip of water, and apologized.
Leo looked at her pale face, recalling how she hadn't rested or eaten well lately, and had visibly lost weight.
There was a special emotional bond between werewolf partners, allowing them to keenly sense changes in each other's physical and emotional states. Seeing Sunny so weak, Leo's heart ached.
"Sleep," Leo put the glass aside and held Sunny in his arms again, lying down with her.
After taking the fever-reducing medicine, Sunny broke into a sweat half an hour later.
Leo wiped her body with a wet towel continuously.
They went through this until dawn, when he finally fell asleep. Throughout the process of taking care of Sunny, Leo had no complaints, as if it was his duty as a partner. Werewolves were always wholeheartedly devoted to protecting and caring for their chosen mates.
When Sunny's fever subsided and she woke up in the morning, she looked at the deeply sleeping Leo beside her, her expression filled with guilt.
Although she had slept through the night in a daze, she could still feel how gently Leo had wiped her body.
She thought Leo was a complex person. He spoke harsh words but still cared for her deeply.
Sunny knew Leo was a tough-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside kind of man. He seemed aloof and unapproachable, but once you got to know him, he would be kind to you forever.
In the world of werewolves, once a partner was chosen, the bond was deep and lasting. Even if their expressions were sometimes forceful, the love and care they felt were very real.
Sunny couldn't sleep anymore and decided to get up and make breakfast for Leo.
However, as she was busy in the kitchen, she suddenly heard Leo standing at the door, clearly displeased, "Who said you could make breakfast?"
"I'm fine now." Sunny thought he was concerned and explained in a low voice.
"Put it down, you don't have to. You had a fever. You shouldn't be cooking. What if you infect me?" Leo's reasoning was firm, though his concern was genuine.
"……"
'Who was it that said yesterday he was so healthy and wouldn't get infected?'
'Did she hear wrong?'
"Get dressed. We're going out to eat, and then we'll go to the hospital for a check-up," Leo said, then turned and went to the bathroom.
Sunny had no choice but to put down the spatula and went to change her clothes.
They left the house and arrived at the hospital. This was the private hospital of the Royal Pack, equipped with top-of-the-line medical equipment and professional werewolf doctors who had a deeper understanding and research of werewolf anatomy, special constitutions, and various illnesses, providing more accurate and effective treatment plans.
They sat in the VIP room, waiting for the check-up.
A female doctor was assigned to examine Sunny and asked her to go into a separate room.
She inquired about Sunny's personal circumstances as a matter of routine. When the doctor asked when Sunny's last period was, Sunny was taken aback and began to think.
"I can't quite remember, maybe... it's been over a month," Sunny replied with embarrassment, as she had been so busy with work lately that she had lost track of such details.
"Over a month? Have you had intercourse recently?" the doctor asked.
"Uh, yes!" Sunny's face turned a bit red.
The doctor continued, "Have you been feeling unwell recently, such as vomiting, loss of appetite, or sleepiness?"
"I've been a bit sleepy and don't have much appetite," Sunny answered truthfully.
"Then you should get a blood test to see if you're pregnant. That way, I can prescribe the appropriate medication for your symptoms."
