Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 92. GOING TO FIND HER

Ch. 92 / 114 Sep 17, 2024

SOPHIA

"Dad!" I ran to hug him the minute I saw him.

He caught me and wrapped his arms around me. "it's going to be fine," he told me.

Adrian already made the phone calls and the police were here already asking questions and doing the needful to get Sarah back.

"I never expected she'd go that far but officer I want you to do what it takes to bring my daughter back," my father told the officer.

"We will do so," the officer assured him.

"Being discreet is what she said. Please her life is at stake so please..."

"We know our job Mr. Castillo and we will do our possible best to get her back," the man assured Adrian.

"Now that everything is all said and we have made our next move, we will keep in touch with you guys as we make our way there," the officer informed us.

"Thanks so much," Adrian shook hands with him.

The same officer and the other two that followed him shook my dad's hands before leaving.

I sighed, sitting down on the couch with so many thoughts in my mind.

Adrian came and sat beside me. He placed his arms around my shoulder as a means of comfortable.

"She will be fine, I assure you," he told me.

"I wonder how she must be doing? She has been gone for over a year now. I want to know what happened to her," My father sighed.

"For her to be able to reach out, she is still safe and needs our help. We will save her and that's it. She will be back home soon," Adrian said, sounding assuring and I cuddled into his arms.

"I will be leaving now. Please do contact me whenever you hear anything," My father requested Adrian.

"I will," Adrian replied.

"What's going on?" It was Jessica who had asked.

She was back from her house hunting because that was what Adrian told me she told me. As much as I told him I didn't care about her, he still made sure to tell me as if he knows I want to know what she talks to him about.

"It's nothing much," Adrian replied.

"Okay. Can I speak to you, Adrian?" She said and I closed my eyes refusing to be bothered.

At this point, I was tired of getting bothered by her and it was starting to be unhealthy. I just felt there was something up with her but what if they wasn't any and it's just in my head?

I excused myself and walked away, giving them the privacy they needed to speak. I walked into our room and lie on the bed.

I needed to close my eyes and rest because I was finding it hard as it is to think straight. I pray and hope Sarah is found safe and sound.

I took my phone to see the image of Sarah once again. She looks like my sister no more. It would have been hard to recognize her with the way she looked if not that I knew her well.

She has been beaten and looked unkept. I wonder what she must have been through for almost a year now.

"I miss you, Sarah," I whispered and lone tears slipped down my cheek.

The door opened and I quickly wiped my tears. I know it was Adrian and I didn't want him to see me in tears because he might eventually get more worried than I already am.

After some seconds, I felt the bed dip, signaling that Adrian had climbed on and he wrapped his arms around me.

"She will be fine," he said.

"I hope so," I replied, almost in a whisper.

For some reason, I had this scary feeling that it might be too late before they got to her and it mortified me. There was a lot I wanted to do and say to her and if I am unable to, it would kill me.

"It's going to be fine my love. She's fine. She sent that text with the hope that we will come for her so she will be fine," he assured me.

"What if... What if they caught her and..."

"Shhh..." Adrian cuts me off.

I turned to my other side so that I could be facing him.

"Do not cry my love," he wiped the tears in my eyes with his thumb.

"She's fine. She is fine. That should be the only words you tell yourself and the only words that ring in your head. Be optimistic," he told me.

"I want to but it's..."

"Shh," he placed his index finger on my lips, cutting me off.

"Say no more," I am here for you," he told me.

We lie on the bed, staring at each other. I did not realize when my eyes closed and I fell asleep.

ADRIAN CASTILLO

I have been in touch with police officers since Sophia fell asleep. I was glad she fell asleep because she needed it. She had just come back from the hospital and I do not want her stressed.

I just pray that she is safe and sound by the time that they reach her because I would love to see Sophia happy.

I entered the kitchen to get myself a bottle of water. Jessica was there already.

"Thirsty?" She asked and I nodded my head.

"You seem stressed. What's going on?" She asked.

I opened the fridge and the air from the fridge fanned my face before I closed it after taking a bottle of water.

"Sophia's older sister's location has been found. She sent the address saying she's in danger and so the police are going to get her," I informed her.

"Was her sister kidnapped?" She asked and I shook my head.

To be honest, I do not know the full details. Sarah ran away with her boyfriend and she sent a message saying she was in danger. Was she in danger at the hands of her boyfriend or did something else happened? That was the question I had in mind and only until the police got to the bottom of the situation would we know what happened to her.

"I do not know," I replied.

"It's going to be fine. I don't like to get involved because I'm sure you noticed that your wife isn't a fan of mine and I do not want to step my boundaries," she said.

That is actually what I do not understand. For someone like Sophia to not like her. I just don't understand it.

Sophia is starting to speak out lately compared to when I first knew her. She was a very quiet and shy girl who easily got scared but these past few months have been different and I like her outspoken version of hers.

"Are you a fan of her?" I asked her.

For some reason, I felt it was mutual from their side. They both didn't like each other and I noticed that. I might not say much but I have noticed it.

"What do you mean?" She sounded surprised.

"Are you a fan of Sophia? You say she doesn't like you but I feel the energy is from both sides," I told her.

"I'm not a fan of her doesn't mean that I am not trying to be close to her. She pushes me away and makes it seem like I'm out to get..." She trailed off.

"Get what?" I asked inquisitively.

"Nevermind," she said and I shook my head.

"The more you say never mind, the more curious I am to know," I told her.

She won't leave me hanging because I needed to know what is the main problem between them.

"She thinks I want you. She's worried I will take you away from her which is impossible. How can I take a married man from his wife? Help me make it make sense," she scoffed.

"She thinks so?" It doesn't sit well with me.

Sophia won't think so. She knows how much I love her and I have made it clear to her that I do and shown her a lot of time so that isn't a reason. There must be something I do not know.

"Yes. We spoke one time and she thinks I'm here with an ulterior motive but I made it clear to her that I am not," she answered.

Something doesn't sound right. There must be something more to this.
