Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 117 Boone's Death

Ch. 117 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Freya's POV

Late at night, I abruptly awoke, sensing a cold breeze seeping in from outside...

"Freya, open the balcony door," a voice echoed persistently in my mind.

I clenched my fists tightly, resisting the compelling command that echoed repeatedly.

Yet, the more I concentrated on resisting the intrusive voice, the more violently my head throbbed, as if my brain were on the verge of exploding...

Suddenly— a fishy sweetness surged in my throat, and a mouthful of blood sprayed out.

With blood still lingering at the corner of my mouth, my body had instinctively moved to the balcony's edge and unlocked it.

A shadowy figure entered, shrouded in the night's cold, promptly closing the curtains.

"What a beauty," remarked the visitor, revealed to be Boone, the Gamma of the Black Wolf Pack.

Anger flashed in my eyes. "Boone, if you must kill me, do it now."

"I will kill you, but not yet," Boone chuckled softly. "Right now, someone wishes to see you, and I must bring you to her."

I gritted my teeth.

"You're quite the rare beauty," Boone commented, lowering his head to sniff my neck.

His repugnant odor made me recoil.

At that precise moment, a hand behind me drew a gleaming knife and pressed it against Boone's neck.

Boone's expression turned cold, and he grinned awkwardly, placing the tip of his tongue against his palate.

I sneered at Boone. "Surprised?"

Boone chuckled sardonically. "I should have known that women like you don't yield easily."

Anticipating Boone's attempt to telepathically connect with Grace, I spoke icily. "Even if Grace uses witchcraft to command me again, I have the fortitude to resist. Do you think I'd choose to die in agony alongside you?"

Boone hesitated, but then he laughed softly. "I have hundreds of men. If you kill me, they will avenge me."

My fingers trembled.

"You'd better come with me." With that, Boone seized me the moment I froze and leapt off the balcony.

As soon as I reached the courtyard, a distinctive scent caught my attention. When I scanned the area, I noticed quite a few people hiding behind the green plants...

I could sense all of this, and Boone seemed to sense it too.

He twisted my arm with a backhand, his voice filled with anger. "I can't believe it. Turns out, you and Kingsley were well-prepared, just waiting for me to fall into your trap."

I pursed my lips.

Everything tonight was planned by us; Kingsley and his men had been hiding in the courtyard early on. I knew Kingsley would follow; that was the only thing I could rely on at the moment...

I said in a faint voice, "What can he do now that I'm in your hands? Get in the car and go."

Boone roughly pushed me into the driver's seat, running his hands over me to check for weapons before tying up both my hands.

"Be good. I'll let you go when we get to our destination."

Boone settled into the passenger seat, and the car sped off. Almost instantly, another car appeared behind ours—I knew it was the one Kingsley was in. Additionally, three or four cars flanked together behind us, blocking all the left turns and forcing Boone onto the main road.

"Damn, let's see how I force you to death!" Boone laughed fiercely, stepping on the gas pedal. As he sped, my hands, tied behind me, discreetly moved up my skirt. A knife was hidden at the back of my hip...

Having decided on this course of action, I wasn't going to let myself become passive. I gripped the knife handle and gently began to cut the rope...

"Bang!" The car was suddenly hit from behind.

I attempted to calm my mind. The number of cars on the road had dwindled to four or five, darting back and forth in pursuit of one another. It was only a matter of time before Kingsley caught up to Boone. However, with me in Boone's grasp, Kingsley would have to fall behind.

My eyes narrowed.

Seizing the opportunity as the car turned the corner, I lunged over, the knife in my right hand stabbing towards Boone's neck, aiming for the aorta. Simultaneously, my left hand turned the steering wheel, thudding against the guardrail.

At that very moment—

"BANG!"

A bullet sliced through the air, shattering the glass window and striking Boone squarely in the left side of his chest. His eyes, perpetually malevolent and eerie, widened, then he twisted his head to look at me, seated on his right side.

The knife in my hand punctured his neck, and blood began to flow. Shot in the chest, his black clothes instantly became stained with blood, and he gradually collapsed. Those eyes still gazing at me with shock.

"Freya! Freya!"

Kingsley pounded on the car window vigorously. With cold hands and feet, I pushed the car door open and dove into Kingsley's arms. "Kingsley, I killed him..."

Kingsley examined Boone's lifeless body himself, confirming the death in a minute. He bent over, brushing Boone's face and closing those grimy, lifeless eyes. "Find a place to bury him."

Kingsley then embraced me and headed toward a car behind him. "With Boone dead, Renee is bound to press on and align herself with the Rogues, causing chaos and seizing the opportunity to take power and form a new pack. While he's battling Grace's forces, that's our chance to strike," I rasped.

"As long as Boone is dead, none of those people are to be feared," Kingsley whispered as he hugged me. "Be good; it will all be over soon."
