Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 115 Something Is Wrong With Freya

Ch. 115 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Kingsley's POV

Late at night, I abruptly woke up. Freya lay asleep in my arms, but she wore a persistent frown, suggesting that her sleep was far from peaceful.

Leaning down, I tenderly planted a kiss on her forehead. However, as soon as my kiss landed on her forehead, Freya's long legs suddenly lifted.

As I was about to reach for her restless legs, Freya's foot kicked forcefully, connecting with my chest. Unexpectedly, this sent my half-kneeling body tumbling off the bed, landing on the carpet.

Regaining my senses and climbing back up, I found Freya standing on the bedroom balcony.

Outside, the evening wind was bitterly cold, and despite wearing a robe, I felt chilled—much more so for Freya, clad in a thin nightgown.

Approaching her, I asked, "Freya, what are you doing?"

She stood frozen on the balcony, her gaze fixated below.

Just as I moved closer, Freya gripped the cold parapet and leaped over it with a flip.

"Freya!" I exclaimed, fear gripping me. Hastily, I rushed over, extending my arms and catching Freya just before she jumped off.

"Freya, don't scare me!" I pleaded.

The next second, she broke away from my embrace, crouching down and covering her head.

"Freya, what's wrong with you?"

"No... My head! It hurts!"

"Freya, where does it hurt? Here?..." I gently placed my hand on her head, stroking it softly.

"Don't touch me, get out!"

Freya abruptly opened her eyes, their coldness chilling me.

Clearly, something was amiss.

Observing Freya closely, I saw her stand up and walk over to the window. She remained motionless, staring blankly into the dreary night.

The evening breeze blew gently, carrying fallen leaves with it. Moonlight softly enveloped Freya through the window.

I didn't know how much time had passed when Freya suddenly turned back to me and said, "Kingsley."

My heart, which had been suspended in the air, finally found its way back to its place. I walked to the edge of the balcony and embraced Freya.

She slowly turned her eyes towards me and asked, "What just happened?"

I stared at her and replied in a deep voice, "You suddenly rushed to the balcony and almost jumped."

"I... jumped?"

Freya's entire body froze.

She frowned, as if trying to recall what had occurred. The next moment, she covered her head in frustration. "Kingsley, I can't remember anything."

"I'll take you to the hospital tomorrow, it's okay." I held her gently, reassuring her, "Freya, don't stress. Our baby will come back safe and sound, trust me."

Freya grabbed my collar, "You don't think I jumped off the building because Grace took our baby, so I was so stressed that I even wanted to kill myself, do you?"

I pursed my lips in silence.

The recent significant event in our lives was this, and without it, I couldn't fathom why she had acted that way. Despite Freya's calm demeanor in the preceding days, our connection allowed me to sense the torment and pain she harbored within.

Contemplating this, I hugged Freya tightly.

She cupped my face and said, "Kingsley, I don't know what happened just now, but don't worry. No matter what occurs, I won't give up my life easily. Because my baby is still waiting for me to bring him back, isn't he?"

After hearing Freya's words, I finally breathed a sigh of relief. However, that scene kept replaying in my mind, preventing me from truly feeling at ease.

I lifted Freya in my arms and headed indoors. I locked the balcony window, helped Freya into bed, gently tucked her in, and turned off the nightlight.

In the darkness, I kept my eyes open, unable to sleep.

Thinking about all of Freya's recent unusual behavior, a hint of unease haunts me.

Suddenly, a horrible thought surfaced in my mind.

Could Grace have done something to Freya?

Early the next morning, I took Freya to the hospital for a checkup.

Freya lay on the bed with her eyes closed, and her face was pale.

"The patient may be experiencing a series of reactions caused by stress," the doctor whispered, "As a family member, you should spend more time with her to reduce stress."

"Thank you, doctor. I understand," I replied softly.

I walked to the balcony of the ward and immediately made another call. "Kellen, it's Kingsley. Do you have any time lately? I've got something going on over here, and I think I need your help."

Kellen was a witch doctor who once assisted me in breaking the oath bond between Tracy and me.

I suspected that Freya had been hexed by Grace.

Before I could finish my sentence, I heard movement behind me. I hung up the phone straight away and turned back to Freya's cold, emotionless eyes.

"Who were you talking to on the phone?" Freya's voice was monotone, without any emotional inflection, and she got up, lifting the covers to get out of bed.

My eyes narrowed, and I quickly walked over to hold her down, my voice low, "You're still on fluids, don't move."

"Kingsley, can you stop being so forceful and arbitrary!" Freya stared at me coldly. I looked at her silently.

"Freya, calm down," I said, gently taking her by the shoulders.

"Let go of me!" Freya's emotions suddenly went out of control, and she pushed me away.

She exerted too much force, and the needle was thrown out, blood soared out, splattering on the snow-white sheets.

I was about to assist her with the cut on the back of her hand when she ducked, saying, "Stay away from me, Kingsley. Get out!"

Freya quickly put on her shoes and left the hospital room. I embraced Freya as soon as I could.

"Let go of me! Release me!" Freya struggled vigorously, her strength marked by a faintly unrecognizable madness. The wolf inside her emitted a guttural, cranky low growl.

Despite Freya's resistance, I held onto her tightly, whispering, "Freya, don't do this. I'm Kingsley..."

"I know you're Kingsley. I don't want to see you. Just let go and don't touch me!" Freya was so intense that she pounded my chest hard, even opening her mouth to bite the back of my hand.

Regardless of her struggles, I refused to release my grip. A sharp pain shot through the back of my hand, and the scent of blood gradually filled the air. Eventually, her intense emotions began to subside.

"Freya, I'm Kingsley..." I repeated the words over and over.

I wasn't sure how much time passed, but Freya in my arms finally calmed down.

"Freya, go lie down on the bed, okay?" I suggested tentatively. Freya offered no resistance and obediently followed me to the hospital bed.

I gestured for the doctor at the door to come in and assess the situation. After a quick examination, I dismissed the doctor with a gentle wave of my hand.
