Isla POV
My brother Daniel was so stupid to challenge the alpha. Miller was much stronger and more powerful than my brother. Daniel was going to get himself killed at this rate.
“Stop. Now!” I ordered them.
Not that it made any difference since the crowd were going wild, cheering, and egging them both on.
I pulled myself away from the two idiots and pushed my way through the crowd.
Running through the pack house I frantically searched for my sister.
It did not take long before I saw her. She looked like she was a million miles away and it was obvious she was still upset about earlier when Daniel had lost his temper with us.
Now he wanted to play the big brother act like he used to. I could have handled Miller myself, but something ran deeper in Daniel. He held a lot of hatred towards the alpha.
“Isla, please do not leave. Stay the night. I need you here. Our mother needs you.” She touched my arm and looked at me with such a pleading look in her eyes that I could not say no. She was my sister and she needed me.
My mother needed me.
“This is all your fault. You stupid brat.” Mora screamed from the top of the staircase. She flicked her hair from her face and held her swollen stomach.
I had no time for her dramatic bullshit right now or any time to be honest.
She was a jealous fool. What more did she want from me? I had accepted his rejection, but I had not asked my brother to fight him.
“Well, Mora. Maybe if you hadn’t been all cosy with my brother earlier then he wouldn’t be so mad.” I spat back at her. I saw my sisters’ eyes widen in horror as she realised what I was saying.
Nudging me she gave me a look that said not to be so rude to the Luna.
As if I cared.
“You dare to disrespect me in my own pack. Do you forget that I am the Luna.” Mora retaliated but was interrupted by Aly and Jasmin rushing in.
“Isla.” Aly exclaimed as soon as they spotted me.
“Daniel is in the hospital, he backed down and Alpha Miller won. He’s asking for you. Jasmin managed to stutter while gaining her breath back.
“Daniel! Is he ok?” Mora suprised us with her sudden concern when she should be more worried about her precious Alpha.
Why was she so bothered about my brother.
“My brother is not your business.” I snarled.
Mora scoffed in disgust, but I ignored her.
“I have nothing to say to either of them. I am going to see my mother.” I retorted and Cora quickly followed me.
“Isla?” She called when we were out of their ear shot.
“What is it, Cora?” I kept my eyes focused ahead and wished this corridor was not so damn long.
“What did you mean when you said Mora was cosy with Daniel.” She wanted to know and looked at me waiting for an answer.
I let out a heavy sigh and shrugged my shoulders as we neared our mother’s bedroom.
“I said what I saw.” I started to say but was rudely interrupted.
“Isla, I demand you to come with me and talk. Alpha orders.” I spun around to see Miller standing down the hallway.
He made me so mad! Why could he not leave me alone. All I wanted to do was be with my mother. I had not even wanted to come here.
Cora squeezed my hand as if letting me know that it was ok. However, I did want to follow his stupid orders. He was not my alpha, so his tone made no affect on me whatsoever.
“Please Isla, go and speak with him. I will be right here with mother. Do not worry about anything.” Cora whispered to me and nodded. I glanced back at Miller and sighed.
“Fine, but only five minutes. I have my mother to worry about.” I scowled at him as he smiled at me.
Cora went into the bedroom and closed the door behind her, leaving me alone with this crazy numpty.
He was standing in front of me, I saw the cuts and bruises on his face but felt no sympathy for him. He deserved everything that he got after the way he had treated me.
I could not wait to get away from here, back to Eclipse Moon Pack, my happy place. I missed being there. If I could just pick my mother up and take her there, then I would.
In fact, which is exactly what I needed to do.
What did we really have here anymore?
“Isla, please accept my sincere apologies.” Miller said placing a finger under my chin and slowly lifting it, so our eyes met.
I pushed him away from me and he growled lowly, not liking my rejection towards him.
Reaching for my hand, he grabbed it and dragged me into one of the empty guest bedrooms.
“What do you think that you are doing?” I wrenched my hand back causing him to quickly apologise.
“I just want to talk to you. Please give me a moment of your time.” He begged.
“A moment of my time? Are you serious? You treated me like shit and now you want me to give you, my time. I owe you nothing.” I seethed with anger and clenched my fists into balls of fury.
He made my blood boil.
“You embarrassed me, rejected me, and took her as your Luna. What about her own fated mate? What about my mother? My brother that you almost killed out there.” I yelled at him. He stood against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest and a blank expression on his face.
Did he even care?
“I am sorry.” He finally mumbled pathetically, not even having the decency to look at me.
“Sorry. Oh, of course you are. My own mother is laying in there and you want me to speak to you so you can give me a stupid apology. I have no idea why the moon goddess would pair me to you, but I will happily be alone for the rest of my life. Never would I want to be with you. Go and be with Mora. Once I am done here, I will never be back.” I walked to the door and flung it open; it slammed hard behind me as I stormed off to my mother’s room.
Stopping outside her door, I regained my breath and calmed myself as best that I could before facing my mother and my sister.
I knew that Cora would question me over what I saw earlier with my brother and Mora.
