When Damon was seated in the plane, he was still preoccupied by the thoughts of home. But Gabe, on the other hand, was worried about what they left.
“Sir, is it okay to leave like this? What about the board?” He finally can’t help but ask in concern. Damon heard these and was pulled of from his thoughts. He turned to Gabe and knew he was just worried.
“It’s fine. I’ll let them be free for a few days. This will also be a good opportunity to see who will dare support that man.” A ruthless glint flashed in Damon’s eyes.
During the times he buried himself in work, he had already got a hint of who is the hidden force behind all the conflicts arising in his company.
And it was no other than his uncle, Mike.
Right now, he wanted to see what more he would do, and who are those rats that dared work for him.
And also, right now, his priority was to go home.
Through out the hours of the flight, Damon couldn’t even sleep or rest. He was restless about the things going on back home. He tried to call Anya countless times, but she wasn’t answering. His heart felt sunk.
Why does he feel like Anya is leaving him?
He clenched his fist and wished he could make the travel faster.
After what he felt like forever, he finally arrived home. When he left the airport, he went straight to house.
“Find out everything that happened.” He ordered Gabe before he entered his room.
He quickly took a shower and freshened up. The moment he was finished, he immediately changed to clean clothes and headed to the study.
When he arrived, he saw Gabe was already there.
Gabe saw his boss arrived and can’t help but swallow nervously. Because what he ordered was not hard to find. In fact, it was all over the news.
“Sir..” Gabe voice can’t help but stammer as he handed him the reports.
Damon quickly took the documents and red it. not long after, his hands shook as the papers were crumpled by his tight grip.
Something like this actually happened?! Damon felt like real shit right now.
He threw the documents harshly on the floor as he ran his fingers in his hair in frustrations.
His first feelings were pain. Pain for his woman who had to go through all of that. And thinking of not being there for her lowest times, he felt heartbroken.
“Find out who did this!” He growled angrily at Gabe.
Gabe was scared witless and he could only nod and hurriedly leave follow the boss’ orders. Damon was fuming now. He knew his sweet woman would never do this kind of act. There can only be a perpetrator for this. he had a hint, but he wanted full proof.
The next moment, he grabbed his keys and hurriedly went out to go to Anya. Thinking of what she is feeling and going through now, felt awful even to Damon. He needed to go to her right away.
When he arrived, he saw reporters waiting outside her building. He immediately became upset. It was still very early, and they were already outside.
His eyes darkened as he made some calls. No one would offend and target Anya while his here. After the call and making sure that the reporters would be getting rid of, he entered the building in a VIP entrance.
The manager of the building saw this big person and was immediately humbled and hurried to cater him.
“Sir, what can I help you? I can lead you to where your business is.” The manager said amicably.
Damon mentioned Anya’s unit number. He was extremely worried right now. “Is she fine?” He can’t help but ask while they are in the way.
The manager immediately froze when she heard the number. “Sir..” She could only respond quietly, not sure what to say.
When Damon noticed the weird reaction of the manager, he stopped in his track. “Did something happen?” He asked darkly.
The manager panicked as he felt the oppressing pressure Damon was giving her and felt if he said something wrong, he would be done for.
“Sir.. the resident in that unit just left yesterday.” She answered, her voice gradually becoming small.
“What?!” Damon exclaimed.
Left? Where could she be? Was she scared of the reporters? Did they mobbed and hurt her to fled away?
Damon’s growing anger to the people hurting Anya reach to the high intense. His eyes were dark and his expression was ugly. He’ll make sure they will have their time.
He turned back and hurriedly left. He needed to find Anya.
He was about to make some calls to track her location, but he suddenly had a hunch where she could be at the moment.
That’s right. Her friend. She might be staying there.
Damon speeded his steps and entered his car. He knew the address of Anya’s friend and went directly to there.
When he arrived, he didn’t waste any second and knocked on her door. The door opened and he was met by a woman.
“Where’s Anya?” He asked breathless. It was only the he realized he was out of breath. His heart was anxious and all crunched up. He wanted to see his lady.
Marie didn’t expect Damon to appear at her door step and was stunned. But then, her anger suddenly raised.
“You still have the nerve to look for Anya?! Why, are you rushing to invite her and make sure she comes to your engagement?” Marie said sarcastically.
Marie just had the shock of her life this morning when she saw Anya’s message that she was leaving. She also left the invitation in her mailbox, and only then Marie realized what happened. She didn’t expect the man she had high hopes to be with her friend, would still betray her.
Men are really trash!
“Leave! And rush back to your Veronica, not here!” Marie can’t help but exclaim as anger rushed to her.
Damon furrowed his brows as he heard these ridiculous words.
“What the hell are you talking about?” He retorted back harshly. His face was already not good as he stared at Marie intensely.
Marie took a step back as she was still overwhelmed by Damon. But she clenched her hands and turned back to get the invitation.
Damon’s eyes darkened when he saw Marie turn her back on him and was about to call her back angrily. But the he saw her comeback, only that, she was holding a white envelope. “See for yourself!” Marie angrily handed him the invitation.
Damon was puzzled at this and took it. when he opened it, he can’t believe what his seeing. It was a ridiculous invitation for an engagement he didn’t even know about!
Damon immediately became furious as the aura he was emitting can put anyone down on their knees.
His eyes flashed with danger.
