“George!” Lily exclaimed as she saw him slapping her daughter. She rushed to Veronica and hugged her in her arms.
“Why are you hurting our daughter!” She screamed.
Veronica saw her mother and hugged her while she wept. Her face was still stinging and she was still in disbelief of what her father did to her.
George watched the two women on the ground, but his expression didn’t soften. He threw out more ruthless words.
“Do you know Damon is going to sue you? Do you still have the time to act stupid and do stupid things?!” He scolded as he pointed at Veronica.
These words shook Veronica to the core. She felt her ears were playing games at her. “Dad, what?” Veronica asked incredulously.
George clicked his tongue and scolded his daughter even more.
“Yes you heard right! Because of your stupidness, you might and up in jail! I can’t believe I have such a daughter!” He spitted up the words. He was extremely disappointed to this daughter of his.
Because she was his only daughter, he doted her greatly. And his wife, Lily, was also fond of tolerating all Veronica’s actions, even if it’s wrong.
In his mind, he justified his daughter’s actions as something young ones would do. She was still yet to mature.
But now, he regretted he raised his daughter as so. Have he spoilt her too much? That she forgets her propriety and not care of her family whenever she does things?
These thoughts triggered George anger even more.
“Veronica, you don’t even contribute to our family’s company. Only knowing how to burn cash! And now, all you do is create problems for me?! You useless and ungrateful daughter! If you really fall into prison, you can only blame yourself!” George exclaimed.
Veronica began to feel fear. She shook her head, unable to believe such things. George looked in disdain at his daughter then turned toward Lily and scolded her too.
“Look at the daughter you raised! You raised a useless one! You are a disgrace to my family!” George ruthlessly spitted out.
Lily and Veronica were speechless, as this is the first time the gentle and soft spoken head of the house spoke to them like this.
George harrumphed and turned his back against them. He left, still fuming, leaving Lily and Veronica on the ground.
“Mom..” Veronica called out weakly as she started to feel scared.
Lily also felt very worried of her daughter, but she could only hug her in her arms. “Shh. Don’t worry, your father only said that but he won’t forsake you. He will surely do something about this.” Lily said to Veronica as she patted her back.
The mother and daughter both hugged each other in comfort, with anxiousness feeling their heart.

Veronica sat in her room, still very anxious. She had also heard that Damon pushed through with the acquisition of their company, and the Ambrosia was in the verge of bankruptcy.

This was what the message said as well as an address to a famous and luxurious restaurant. She was taken a back by this. It was very suspicious, but at this time, Veronica was already desperate. She also saw the address was safe and luxurious, so she decided take the risk.
She got ready to leave and went straight to the restaurant. When she arrived, she was immediately approached by a waiter.
“Good afternoon, Ma’am. Are you Miss Ambrosia?” The waiter asked. Veronica turned to him and nodded aloofly.
The waiter then smiled amicable and extended his hand to lead her. “This way, Ma’am.” He said.
Veronica raised her brows as she thought that this mysterious person had already prepared a reservation.
The waiter led her to a private room, and Veronica entered it directly. When she went in, she froze at the sight of the person inside.
“You?” She asked incredulously.
Andrei raised his head towards her and smirked. He pointed at the seat in front of him. “We meet again, Ms. Ambrosia. Seat.” He simply said.
Veronica glanced at him, dissatisfied. But she still sat on the seat in front.
She didn’t expect she would be meeting this man here. She looked down at this man and disdained him even. Why is she meeting such a person now?
“I bet we are meeting a major personage here? Where is that person?” Veronica asked nonchalantly.
If he was the one who called her hear, then he should not be alone, as he stated the Ambrosia would be assisted.
Andrei smiled and leaned on the table with both elbows leaned on it. “It’s me. I am the major personage.” He said coolly as he smirked at her. Veronica looked at her like he was mad man and laughed disbelievingly. “You?” She pointed at him mockingly.
“How could a stray dog like you save my company?” Veronica asked harshly. Andrei smiled as he leaned back on his chair. He looked haughtily at Veronica. “Oh, I forgot to add my introduction. I am now the partner of Rodrigo Roberts of INT conglomerate, both in business, and in life.” He revealed.
Veronica froze as she heard his words. Rodrigo Roberts? That Rodrigo Roberts? The alpha boss of a very large group of companies in China?
Veronica might not be a very business minded person, but she knew the people at the top of the pinnacle of their circle.
