“Sir, the Ambrosias are here.” Gabe announced to Damon.
Damon was in his office doing paper works when he received the report. He looked up and furrowed his brows.
Is the act starting now? He thought amusedly. He smirked and ordered to let them in.
George and Veronica were led inside Damon’s office and saw the bright and outstanding man behind the desk.
Veronica was taken a back. She expected that Damon should look stressed and angry by now. Why does he look more refreshed?
Unbeknownst to Veronica, Damon is really more bright and happy these days. How could he not be happy and content when he has his family right beside him?
But George didn’t mind that now and greeted Damon heartily.
“Damon! How is business doing?” He strode casually inside Damon’s office and asked lightly with a smile.
Damon returned a nonchalantly smile, but he wasn’t up to playing with words with this person. “What brings Mr. Ambrosia here?” He directly asked as he leaned on his chair. He didn’t even stand to greet them when they arrived.
George saw this and was a bit dissatisfied.
“You know Damon, this fight for my company had been going on. At this rate, your company will go bankrupt. And I am not that heartless.” George sighed dramatically, as he stared warmly at Damon.
“You are like my son! Our family were close for a long time now, isn’t not?” He added. Damon only stared at the middle aged man, not saying anything.
George smiled once again and finally said their purpose.
“I came here to offer you a favor. It will save your company, even if it is in a verge of bankruptcy, we are willing to accept you in our family.” He said with a smile of an elder as he gestured to his daughter behind him.
“As long as you marry my daughter, Veronica, we will stop this fight. We have a financial support now, and my source will be willing to have the Castellanos Group of Company, under their wing.” George offered.
Damon finally can’t help but laugh.
What a ridiculous idea. These people really think of him as someone stupid. “No thank you.” Damon answered without second thought.
The sympathetic words George prepared to say was stuck on his throat. He didn’t expect Damon would reject his offer without thinking.
Veronica, in the back, also clenched her hands, dissatisfied.
“Damon, this is not the time to be stubborn. Think of the company my good friend and your dad built. The staffs and employees you have! Spare them form your pride!” George exclaimed as he lectured Damon like an elder.
Damon had a smile on his face but there was no mirth in his eyes. It held darkness and ruthlessness, as spit out his words.
“I don’t need Mr. Ambrosia sympathy and lecture. You might be forgetting who you are talking to.”
Veronica finally can’t keep quiet.
“Damon! Wake up! You are in a verge of crisis, and only I, can save you! Can’t you see my love for you for all these times? There could only be me who can stay by your side.” Veronica said these heartfelt words while approaching Damon.
She needed to make him realize her worth. And that, she is the one who can pull him out of predicament.
“My, you think too highly of yourselves.” Damon chuckled as he was starting to loose interest with this farce. He crossed his legs and looked at them, unfazed.
“I’m not interested. And I think it’s a bit to early for you to be saying these. I’ve heard enough. You can leave.” Damon said these sharp words with a graceful smile.
George and Veronica were taken a back. They didn’t expect Damon to be stubborn. They were stunned until Damon called for his secretary to lead the out.
George woke up from his thoughts and stared at Damon with disappointed eyes. “You’ll regret this.” He said as he brushed his suit to leave.
Veronica pursed her lips as she looked back and forth between her father and Damon. She turned towards Damon again with frustration.
When she saw his secretaries approaching, her expression turned ugly before following her father out.

Veronica was inside the car. She was heading to Castellanos mansion to meet Amanda. She was currently very dissatisfied with Damon’s action. When will he budge?!
She thought frustratingly.
She decided to tell this to Amanda. Maybe, she could convince Damon. They were giving them a saving grace, so she believed Amanda would see this.
When she arrived, she was directed towards the garden where Amanda was.
She saw the middle aged woman enjoying her tea in a table in the middle of the garden. She approached and greeted her.
“Aunt Amanda,”
Amanda turned to Veronica.
“Veronica, you’ve come.” She noted as she placed the tea cup on the table. Veronica sat in front of Amanda and complained.
“Aunt, Damon is so stubborn.”
“What? Why?” Amanda asked with furrowed brows.
“Aunt, the Castellanos and my Ambrosia company are currently in a competition because of the acquisition. The boards are dissatisfied with Damon that’s why they are pulling out their shares! Because of this, Damon is in a crisis.” Veronica informed her.
“What?!” Amanda exclaimed. She was truly not informed of such happenings.
“Don’t worry, Aunt. My dad had negotiated with Damon, that as long as he marries me. We’ll stop. At that time, the Ambrosia and the Castellanos will merge!” Veronica happily tattled to Amanda. She was a bit proud now. She was no longer begging for favor with Amanda, but saying how she could save her son in this moment.
Because of her bliss, Veronica failed to see the frost in Amanda’s eyes.
“But Aunt, Damon is so stubborn. He is still rejecting the offer.” Veronica sighed dramatically. She then turned to Amanda.
“Aunt you need to tell Damon! We could save him if he only agrees!” She then convinced Amanda.
Amanda looked coldly at Veronica.
“You did what?” Her icy voice cut Veronica’s thoughts.
She was taken a back as she saw Amanda’s ugly expression. “Aunt?”
“Veronica, I didn’t know you were such a hypocritical woman.” Amanda stood and looked down at Veronica with strict eyes.
“You dared trap and blackmail my son?” she added with a heavy voice. Veronica was startled as she stood up too.
“Aunt, I, that’s not what we-“ Veronica couldn’t continue her words. She didn’t expect Amanda would take offense with this.
“My Castellanos family will not fall in the hands of people like you!” Amanda exclaimed as she turned back.
“See the guest out.” She ordered coldly at the maid and left the garden.
Amanda was still a high woman who wouldn’t want to step down at a pedestal. How could she let her family be indebted to others?
She took her phone out to call Damon. She was extremely dissatisfied someone tried to act against Damon and make problems for him. As a mother, she was very worried.
After a few rings, it was picked up.
“Mom?” Amanda heard her son’s normal voice. “Damon! Are you alright?” She asked worriedly. “Why?” Damon responded.
“Veronica was just here and she mentioned what was happening! Is everything fine? I can’t believe they are such people!” Amanda exclaimed.
Damon on the other line sighed. He was glad his mother woke up from being bewitched by that family.
“Mom, don’t worry. I’m fine. It takes more of this to beat me. And I won’t let them.” Damon assured his mother.
Amanda heard this and was a little calm, but she was still worried. “Are you sure?” She can’t help but ask again.
“Yes, Mom, I’m fine. I won’t let these people lay their hands on the Castellanos Group of Companies.”
