Veronica pursed her lips and looked up to her father once again.
“I’ll go to Aunt Amanda. She’ll surely help me.” She said assuredly to her parents.
George and Lily looked at each other. George had a bit of confidence to Amanda, while Lily, although she was dissatisfied, can’t help but agree just to save their family.
With this, Veronica quickly headed to the Castellano’s Mansion. In the car, she had been rubbing the corner of her eyes for her to seem like she was crying.
With her pitiful and innocent expression sporting, she entered the Castellanos mansion. A maid led her to the living area, and she saw Amanda waiting there with a cup of tea.
“Veronica?” Amanda started to ask as she wanted to know what brought the young woman here but she was stunned when Veronica rushed to her while crying.
“Aunt!” Veronica sobbed as she sat next to Amanda.
“Goodness! What happened?” Amanda asked concernedly as she patted Veronica’s shoulder. “Auntie, Damon is attacking our family again!” Veronica sobbed as she told her what Damon did to their company.
Amanda was stunned when she heard the happenings. “What? Why would he do that?!” She asked incredulously.
Veronica wiped her tears and sniffed. She cleared her throat and told her what she did, but twisting it to her favor.
“Aunt, I just told Anya that me and Damon are engaged already, and that Damon doesn’t deserve such a woman! I wanted to push her away from the lives of everyone!” She tattled dramatically.
Amanda still had her mouth agape as she listened to all the happening of this day when she heard the maid announced.
“The master is here!”
Damon walked in inside the mansion. He was picking up his son for them to go home. It was already dawn when he arrived earlier, so he only had the time now to meet his son. He remembered his son’s message that urged him to go home, and he wanted to see him again even more.
When he entered the living area he saw his mom, but she wasn’t alone.
He just saw the woman who was the most unsightly person in his eyes right now. He stopped in his track as he stared at the two women expressionlessly.
“What is that woman doing here?” He asked in acid cold voice.
Amanda and Veronica both stood up from their seats. They looked at each other and Veronica gave Amanda a pleading look.
Amanda pursed her lips and turned to her son.
“And why not? She’s welcome here. And what is this that I heard that you attacked the Ambrosia company again?!” Amanda retorted back.
Damon scoffed at this and continued his steps towards the stairs.
“You can’t change my mind. I don’t like people who lies and set me up in a trap!” He spit the words coldly.
“Damon!” Amanda stepped in and obstructed his way.
“You can’t do that! The relationship between the two companies had ties from long ago! Respect that!” Amanda argued as she looked at Damon dissatisfyingly.
“Mom, you don’t need to meddle with my business. I’m just protecting it from rats and scams!” Damon answered as he threw a disgusted look at Veronica.
Receiving this kind of look, Veronica’s heart clenched as she looked at Damon anxiously. “No! You can’t just forget past relationships just because of a woman!” Amanda exclaimed. Damon sighed irritatedly and took the invitation out.
“Do you see this? She made something like this up! How vile is that woman?” Damon showed the envelope to his mother.
Amanda looked at it and glanced at Veronica. She pursed her lips and looked back at Damon. “I made this!” Amanda announced.
Damon froze as he stared at his mother incredulously. “What?”
Amanda looked at her son like she didn’t do anything wrong.
“What? You two are really that way in my eyes, so what’s wrong with what I did? And sooner or later, you would be marrying Veronica, because I wouldn’t let you marry that other woman!” She dropped her words like a bomb.
Damon’s expression became ugly in knowing what his mother did.
“Mom, did you just meddle with my life?” Damon’s words were tight and he said this with gritted teeth.
Amanda was quite scared as she thought maybe, this was too much. but they were already here, so she could only look at Damon silently.
“I am the head of the Castellanos, and no one could tell me what to do.” Damon’s dark and low voice rang across the room. Even Veronica felt tense when she heard this.
Damon looked at both women and tightened his expression.
“I’ll let them go this time. But starting from now, no one meddles with my life.” He added as he passed by his mom.
Amanda sighed as she turned to Veronica. Veronica too, who was tense, could only look at Amanda stiffly.

Damon went to his son’s room to fetch him. He saw he was already asleep, so he just opted to carry the child and went out.
While walking out, he didn’t pay any mind to the other people at the mansion and directly left and entered his car.
Gabe sat in the passenger seat, while his boss and the little master was in the back. Suddenly, he heard Damon’s words.
“Withdrew all the actions against the Ambrosia.” Damon said quietly as he stared out.
His eyes were still cold and had a hint of danger within them. Oh well, I’ll get back at them in another way.

“Thank you.” Anya said to the woman who handed her the flyer.
She looked at the list of rental spaces, and chose where to check first.
She sighed as she tightened her coat and looked around her. She just arrived her in the new city, a couple of miles away from the capital.
When Anya left, she decided stay in this city and start a new life. Here, she rented a small apartment and bought a few necessities.
After looking around the area, she felt it was a suitable place to live in and wanted to start anew. The first thing she thought of is how to fend herself in this new place. It was just a small city with not much grandeur infrastructures, so she knew that starting a studio for real estate and designs would be hard here. This was her first dilemma in her new life.
But when she looked around and found the warm and cozy place as well as the people, an idea suddenly popped inside her head.
A hobby that she had forsaken for a long time. And it was baking.
When she was young, she liked to bake. But when she became an adult, she also fell in love with designing, and looking at the economical benefits, she chose to pursue designing.
But now, looking at her situation, she thought it would be lovely to go back to her love in baking. So now, she was looking for a place to rent to have her small bake shop.
While she was looking around, she heard a voice call out to her. “Anya?”
When she turned back, she saw an unexpected person. “Alex?”
.
.
“So that’s how it is.” Alex could only say as he heard the story from Anya.
Anya sighed and nodded. She told Alex what happened back at the city, and she was still down about it.
“Why didn’t you tell Damon? He would certainly help you.” Alex said. Anya bit her lips, and she lowered her head.
“It’s no use. He is marrying Veronica now.” She whispered quietly. Alex was taken aback.
“What? Why didn’t I know about this?” He said as he was quite doubtful and dissatisfied. Doubtful because if it that’s the case, Damon would surely mention it to him. and dissatisfied as he was very dissatisfied with Damon for hurting Anya like this.
Anya heard Alex’s words and thought, since he was Damon’s friend, he might justify his actions. So she only sighed and brush it off.
“I don’t know. I don’t want anything to do with them now. Actually, I am very tired and suffocated with my life right now, that I chose to leave. I wish to start a new here, so I hope, I’ll do well.” Anya said dully, as she looked at the view outside.
Alex felt Anya’s melancholy and thought, the woman who was bright, cheerful, and full of positivity was all gone now.
Deep inside his heart, he liked Anya. He wanted her to be happy and safe, and he thought it was with Damon. But if being in his world would turn her into this, then he’d rather choose for her to walk away as well.
Alex looked at the flyers in front of Anya and tried to change the conversation. “You’re looking for a space to rent?” He asked.
Anya woke up from her daze and looked at the flyers in front of her too. She nodded her head. “Yeah, I’m planning to open a small bakeshop.” Anya smiled slightly.
Alex gave her a gentle smile and offered. “I can help you.”
He said warmly.
In his heart, he whispered, he might hide her here and keep her to himself.
