Tabitha's POV
Laughter rang out as I calmly glanced around.
There were a total of eleven shifters in the room, nine he-wolves and two she-wolves. Besides me, there was another she-wolf curled up in the corner.
Since they were all condemned prisoners, no doubt that they were ruthless.
I knew Derek must have had a backup plan, and at least one of these guys had to be on his side.
I then found an empty corner to hunker down in. Just then, the man who first spoke to me started striding over.
It must've been a long time since he had taken a shower, as the stench he got was almost unbearable.
He loomed over me, with one hand pressing on the wall right next to my ear.
I frowned and asked in a cold voice, "What do you want?"
"I don't care how you got here. But now that you're on my turf, you gotta listen to me. Once I give an order, you'll have to obey, get it?"
I looked him dead in the eye, asking, "What do you want me to do?"
Hearing my question, he grinned lewdly, revealing his yellow teeth. "It's all men here; now we've got a lady. What do you think we wanna do? Strip down and let us have some fun."
The other he-wolves started closing in on me too, their eyes roaming up and down my body. "She might not be a looker, but she's got a nice figure. Look at her boobs and butt. I bet they feel good.
"Jamar, you go first and let me be the next, okay?
"What are you staring at? Get those clothes off or I'll pop your eyeballs out!"
"Relax. She's shy. Let's do it ourselves."
Before the guy could lay a finger on me, I grabbed his wrist and threw him over my shoulder. Just like that, he slammed into the ground, howling in pain.
I did it so fast that none of them could stop me in time.
There were no professional killers in the room I was in, so their fighting skills weren't as good as mine, which was why I managed to catch them off guard.
"You're so dead!" Jamar swung at my face with a scowl.
However, I acted decisively and forcefully, shoving his head into that of another one with a loud bang.
Then, I smashed the only bowl in the room, making a harsh sound. Grabbing a shard, I pressed it against one guy's neck.
"If you wanna die, I can send you to hell now," I snapped, my voice icy.
Thanks to all the training Dad had forced me to do when I was a kid, I got a solid foundation. The past few months of practice really leveled me up.
In the past, I'd been too kind-hearted toward everyone, holding on to the naive belief that they would treat me the same.
But now, having cut off all ties and burned every bridge behind me, I became fierce and resolute.
In just ten seconds flat, I'd taken down several big guys by myself.
When Devin rushed over, I was holding that shard while everyone else looked disheveled.
"Devin, this chick is brutal!" Jamar complained before I even had the chance to explain myself.
Devin instantly shot back, "If you guys behaved yourself, would she have to take action? I'm warning you, starting tomorrow, we'll begin the special training. And anyone who dies here will be fed to the fish. So don't cause any trouble!"
I dropped the shard and flexed my right wrist, which wasn't as nimble as my left hand but still good enough for now.
After being warned, those guys didn't try to do anything to me again, but those predatory looks still lingered in their eyes.
Clearly, this feud wasn't going away anytime soon. As I returned to my corner, my gaze casually swept across everyone again.
Just now, the five guys led by Jamar had definitely formed an alliance already.
Aside from the she-wolf in the corner, there were still four men in the room.
Two of them curled up sleeping with their heads tucked down while another two were either leaning against the wall or doing pull-ups.
It was like everything that just went down didn't even faze them. They didn't even glance our way.
Sensing my gaze, the guy leaning against the wall suddenly looked up.
As our eyes locked, I started to scrutinize him. He had messy hair falling over his right eye, radiating a whole "stay away from me" vibe.
Who exactly was the person working for Derek?
Crystal murmured inside me, "Everyone here seems suspicious."
