Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 403

Ch. 403 / 840 May 06, 2026

Third person's POV

Derek walked briskly out of the door, deliberately lowering his voice. "Hey."

"Alpha Derek, has Tabitha come around? How is she now?" Kamp pressed on.

Tabitha had been out cold for three whole days since she was injected with M-1, and she should have come around by now.

Derek provided a brief update on Tabitha's condition, and Kamp let out a sigh of relief.

"That's good to hear. I was worried..."

Kamp had been feeling uneasy lately, recalling a year ago when Tabitha had a high fever and dangerously low white and red blood cell counts.

Usually, such low levels could mean she had undergone treatment to get wolfsbane out of the body, but later Tabitha's medical examination report showed no problems, so Kamp didn't ask about it.

M-1 was quite unusual. Besides affecting pregnant women, the elderly, and children with weak immune systems, it could also be lethal for werewolves poisoned with wolfsbane.

Every now and then, Kamp would remember how pale and ghostly Tabitha looked back then.

"What were you worried about?"

"I was just concerned about Tabitha's ongoing health issues and the potential adverse reactions to M-1. So, it's a relief to know she's okay."

After a moment's thought, Kamp added, "Please keep a close watch on her condition. If anything seems off, contact me immediately."

"Okay."

Tabitha caught the name in Derek's phone—Kamp.

It was clearly a man's name. Why did Derek go to answer the phone without letting her listen?

Considering it further, it was obvious that Derek must be quite wealthy, given the size of the villa and the clearly expensive furnishings.

Tabitha speculated that Derek might be an executive. Then it made sense that he might have to contact an important client.

At that time, Tabitha was still unaware of Derek's true identity.

Although she had some doubts, there was plenty of time to uncover the truth gradually.

She shrugged it off and went downstairs to explore the villa, finding that the décor and every ornament were styled exactly to her taste.

An Omega, finishing the dishes and munching on a cucumber, remarked, "Of course, Tabitha, you chose everything carefully. Even the slippers were picked with thought. So, even if you lose your memory, everything still feels familiar."

"Were we on good terms?" Tabitha asked.

The Omega took another crunching bite of cucumber. "Of course, you and Alpha Derek fell in love from the start, which is why you became mates. I remember when I was still in the old house, hearing about how you learned to cook delicious meals for Alpha Derek, making a different dish every day. He would cook for you too when he had time, and you loved the mushroom soup he made the most."

Speaking of this, the Omega's face lit up with happiness. "Back then, Alpha John was still alive. In autumn, he'd come here. There was a huge ginkgo tree in the yard where you'd swing, and Alpha John would catch you from below. Alpha Derek would be in the kitchen preparing meals. Those days were truly nostalgic."

Tabitha learned from the Omega's story that she and Derek had once been a perfect match, seemingly destined for each other.

When her gaze fell upon the delicate pink rose on the table, a scene flashed before her eyes—a woman let out a heavy sigh at the withered stem of the flower.

Tabitha picked up the rose, and a sharp pain in her fingertips brought her back to reality.

She lowered her head and glanced at the blood flowing from her fingertips, feeling somewhat unreal.

"Tabitha, why were you so careless?" Derek said, rushing over. "It's my fault. I should have trimmed the thorns. Let me get a band-aid."

Derek swiftly took Tabitha's hand, gently sucked the blood from her fingertips, and spit it into the trash can. He then applied a cute band-aid to her wound.

"Be careful," Derek whispered softly.

Tabitha blinked, nodded, and looked up, meeting his deep, affectionate gaze.
