Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 406

Ch. 406 / 840 May 06, 2026

Derek's POV

The recent Tabitha reminded me of the time when we never had any disagreements.

Back then, she was innocent and full of passion every day.

Her smile was a great morale booster for me whenever I felt troubled or down.

My unintentional love confession instantly flustered Tabitha.

With her so close, her charm nearly made me lose my composure.

Tabitha quickly averted her gaze and said, "These cherries are really big, and they're so sweet."

I replied, "I'm glad you like them."

It took me quite a while to prepare these foods, but I didn't eat much.

After finishing shelling the lobster for Tabitha, I immediately turned to my laptop to handle some business matters.

Seeing this, Tabitha couldn't help but ask, "By the way, I still don't know what you do besides being the Alpha of the Black Thorn Pack. What's your other work?"

I answered succinctly, "Something related to management."

Little did she know I was using work to distract myself.

After all, she was so adorable, and I really didn't wanna lose control in front of her.

Tabitha had a lot of lobsters and fruits.

I was pretending to be dealing with my work attentively when she turned her head to me again.

She held a cherry up to my lips and asked, "Um... Do you want some?"

I remembered that she often fed me food in the past. Now, without even looking, I opened my mouth.

As my tongue touched the cherry, it accidentally brushed against Tabitha's fingertips.

I noticed a hint of shyness in her as a blush crept onto her face.

Then she said, "I've had too much. I'm going to take a walk to help with digestion."

She seemed completely unaware that behind her, my eyes were fixed on her intently as if she were my prey.

Tabitha's POV

I had a perfect day today.

Derek's gentleness and thoughtfulness eased the unease I felt from losing all my memories.

He treated me like a princess.

The unopened shower gel was also my favorite. Sitting in the bathtub, I was surrounded by bubbles and sweetness in the air.

I felt like I was a young girl now who just began to understand love.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my abdomen, making me frown and gasp.

I couldn't help wondering, 'Did I bump into something?

'I guess I need to be more careful.'

A couple of minutes later, I finally felt better.

When I got out of the bathroom, it was already an hour later.

I expected Derek, the workaholic, to still be busy, but to my surprise, he was sitting on the bed, doing nothing.

Seeing me, he patted the space next to him with a gentle smile and said, "Tabitha, come here."

I sighed inwardly, thinking, 'Well. I have to face this anyway.'

I stood there, feeling embarrassed and trying to find a way to explain without hurting Derek's feelings. After all, he loved me so much.

"Derek, I lost my memory, so..." I stammered.

But before I finished my words, Derek smiled gently, "I understand. Don't worry, I won't push you."

He then lifted the quilt and walked towards me, taking my hand with care. "You have lost your memory and forgotten your feelings for me, and I totally understand that. Tabitha, I'll give you time to get to know me again. I'll let you fall in love with me once more."

Feeling comforted by Derek's tenderness, I blankly followed him onto the bed.

Before going to sleep, I checked my social media and saw hundreds of comments on my earlier post.

Most joked about having a hot husband. I quickly posted an update.

"Guys, you know what? He's really gentle and considerate to me! I feel so lucky!"

Just in no time, new comments arrived. "Oh, come on. There's absolutely no such good man in the world. Girl, you must be dreaming."

"Seriously. Are you writing a romance novel? Do perfect men really exist in the world? If so, please send one my way!"

"Wake up! Stop dreaming!"

"There's always an evil side. The more perfect someone seems, the better they are at hiding their true nature. Be careful. If he's really that good to you, he must be after something!"

My gaze lingered on the last comment, and my smile instantly faded.
