Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 414

Ch. 414 / 840 May 06, 2026

Rolf's POV

Everyone was dumbfounded. Derek was acting like a whole different person.

No one could understand why he had to cut that tree.

With thunder rumbling, sparks were flying from the chainsaw in his hands.

"Alvin, look at that lightning! I'm worried it might hit Alpha Derek. Do you think Tabitha got under his skin again?"

Alvin replied with an indifferent look, "I don't know. But it definitely has something to do with her. I'm worried about him."

"Yeah. Alpha used to keep everything to himself, never losing his temper. After everything that's gone down, however, he becomes super unstable. I'm scared he might end up like his mom..."

"With Tabitha around, at least he has some kind of calming influence. But once she leaves, that string holding him together might snap, and he'll completely lose control. The consequences would be severe."

I frowned, countering, "But I think the medicine worked quite well. Tabitha seems to have forgotten her past completely. Plus, Alpha Derek plans to take her away from this sad place by the end of the month. Even the one who wants her dead may not be able to track her down. Soon enough, they'll be expecting a new baby together. As long as she doesn't regain her memory, everything will be fine."

Alvin sighed deeply, "If only it were that simple! There are so many uncertainties in this world. If anything goes wrong with Alpha Derek's plan, it'll be over between them. And there's no way he could win her back."

"Let's just hope things stay smooth sailing and no incident happens."

"Fingers crossed."

Tabitha's POV

I was deep in sleep when a loud clap of thunder jolted me awake.

It sounded like a fierce monster roaring, making me sit up straight and shake all over.

It felt like I had some tragic experience during a stormy night before.

I quickly glanced beside me, only to find the other side of the bed empty and the sheets cold. Obviously, Derek had left for some time.

Did he go to work in the study?

I couldn't go back to sleep, my heart racing for no reason, and fear washing over me like a tidal wave from my chest down to my limbs.

I walked out of the bedroom towards the study, and another thunder clapped outside the window.

Trembling all over, I unlocked the study door with my fingerprint. Yet it was pitch dark inside, with no sign of Derek at all.

"Derek, where are you?" I called out in desperation.

Another crack of thunder sounded, and I cowered on the ground, hugging my knees tight with one hand. My other hand instinctively rested on my belly, and I subconsciously cried out, "My pups."

By the time I realized what I'd said, tears were streaming down my face.

Staring blankly out at the heavy snow falling outside, I wondered, 'Did I lose my pups in a day like this?'

An image of someone jumping from a high place flashed through my mind.

But where was that?

When I tried to recall, my head throbbed as if it were being torn apart.

It hurt so much I could barely breathe. Struggling through it all, I managed to grab my phone and dial Derek's number.

"Tabitha? You awake?" It sounded like he was in some noisy place with machinery buzzing away in the background.

I gritted through the pain and asked, "Where are you now?"

"Something urgent happened at the construction site. So I left in a hurry. Are you alright?"

"I-I'm OK. Just go on with your work." I lied, as I didn't want to bother him with such a trivial matter.

I covered my head with my hands, and right then, my abdomen started to ache too.

The throbbing in both places intertwined, almost suffocating me.

I didn't get it. I hadn't gotten hurt. Why was my abdomen aching?

Before long, the door was pushed open. Surprisingly, it was Derek.

My eyes locked onto him immediately.

"Tabitha!" he exclaimed.
