Derek's POV
The Thunderflame Isles, also known as the Hell Isles, was composed of five islands.
This place was like a garbage disposal center, taking prisoners on death row and slaves from everywhere, which also made this place a breeding ground for fighting beasts.
Anyone who wanted to survive here had to keep running and keep fighting.
All the skilled werewolf hunters in the world had to go through the deadly fighting of the Hell Isles.
The rule was that the participants of the new round of trials would be randomly placed on four different islands, starting the wilderness survival mode.
Ninety percent of the werewolves were eliminated within three months, leaving only ten percent to advance from four islands to the main island, and finally determining the top three individuals.
After the top three passed the test, they would be sold at a high price.
Perhaps they would become a high-ranking guard of some royal werewolves in the future, or perhaps an assassin for a secret organization, or maybe a top-notch killer for a certain mercenary group.
Tabitha learned that the majority of werewolves who survived the Hell Isles had joined the Black Wolf Guild, the legendary mysterious organization.
I put in a lot of effort investigating this matter, but in the end, I only found a scapegoat and still didn't know the mastermind behind it.
Tabitha did not want to just wait without doing anything and stayed passive all the time.
I gave her a new identity. She put on cheap clothes, her body was coated with a layer of yellow wax, and she deliberately made some scars to make her less pretty.
Before leaving, I hung a necklace around her neck. It was a locator and distress signal device.
In addition, I also gave her two small bombs, just in case.
Tabitha did not refuse these things that could ensure her safety.
She was sent to the entrance near the Hell Isles. Tabitha saw the topography from the plane. The islands were covered with dense forests, surrounded by the sea.
It was more shocking than the map she had seen earlier.
She was going to engage in a few months of combat and wilderness survival here.
I watched her reluctantly. "Tabitha, are you really going?"
"Derek, since I felt like living in hell, why not let me go to real hell."
Tabitha didn't even turn back once. She walked towards the person who came to pick her up from afar.
The man nodded at me. Then, they slowly disappeared from my sight.
Alvin watched anxiously as Tabitha walked away. "Alpha Derek, Tabitha's right hand hasn't fully recovered yet. Are you really letting her go just like that? It's a fighting arena!"
"She was determined to go. I couldn't stop her. If I insisted, it would only make her hate me more. The only thing I can do now is to protect her in my own way."
"But Alpha Derek, even if you've arranged someone to protect her among the group of death row prisoners, once inside, things will be hard to control. What if... I mean, if she's really in danger, we won't have time to rescue her."
My back was straight, gazing into the distance.
I felt calm inside as I touched the wedding ring on my finger.
"It is normal for children to go through a rebellious phase, and the more you suppress it, the stronger it becomes. Since she wants to see towering mountains, I should take her to see them. However far it may be, she is still in control, and that is what matters most."
"In control?" Alvin didn't know what kind of control I was talking about.
The next second, I explained calmly, "She will be in danger. I let her go through a challenge, and when she is at her weakest, they'll inject her with M-1. She will forget everything and come back to me."
"Are you going to use the forbidden medicine of Poison and Wolf Shadow? But Kamp also said that this medicine would have side effects."
"What medicine in the world doesn't have side effects? Even cold medicine does. I inquired carefully, and except for pregnant women, werewolves poisoned by wolfsbane, and children being prohibited from taking it, Tabitha is not included."
My heart was torn between two choices. Was it really the right thing to do?
But to have Tabitha back by my side, I didn't have any other choices.
