Tabitha's POV
In the early morning, I woke up in the dazzling sunlight. I slowly opened my eyes. There was a moment of confusion.
I blinked and was in a daze at that moment.
I wondered if I looked a bit silly now.
No matter what, I took a look around first.
My vision gradually became clear as I glanced blearily about me.
"Did you sleep well last night?"
I looked at the man beside me with a faint smile on his face.
His handsome face made me feel as if he were the most powerful leader in the werewolf tribe, irresistible in his charm.
It took my breath away to look at him from such a close distance. His facial features had no flaws whatsoever, no matter from which angle I looked at them.
When he didn't smile, he was as cold as ice, but when he smiled, his whole demeanor became gentle.
I parted my lips slightly and said, "Well, it's not bad."
From what he said, it seemed that I always had poor sleep in the past.
But yesterday, I slept through the night.
Perhaps it was because of the faint werewolf aura emanating from him that made me feel inexplicably at ease.
"That's good. Good morning, dear." He tilted his head and lightly kissed my forehead, then he uncovered the blanket and got up to wash up.
I foolishly touched my forehead. Even though it was just a light touch, my heart was about to jump out.
The charm of a cute guy was indeed powerful.
A thought quickly popped up in my mind. I told myself not to be foolish. Beneath his handsome appearance, he might have an evil heart inside. His smile was just deceiving me.
Derek finished washing up and came out, only to find me sitting there in a daze.
He supported himself with both hands on the mattress, a fresh fragrance lingering from him, with a hint of the wildness unique to a werewolf in that scent.
"What are you thinking about? Hmm?"
His voice was really magnetic, even though he didn't deliberately change it.
His words felt like feathers tickling my heart.
"Nothing special. I'm going to wash up."
I ran faster as I heard Derek's low laughter behind me.
I posted what happened this morning online.
"But he called me dear, and he is really handsome, so handsome that every pore matches my aesthetic taste."
"You are definitely a hopeless romantic. It is obvious that you are easily fooled."
"You are love-struck. No one will show sympathy to you if anything happens."
"Wake up! Use your limited intelligence to think carefully. Men will go all out to disguise themselves and approach you. Don't they need to provide some bait before setting a trap for you? Are these few tricks enough to confuse you? Pathetic."
I thought about it seriously for a while, and I realized that I was really useless. It was just a kiss. In a society where even one-night stands had become the norm, I even went into labor before, so what was the big deal?
No matter what he wanted, his true colors would eventually show.
Last night, he said he was going to go shopping and watch a movie today, so I picked a winter dress and a coat in the cloakroom.
The well-tailored dress accentuated my waist perfectly. The only downside was that the zipper was difficult to pull.
Due to the rigidity of my right hand, the zipper got tangled in my hair. The more it tangled, the tighter it became.
I almost cursed.
"I'll do it." A gentle voice sounded. Yet, I quickly replied, "No, there's no need."
Derek's actions were not as gentle as his voice. He pressed himself toward me. Instinctively, I used my hand to support myself against the wardrobe.
The werewolf aura on him instantly enveloped me, making my heart race.
"Don't move. I'll get your hair out for you. It might hurt a little."
The distance between the two of us shortened, and when he spoke, his breath spread around my ears.
"Well, hurry up then," I urged anxiously. His fingers occasionally brushed against my skin, swiftly gliding over it, as if stirring up a heavy turmoil in my chest.
The cloakroom was not as spacious as the outside, and his hot breath made my face even hotter.
"Okay."
Upon hearing these words, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders, and I quickly breathed a sigh of relief, preparing to move away.
Derek, however, discreetly hooked his arm around my waist and approached me without making a sound. "Tabitha..."
