Tabitha's POV
I blushed and looked away, "The baked lobsters look good. I'll give them a try."
Before I could even pick one up, Derek quickly fed the shelled lobster into my mouth.
"Is it tasty?"
As I bit into it, a burst of spiciness, freshness, and fragrance exploded in my taste buds.
The familiar taste flowed from my tongue to my stomach. It had been so long since I'd tasted this. It was so spicy that I stuck out my tongue and guzzled lemonade.
"Too spicy?" Derek asked.
"A bit, but very delicious." I wasn't used to spicy food, but I enjoyed the challenge. Despite my burning ears, I couldn't resist taking another bite.
Derek shelled lobsters quickly, but not as fast as I ate.
"Slow down."
"It's a pity you're not a night market chef specializing in lobsters with skills like yours."
I drank water and turned back to praise him.
Derek smiled indulgently and said, "Do you really think anyone else in this world deserves to taste the food I make?"
It had been a long time since I ate lobsters. Even the spiciness couldn't stop me from enjoying lobsters.
I was shelling too slowly by myself, and Derek quickly shelled one.
Without needing to hand it to me, I leaned forward, opened my mouth, and devoured it straight from his hand. What a successful feeding!
Derek's expression froze.
Derek's POV
Just now, Tabitha ate too quickly and her lips accidentally touched my skin. Even though I was wearing disposable gloves, I couldn't ignore that fleeting, gentle touch.
It felt like a feather had tickled my heart before drifting away.
My heartbeat quickened.
Tabitha had no idea that her accidental gesture only stoked the flames of my desire.
At that moment, I saw her as a spicy baked lobster on a plate—so irresistible that I wanted to devour her in one bite.
But I knew deep down that Tabitha and I were still in the process of getting to know each other, and she hadn't fully let her guard down.
Taking a deep breath, I reminded myself not to act impulsively.
Impulse was a temptation I had to resist; if I gave in, all the effort I had put into carefully building my image would be undone.
Before Tabitha could notice, I stood up.
"I'm going to get you some fruit."
My wolf was restless with my longing. Tabitha always managed to stir my heartstrings unintentionally.
But I had to be patient and wait for the day when she would truly accept me.
Tabitha's POV
As I watched Derek's departing figure, a trace of emotion welled up in my heart.
He had been so attentive since I woke up, and it left me somewhat bewildered.
I casually logged into a social platform and posted something.
"Guys, I woke up with amnesia. I thought I was at a dead end, but I found that I had already been married and had a super handsome and incredibly considerate husband with perfect abs! He's the breadwinner and even makes snacks for me late at night, including shelling lobsters."
I didn't expect the post to go viral so quickly, with comments flooding in.
"I don't believe it unless you send your hubby over for verification—gotta see if those abs are legit!"
"I am in Los Angeles, and the last comment is just too exaggerated!"
"New here! Where do you get one of these husbands? Is there some government distribution? Can we return them if they don't have abs or can't make snacks?"
At that moment, Derek returned with a fruit tray.
I was busy replying to comments when I saw him. Quickly tossing my phone aside with a hint of guilt, I asked, "Why are you back so soon?"
"The fruits were pre-cut and I kept them in the refrigerator, so all I needed to do was plate them."
I widened my eyes in surprise. I hadn't expected him to be so considerate.
It seemed like he guessed my thoughts. Derek put down the fruit tray and placed his palm on the edge of my chair, slowly leaning towards me, his figure enveloping me.
Derek's powerful aura instantly surrounded me, and he said in a gentle voice, "Fool, I love you so much, so how could I not know your habits?"
My heart raced slightly, and his affection left me feeling both confused and touched.
With no memories to guide me, my feelings for him were unclear.
I didn't know how to respond to his deep love, so I could only silently soak in his warmth.
I reminded myself to stay cautious, yet his gentleness moved me.
What should I do?
