Tabitha's POV
Unfortunately, I didn't feel the same. I was trembling with fear.
"I finally made it this far, Derek. Let me go. I have something else to do," I said.
But he didn't relent. I tried to fight back, but Derek's strength was overwhelming.
I was quickly held tightly in his arms, and he said, "Nothing is more important than your safety."
"This is my path. If you truly love me, you should support my decisions."
"It is precisely because I love you that I will not let you go down such a dangerous path, Tabitha. I would seek revenge for you in my way. All you need to do is return and fulfill your role as the Luna of the Black Thorn Pack."
I stared at him in disbelief. "What are you saying? I have already said that I wouldn't accept you. It's impossible."
"Nothing is impossible in this world."
Just then, Alvin and Rolf appeared. I noticed Alvin holding a syringe.
My intuition told me that it was not something good.
"What do you mean? Do you think you can undo the things, or make what has happened disappear? Those issues stand between us. I won't agree to reconcile with you."
Derek sighed heavily, "Tabitha, I can't undo the things. But if you could lose those painful memories, wouldn't it be easier for you?"
"Lose memories? How can a person suddenly..."
"Tabitha, you underestimate people's obsession. Megan's love for Mark was so deep that even after she left him, she never forgot him for a day. She has been doing research for over a decade and created a kind of medicine that can make people lose their memories once injected. She originally intended to use it on Mark so that he could forget Holly and love only her for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, her plan was interrupted."
My back was already covered in sweat. I had witnessed Megan's madness. In order to seek revenge on Mark, she could spend many years setting up a trap.
"That medicine..."
Derek chuckled lightly, "I have it in my hands now. Don't worry. The side effects are minimal. With only ten milliliters, you will completely forget about everything from the past. Tabitha, it doesn't matter if you hate me now. Once you forget everything, you will fall in love with me again. I swear I will take good care of you for the rest of my life."
Jamar shivered. "Damn, is he crazy?"
"Boss, I think he is even scarier than you."
"He's not just scary; he's completely insane!"
I shook my head. "I don't want to forget anything."
"Tabitha, once you lose those painful memories, you will be free. Don't worry. I won't harm you. Just think of it as a nice sleep, and when you wake up, everything will be fine. I will love you even more than before. Once your body recovers, we will have children."
I struggled desperately, but it was in vain. Despair overtook me once more.
"Tabitha, you said you wanted to come here, and I didn't break my promise. The game ends here."
His voice was gentle, yet it sent chills down my spine.
As the syringe pierced my arm, Derek's kiss landed tenderly on my forehead.
"Sweetheart, just sleep and you'll be free from pain. The rest of your life will be filled with happiness and joy. I'll be by your side forever, my dear Luna."
Inside me, my wolf roared in protest, "No, I didn't want to lose my memories. Those painful memories are part of who I am—they've made me stronger."
