Tabitha's POV
Crystal roared, "No, we couldn't lose these memories! They're our treasures, a part of our lives!"
Of course, I knew that, but there was nothing I could do other than watch helplessly as those moments gradually slipped away, swallowed by darkness.
"Tabitha, be happy."
"I promised to ... protect you well. Goodbye, Tabitha."
"Sweetheart, don't worry. I'll protect you and your pups."
"You're so beatiful, sweetie. I'm sorry for abadoning you for so long. I love you."
"You are so amazing, Tabitha. You got the highest score on the test again."
"Tabitha, I like you. Can we date?"
"Hi, little girl, here for bread again? Same old deal, right?"
"If my grandson dares to bully you, I'll definitely kick his ass."
"Have you thought about studying abroad? You are the most talented student I have ever seen."
"Kiddo, what's your name? I'll come find you."
The faces of those I knew appeared before me as if bidding me farewell.
I reached out to grasp them, but they slipped through my fingers like smoke.
Derek's POV
I watched with worry as Tabitha ran around in a panic, her hands flailing wildly.
Eventually, she collapsed onto the ground in despair, tears streaming down her face.
I walked over to her.
"Come on, let's go home," I cooed in a gentle voice.
Tabitha looked blank and cold. The next second, she fell heavily to the ground.
"Tabitha!" I shouted urgently.
I scooped her up in my arms, feeling relieved. There was a little hiccup along the way, but thankfully everything was under control.
Those guys around me were stunned. Clearly, they didn't expect things to go down like this.
I couldn't care less about them, actually. But since they wanted to hurt Tabitha, they gotta pay the price.
My gaze turned coldly toward Jamar, who repeated tried to violate my mate.
He was so scared that he became stiff all over. I could sense his wolf wanting to take over.
But it was impossible under the suppression of my powerful aura.
"This is all a misunderstanding, we..." he stammered, shaking all over.
Before he could finish his words, I ordered nonchalantly, "Finish him."
Asher, who was standing behind me, replied, "Understood."
Jamar barely had time to scream before he crumpled to the ground lifelessly.
Without looking back, I carried Tabitha into the forest.
A group of people trailed behind me, their faces expressionless and cold.
Jamar would never know who we were. His head drooped, and his eyes closed forever.
When I boarded the helicopter with Tabitha in my arms, all that pent-up frustration finally started melting away.
The thought of soon getting back together with Tabitha made me smile uncontrollably.
These past few days searching for her had worn me out completely. So I held her close and drifted off into sleep.
In my dream, I saw Tabitha running towards me wearing a white dress, just like before.
She bumped into my arms like an innocent girl and smiled brightly at me, "Derek, I missed you so much..."
I tightened my grip around her like crazy and kissed her forehead again and again, replying, "Me too."
"Tabitha, from tonight onwards, there will be no more barriers between us. Let all the unpleasantness be carried away by the wind. From now on, you are the one and only Luna of the Black Thorn Pack.
"I will not let anyone harm you. You don't have to suffer anymore.
"We'll have kids—lots and lots of kids! My Tabitha, welcome home."
In my heart, Leo was brimming with anticipation, eager for our future and the new life we would begin together.
