Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 309

Ch. 309 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

From Poison and Wolf Shadow to Elena, I thought I had already found the answer.

It didn't seem like that now.

Yet, Dad was unaware of what had happened later.

"Tabitha, don't you trust your old man? Even if I wanted to find a new Luna for the pack, I would ask for your consent. I would only have a child when all the conditions got stable and mature in every aspect. How could I possibly do something irresponsible like that?"

If it weren't for my dad saying it with his own mouth, I would probably have misunderstood it for a lifetime.

"Didn't she like you very much? How did she end up getting pregnant with someone else's child?"

Dad sighed again. "This is what I often say about young people being impulsive. After she angrily left me, she went to a nightclub and got drunk. Then, she had a one-night stand with someone. Later, I found her and made my position clear. No sooner had we been together than we discovered that she was pregnant."

"What were you thinking then?" I looked at him.

"I wouldn't deny the happiness she brought me, and I would feel particularly relaxed when I was with her, but I couldn't accept that child." Dad's gaze became sharper. This was the coldness that an Alpha should have.

"You're my only daughter. By then, I didn't plan to have another child, so I never slept with her when we were together. How could I possibly accept someone else's child? Besides, I have already experienced a deep and unforgettable love when I was in my twenties. I just wouldn't indulge myself in the relationship with her. Maybe it sounds heartless to you, my dear."

I shook my head and said, "No, I understand you."

"My daughter has finally grown up," he smiled.

Then he continued the story, "I offered some money for her as a reward for the time she had spent with me. But she refused and insisted on getting rid of the child so that we could start over.

"Everyone makes mistakes, but still, I couldn't get over it. I don't blame her. I only blame myself for having too many concerns from the beginning."

To put it bluntly, Dad didn't love that rogue enough. He gave all his love to Mom. The appearance of that rogue only caused a slight ripple in his otherwise mundane life.

If it were my mom, I believed he would definitely do whatever it took to stay by her side.

His affection for that rogue only aroused his desire for love, but it couldn't make him give up everything.

"What happened after that?"

"Later on, it turned into a tragedy. After she got pregnant, she seemed like a completely different person. At first, I felt sorry for her and tried to calm her down, so I often consoled her. However, she kept throwing tantrums and even drugged me."

"Drugged you?" I was once again shocked.

My wolf murmured in my heart, "I don't get these rogues."

"Yeah, she went to great lengths to stay by my side. Luckily, I didn't act impulsively back then. She had already installed a camera in the room, just to collect evidence of me sleeping with her so that she could use it as a threat against me.

"Later, I came to know that her obedience, understanding, outgoing personality, and excellence were just her disguise for self-protection.

"She escaped from the clutches of rogue, and then I saved her. She got to grow up in Hope Ranch. She wanted more than just a stable life. She wanted to become a Luna of a pack so that she could have countless wealth in this lifetime."

I found it a bit too much to take in when I heard that. "So, what about her feelings towards you..."

Dad smiled helplessly, "From the beginning, she was only after money. Even without me, she would have found someone else. The child she carried was just part of her trick. I was just among her prey, and of course, there were other prey too."
