Derek's POV
Tabitha bit her lip, looking at me with a look of despair. "Derek, besides the twins in my belly, I've got nothing left. If you don't believe me now, just wait until they're born. No, in another three to four months, I'll be able to do an amniocentesis. By then, you'll know if you're the father."
Anger boiled up inside me. "Tabitha, you've changed for the worse. You never used to lie to me. If I wait until then, the kids will be all formed up. The abortion's gonna have a significant impact on your body. Plus, you'll be even more unwilling to get rid of them when they are that big. I've consulted an expert. Doing an abortion now would cause the least harm."
I stroked her hair, trying to soothe her, "Tabitha, how can you say that you've got nothing left? John's condition is improving day by day, and in one or two years, he'll fully recover, running the Silver Moon Pack like he used to. If it's Daphne that makes you feel insecure, I can assure you, I'm just marrying her out of duty. You're the only one that I have ever loved."
I brushed my hand across her cheek. "You're still young. You'll definitely have kids, but I have to be their father. Tabitha, my dear, I can give you whatever you want. Let's just get rid of these two bastards, okay?"
Tabitha shook her head frantically, yelling, "Derek, they aren't bastards. They are your kids! I never betrayed you, never!"
As soon as I heard the word "betrayed," I scowled, and I pushed her out of my arms.
I howled, my face twisted with anger, "Tabitha, I should've locked you up forever. I shouldn't have let you hang out with Klein. Do you really think I don't mind what you did?"
I was like a mad beast, fists clenched so tight the veins were popping out.
A low growl came out from my throat as I stared at her with bloodshot eyes, "Do you have any idea how I've lived this past month? Every moment, I've been experiencing endless torment.
"I can only watch you from afar, for as long as I get close to you, I'll be dying to hurt you. Tabitha, how I wish I could kill Klein right now!"
I pushed her to the ground, and she desperately explained, "Derek, how could you think of me in that way? I've never slept with Klein. I went to him just because I needed his help. I..."
"Enough!" I cut her off sharply. "I have no interest in hearing about the crap between you and him. Tabitha, my patience has reached its limit, and whether you agree or not, I'm getting rid of these two bastards!"
Right after I finished speaking, Rolf appeared with a group of pack guards. Tabitha quickly got up and ran away as soon as she saw them.
However, Rolf was faster, and he blocked her path.
"Tabitha, please cooperate. I don't wanna hurt you," he said, looking apologetic.
"Please go back." Everyone blocked her way, but no one dared to approach her, afraid of hurting her.
I marched right up to her, while she backed away step by step, only to be stopped by the pack guards.
Panicked, she pleaded, "Derek, aren't you afraid you'll live in regret the rest of your life if you get rid of my twins? Just wait for three more months, and then you will know if I'm telling the truth."
"Tabitha, I can't keep living this tortured life for even one more day. I'm sorry. Hate me however you want, but I won't change my mind," I said as I lifted her up, ignoring her tears.
With tears streaming down her face, she raged, "Derek, you're the most selfish person ever! You never loved me. The only person you've ever loved is yourself! For your so-called love, you keep hurting me over and over again, never caring about my feelings even for once."
My heart broke upon hearing her words.
But how could she understand what I'd been through these past few weeks?
Just the thought of her carrying someone else's bastards made me want to destroy everything.
Every day, my fury grew. I couldn't stop hurting myself and the people around me. I feared that one day, I'd lose control and hurt her too.
"Tabitha, no matter what you say, you're having an abortion today."
