Derek's POV
I heard Tabitha's words and immediately arranged for someone to quickly bring her some food.
Tabitha drank some water, and then slowly ate some food. After a while, she finally calmed down.
I saw that she was feeling better, so I said, "Are you having a stomachache? Let's go for a check-up. You're not even three months pregnant yet. Even if you hate me, don't put your health or your babies' lives at risk."
Daphne, who had come behind my back, overheard these words.
"What ... what have you done behind my back!" Her sharp voice echoed in the hallway.
Tabitha had been very tired, and when Daphne started to make a fuss, she frowned unhappily.
"We're in a hospital. Please lower your voice."
"Bitch, how dare you seduce my husband? I'll kill you."
Furious, Daphne went crazy.
She hurriedly got up and was about to fall down to the ground.
I saw that and immediately caught hold of Daphne, preventing her from falling.
Daphne took advantage of it and leaned into my arms with tears streaming down her face.
"Derek, you promised to marry me. How can you treat me like this?"
Tabitha's already gloomy mood worsened, prompting her to get up and leave.
"Don't you leave! Since you dared seduce my man, why don't you confront me face to face?"
Tabitha didn't even look at her and walked even faster.
I lowered my voice and said, "Enough, stop causing more trouble."
I released my aura.
Daphne was intimidated by the chill that ran through my body. She quickly sniffed her nose and stopped wailing.
In an instant, she became dejected and said, "Today was supposed to be our wedding, but you left with Tabitha in front of all the guests. Why are you doing this to me? How could you do that to the Amber's Eye Pack?"
"That was a matter of great urgency."
I helped Daphne into the chair and said, "It's all because of you. If you hadn't provoked John, he wouldn't have ended up like this. You only have yourself to blame. If you didn't have someone send the invitation, there wouldn't have been such a disaster."
Daphne exclaimed in frustration, "I had no idea John would be there too. If I had known he came around, how could I have..."
As she mentioned John, Daphne's voice became tense. "How is he doing now?"
"Not well," I replied directly. "He has just survived a life-threatening situation and is currently under observation in the ICU. He had a brain injury before and underwent craniotomy surgery, so he cannot undergo another one in the short term. There is a possibility that he may not come around again."
If that was the case, he might stay in a coma forever.
Daphne slumped in her wheelchair, her face extremely sullen. "How could this happen?" she said, and tears started to fall from her eyes. "Why would the Moon Goddess treat me like this?"
Daphne raised her hand and slapped herself hard on the face. I looked at her in confusion and asked, "What are you doing?"
Daphne burst into tears. "I killed my mother, and now I have killed my father too. Derek. I didn't mean to. I had no idea that Dad came around."
Mark never told me about this when he was alive, so I was completely clueless.
"What did you say? What do you mean by killing your father?"
Daphne sobbed softly, "Didn't Tabitha tell you about our origins? In fact, I'm John's daughter. I don't belong to the Amber's Eye Pack."
I pondered to myself, "What on earth is going on?"
