**(Third-person POV~ Audrey made her way home, turning onto her final right to the street headed towards her home. She worried about her smallest sister, Mia. Ever since the death of their mom, Mia hasn't been the same. Her constant nightmares and isolation from the rest of the world is far too much burden on a tiny soul.
Their mom had tragically died in a car accident while driving Mia to her afternoon summer-art class. A distracted driver crashed against their car, making Mia's mom's car swerve out of control and crashed onto another car. The distracted driver texting on their phone was left with just a few scrapes, and the third car was badly damaged, but still... The driver was left with scratches and bruises, but luckily, was still alive.
Unfortunately for Mia, she was left with a broken arm and a hairline fracture on one of her tiny ribs at just four years of age, besides the many scratches from broken glass and bruises from the impact. Despite the fractures and pain, nothing could compare to the pain she felt when she tried to wake her mom up.
She was too small to understand that her mom was not sleeping in her driver's seat, but had died instantly from the impact of the crash. Mia had to be ripped apart from her mom by the paramedics from how tight she hugged her mom, kissing her face and clutching around her neck, unwilling to let go of her. Her cries and pleads were heartbroken to all the paramedics and firemen that had tended to the horrific accident.
The constant nightmare of reliving the crash had left Mia with PTSD at such a young age. She was an intelligent little girl, but all for the better reasons, Audrey did not comfy completely in the therapy that Mia had undergone for months. She knew Mia would bottle in all of her emotions to the therapist. Regardless of their tactics and efforts, Mia was not willing to open up and talk about what she was feeling, and she refused to take any medication by all means. The only one that was able to ever make her talk was their dad, Robbie.)**

Audrey
I sighed as I looked back in the rearview mirror. Mia looked out the window with her cute sad eyes. It breaks my heart to see her like this.
If Mom was still alive.., boy, things would be so different. I miss her so much. I think this move is going to do her good. We decided to sell our old house and move all across the country to help Mia get better. I miss seeing her smile, being silly. She was truly the highlight of our day without a doubt. Mom and Mia were the perfect duos when it came to making us laugh. I miss those days so much.
The mixture of blue and red lights flickering brought me out of my trance. I looked back on my side-view mirror and see a sheriff patrol behind us. I grunted inwardly, cursing my day.
"You have got to be kidding me." I protested, pulling the car over and turning off my engine. "Don't worry guys, everything will be just fine," I said as Nikki and Mia looked at me worried.
"Good afternoon ma'am." the officer said making me curse inside. I knew exactly who he was... It was the same guy I have been avoiding since I moved six months ago, Steven Jameson.
Don't get me wrong... He's really cute, cute? I mean hot. But he's the biggest manwhore I have ever met. I want a man that will only be with me, and not have to worry about having random girls come up to me, telling me that they are with him as well.
I have enough drama in my life. I don't need to add more frustration to our table.
"Officer... Good afternoon."
"Well hello there," he says as he places one hand on the top of the car and the other on his hip.
" Going a little off on your lane there Audrey. I doubt you got too drunk off of all that coffee you drink at the diner. Getting a little distracted are we? You didn't happen to be thinking of me now, were you? Because I may just have that effect on girls now and then." I rolled my eyes at his words.
He was too cocky for himself. I mean don't get me wrong, it's a good thing for a man to have confidence, but he was just too much for his own kind.
"You wish, Steven. I'm sorry, I guess... I just got a little distracted there for a second. Won't happen again. Now... If there's nothing else, can I go?" I asked looking at him sternly. His lips pulled up to a smile, looking into the car and seeing my sisters inside.
"I see you got your little sisters with you. Just drive safe, ok?"
"Thanks, I will." I was ready to turn my car back on and leave when he placed his hand on my car door since I had my window down.
"Wow now... In a hurry are we? I still need to see your license and registration." I cursed inwardly. Was he bullshitting me right now?
"What? Why?"
He chuckles, looking to the ground and then towards me. "Audrey, you still swerved while driving. I need to make sure you're legally licensed to drive. Unless you want to ride with me to the station and settle it there?"
"You....grrr... You are just trying to piss me off, aren't you? I did nothing wrong, and you know it? Why do you like giving me such a hard time? What did I ever do to you?" I was getting frustrated. I wasn't trying to be rude to him, but I had such a long hard day, and Mia's situation was helping.
"Wow, relax. You know I inky like to kid around with you. Now come on... All bull aside, when will you finally go on a date with me?" was he kidding? How can he ask me for something like this right now?
"Uhhh, how about never," I said acting pensive, and turned towards him, making him chuckle.
"Oh, come on, do you honestly think I am that bad of a catch? You'll have to say yes sooner or later." who was I kidding? I did like him, a lot. But no one wants to mess with his baby mama, and I'm not sure if there is anything between them or not.
"What about Roxanne? Don't you think she'll be upset if you went on a date with me?"
"Rox?" he says as if he was baffled by my question. "Audrey, nothing is going on between Roxanne and me. I swear. It's true, I'm fighting to take custody of my daughter, but besides that, believe me, there's only mutual hate between her and me. So how about it? Give me a chance. If by the end of our date, you still find me repulsive, I will never ask for a second date again." now that sounded like a brilliant idea.
I'm sure I can pull off being the worst date to him, and by the end of the night, he will be the one to wish he never set eyes on me.
I glanced at my sister Nikki, who smiled at both of us, then towards Mia who was giggling in the back. "What do you think, Mia? Should I give this guy a chance?" I ask her, making her smile wider. Her eyes glistened, making me feel warm inside.
I rarely get to see her smile anymore, and seeing her smile made me feel good. I sigh and close my eyes, turning back to Steven. "Fine, but one date only, got it?"
"Yes." He blurts out happily, fisting his hand over his chest. "It's a date then. Pick you up Friday night? I promise... You won't regret it." I smiled at his enthusiasm. He really was cute when he smiled, but I doubt this will get any further than one date.
"Fine. Can I go now?" I asked, holding my smile. He shook his head and took a step back. "I'll see you Friday then. Bye girls. By Mia." he says waving off to my sisters. I quickly turned my car on, placed the gear on drive, and took off.
I just hope I don't regret giving him a chance for a date, but at least I know he'll keep his promise. If we don't hit it off, which I know we won't... He'll stop asking me out.
