Emily sent him something like an observation log, which recorded the dates of her meeting with Aaron and Aaron's condition.
On the second record, there would be a comparison, as well as the changes in Aaron's condition with the last one. Emily highlighted what she thought was important in different colors.
It was a detailed record. Derek noticed that even Aaron's doctors didn't do so. However, Emily was far more attentive and concerned about Aaron.
Derek walked to the balcony and lit a cigarette. Although he stopped smoking after living with Aaron and Ian, what happened today stirred his mood, and he needed a cigarette to calm himself down.
The cold wind blew away the smoke he puffed out. Derek looked in the distance, and Emily's records replayed in his mind. She kept surprising him.
After smoking, Derek stood in the cold wind for a long time. Until the smoke on his body had dissipated, he entered the room.
He sat in his chair and pondered for a while. Then, he sent part of Emily's records to Aaron's psychological counselor.
He didn't wait for long, and Cyril, the psychological counselor, quickly called him.
"Did Aaron participate in the commercial shooting today?" Cyril's voice was full of affinity.
"Yes, and he made his own decision. He did not show any discomfort during the shooting." Derek knew what this meant, so even though it was late, he still contacted Cyril.
"I saw the screenshot you sent me. Emily recorded it in detail. According to what she recorded today, an important change has occurred to Aaron." Cyril sounded happy.
"Since that's the case, how long will Aaron..." Derek's voice trembled a little but was still calm.
Although Cyril did not sense Derek's trembling voice, he could tell the meaning behind Derek's words. He sighed in his heart, 'Even someone as powerful as Derek would not dare to say it out of concern.'
"It's hard to tell the exact time. Aaron's condition is much better than what we predicted. Don't worry, Derek," Cyril comforted Derek.
"You are right. Emily is special to Aaron. Recently, Aaron's rapid improvement has been related to her." Derek suppressed his emotions.
"That's right. It's amazing. Derek, I think Emily is Aaron's cure," Cyril said frankly. Emily was special to Aaron, so Aaron was willing to step out of his world and began to interact with the people around him.
"Actually, I have always felt that Aaron is different from other children who are suffering from autism," Cyril said tentatively. "He is smart enough to sense the outside world as other kids, but he is unwilling to respond to it. It is as if he thinks that he doesn't need to respond to anything in the world. Such a tendency is not obvious when he is with you and Ian, though he is still immersed in his thoughts. Emily makes him feel interested in the outside world."
"That's right, Aaron will take the initiative to contact the outside world, only to avoid Emily from being in a dilemma. I have never thought of this before." Derek recalled the reason Aaron agreed to the commercial shooting.
"So I think that the key to Aaron's recovery might be Emily," Cyril said.
After hanging up the phone, Derek wanted to light another cigarette. He reached out his hand, but in the end, he didn't take out a second one. Instead, he stuffed a piece of mint candy into his mouth. The cool feeling went straight into his stomach, making him feel a lot more refreshed.
He picked up his phone and wanted to thank Emily. However, he typed a message and deleted it several times, feeling that it was not good enough.
After a while, he deleted all the content and threw the phone on the table.
'It is so late. She should be asleep already,' Derek thought.
At that moment, Emily was talking with Chris.
"Chris, can you do me a favor?" Emily held onto Chris' hand.
"Mommy, you always have a bad idea when you smile like this. Stop smiling," Chris mumbled.
"Chris, do you still remember the monkey virus?" Emily asked.
"Did someone decode it?" Chris became nervous. He was most proud of the monkey virus and didn't believe that it would be solved so easily.
"No, the little monkey is still fine," Emily explained hurriedly. "I'm talking about Laura and Rose, the person in charge of the company that the monkey virus invaded."
"I won't forget the people who bully you," Chris said unhappily. He was a genius with a high IQ, and how could he forget such a thing?
"Mommy, why did you suddenly mention them? Did they bully you again?" Chris said sharply. He stood up angrily. "I'm going to reactivate the little monkey."
"Chris, don't worry. Let me finish my words." Emily stopped Chris from rushing out. He always acted maturely, and she didn't expect him to be so impulsive because of her.
Emily felt warm in her heart. With Chris and Diane, her life was not just about revenge, and she wasn't overwhelmed by hatred anymore.
Although she hated the unknown man for ruining her reputation, she was also grateful to him because he had brought Chris and Diane to her.
"Chris, they can't bully me. I will fight back." Emily calmed Chris down and continued, "I want you to help me check their accounts. I know them well, it's impossible for them to do nothing."
Chris listened carefully and nodded. "No problem. It is easy, Mommy."
"But it's too late today. You need to sleep early. Just check it tomorrow," Emily looked at the clock and said to Chris. Although the information was useful, in Emily's heart, it was not as important as Chris' sleep.
"Mommy, Chris, what are you whispering about?" Diane opened the door and walked in.
"We're talking about how beautiful you are in those photos," Emily quickly said.
Chris clicked the album tactfully. Diane poked her head in and was happy to see her photos.
"I'm really beautiful!" Diane held her face and said happily.
"Alright, stop being narcissistic. Let's go to sleep." Emily rubbed Diane's face.
"Alright, I can only admire my beauty tomorrow." Diane sighed.
Chris shrugged helplessly at Emily.
