Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 49

Ch. 49 / 160 May 08, 2026

"They said that thanks to you, the filming went smoothly," Derek suddenly said to Emily.

Emily was somewhat surprised. "I can't complete the shoot alone. Jimmy, Andy, and the others have also done well."

"In fact, with your ability, you can start your own business," Derek continued.

Emily frowned. She didn't know what Derek meant.

"I have something more important to do," Emily replied.

  "I understand," Derek said, stunned.

He didn't know what had happened to him. He suddenly wanted to know more about Emily. It wasn't from the cold investigation results but from her warm reply.

"From that deal, I thought you already know what's on my mind," Emily said to Derek.

"Yes. I just want to see how determined you are." Derek thought of their deal. He knew that Emily was a resilient woman, and once she made up her mind, she would make every effort to achieve it.

These thoughts appeared in his mind at some point. Perhaps it was when Emily accepted the deal, or at the time she refused him, or maybe at the time she came into his life.

Derek felt as if Emily had barged into his heart. Every time he came into contact with her, her image became clearer. Today, he figured out something.

  "Derek?" Emily asked.

"What's wrong?" Emily's voice pulled Derek out of his deep thought.

Emily was confused. She felt that Derek was a little strange today, but she couldn't tell what it was. So, she gave up her thoughts for the time being.

"Nothing. Aaron and Ian have changed their clothes. You can take them home now," Emily said.

Aaron was depressed when he heard Emily's words. Ian held Aaron's hand and comforted him.

Derek was also a little upset. He didn't get to chat much with Emily. However, he also did not have any excuses to stay, so he said, "Boys, let's go back."

Ian was having a good time today. He held Aaron's hand, and Derek held Ian's hand. Ian's eyes narrowed in happiness.

"Goodbye, Emily. Chris, Diane, I will miss you."

"Goodbye, Ian. Come visit us when you are free." Ian loved to play as much as she did, so Diane was reluctant to part with Ian.

Chris shook his head when he saw the reluctant Diane and Ian. He said to himself, 'Children are hard to satisfy.'

He raised his head and happened to meet Aaron's eyes. It seemed that the two of them felt the same way.

"Aaron, if you miss me, you can call me." Emily blinked at Aaron.

Aaron was silent for a few seconds. He let go of Ian's hand and rushed to Emily. He hugged Emily's neck and nodded.

Aaron rubbed his face against Emily. Emily's heart softened and gently stroked his head.

Derek didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Aaron and Ian were just saying goodbye to Emily, yet they acted as if they would never meet her again.

He didn't urge them. He waited patiently for them to say goodbye. Emily even gave him a few more glances, and it was probably because she didn't expect him to be so patient.

Derek looked out the window after he got into the car with Aaron and Ian. He recalled the scene of Emily bathed in the sunshine when he first entered the break room at noon. The corners of his mouth curled up, and he was unaware of his expression.

"Daddy? Why are you ignoring me?" Ian was not very happy. He told Derek how happy he was over the shooting. No matter how hard he tried, Derek didn't respond to him.

Derek quickly cleared his thoughts. He was in charge of a large company, so it was easy for him to deal with a child's questions.

"Ian, did you have a good time today?" Derek asked.

"Yes. We ate a lot of delicious food today. The four of us even took pictures together. It's fun. After I go back, I'll call Emma and tell her." Ian clapped his hands happily. "Daddy, hurry up and go home," he urged.

At the thought of Emma, Derek had a headache. Emma was his mother, and she loved Aaron and Ian very much and even spoiled them. Ian complained about Derek in front of Emm, so she blamed Derek several times.

Derek pinched Ian's little face. "Emma is on vacation. Don't call her at this time."

"No way. Emma said she liked talking to me." Ian wrinkled his nose in dissatisfaction, thinking, 'Daddy is bad. I'll tell Emma about it.'

Derek did not know that Ian was going to complain. He recalled the time when Aaron was in front of the cameras.

They chatted and laughed in the car and soon returned to the Scott's. Charlie was waiting at the door.

He watched Aaron and Ian grow up and treated them like his own children. They went out for half a day. Although they were with Derek, Charlie was still worried.

"Charlie." Ian was a warm little guy. As soon as he got out of the car, he gave Charlie a hug. Charlie grinned happily.

"Ian, Aaron, did Derek take good care of you?" Charlie asked with concern.

Derek was expressionless. He was used to his family treating Aaron and Ian as treasures.

Charlie took Ian and Aaron into the villa following Derek. Along the way, Ian kept talking. The quiet villa became lively after Ian and Aaron returned. Derek was walking in front of them and smiled.

Although he disliked his family doting on Aaron and Ian, he was the one who loved them the most.

During dinner, Charlie prepared a lot of delicious food for them. Thick soup, roasted mutton, fried chicken, roasted beef, and salad filled the table. Charlie also prepared milk and lemon pies as desserts. Perhaps the kids were tired after taking those photos, even Aaron ate a little more than usual.

Ian ate until he was full. He was lying on the sofa, moaning.

"If you eat so much next time, I'll make sure that this food won't appear on the dining table for a month." Derek looked helpless.

Ian was startled and did not dare to moan. His eyes widened and he looked at Derek pitifully, hoping that Derek would let him go.

Derek pretended not to see Ian's pleading eyes and went upstairs. Then, he called Charlie to take care of Ian downstairs.

After hearing the whole story, Charlie could not help laughing. He quickly went downstairs before Derek glared at him.

Derek returned to the study and found that he had just received a message from Emily.

"I want to show you something. Is it OK for you to send me your email address?"

Derek hesitated for a moment after he read Emily's message. Then, he sent her his email address.

In a few minutes, he received an email from Emily.

When he clicked the email, he stood up instantly, and his chair rubbed against the ground with a harsh sound.
