Emily was dealing with her emails at work when her phone rang. She picked it up without checking the incoming number.
"Emily, you bitch!" A woman's scream came through the phone.
Emily rolled her eyes and hung up.
A few seconds later, her phone rang again. She pressed it directly. After three times, Emily picked up the phone.
"Emily, you..." Rose's voice wasn't as loud as just now.
"If you continue such kind of meaningless abuse, I'll turn off my phone. Think about it carefully." Emily was impatient to hear Rose's scream and interrupted her.
Rose paused for a moment, and Emily could hear Rose panting on the phone.
More than ten seconds later, Rose asked, "What do you mean?"
"Think about how you should talk to me," Emily said.
Rose fell silent again. Then, she tried to stay calm and said, "How did you find it out?"
"Not bad. You've made some progress," Emily praised.
Rose was furious, but she had to hold back her anger.
"How did you get such classified information?" Rose continued to ask.
"Sorry, I don't want to tell you." Emily hung up the phone without waiting for Rose to react. Then, she blocked Rose's number.
Rose stared at the dark screen angrily and wanted to throw her phone away. When she called again and realized that Emily had blocked her number, she could no longer suppress her anger and smashed her phone against the wall.
Emily was humming and in a good mood. She could imagine how angry Rose was and felt happy about it.
"I haven't gotten even with you yet, but you always provoke me. I hope you can learn a lesson," Emily muttered.
Derek followed Eric to the restaurant for dinner. He only ordered a salad and a steak as he had no appetite today.
After Eric got up and walked away, Derek's view was no longer blocked, and he saw Emily sitting at another table. He had just sat up straight and was about to greet her when a tall man walked to her.
Derek quickly lowered his head to avoid Emily's gaze. He regretted it and was a little angry at himself. He had come to the restaurant to eat, and there was no need for him to hide. He was the head of the Scott family and was afraid of no one!
The tall man hugged Emily, and Emily seemed happy. Then, the man sat down. Derek saw it and wondered, 'Did Emily invite the man for a meal?'
He unconsciously clenched the tablecloth.
Emily smiled brightly. However, in the face of Derek, she was always cold and rarely smiled. Her gentleness was only meant for the kids.
Emily looked beautiful when she smiled, but he felt annoyed when she smiled at another man.
He couldn't help but stand up and walk over. Then, he saw the tall man raise his hand to wipe away the coffee stains on Emily's lips. Emily didn't wince.
Derek's eyes looked dangerous.
Emily was chatting with her good friend, Jayden. She met him when she took Diane to shoot a commercial.
Jayden was a fashion designer. Emily helped him the first time they met, and they became good friends.
Today, Jayden quarreled with his boyfriend, so he invited Emily for a meal.
Now, he was chatting with Emily, and Emily was amused by him. He reached out to wipe the corner of her mouth.
Suddenly, Jayden felt a fierce gaze and it was hard to ignore it. He looked up and met Derek's burning gaze.
Emily noticed Jayden's puzzled expression and reached into the hot coffee accidentally.
"Hot!" Emily waved her hand.
Jayden pulled her hand and found that it was only slightly red. He took out his handkerchief to wipe it and gave her a charming glare. "Why are you so careless? Is the coffee that good?"
Emily felt that Derek's face seemed to darken even more.
She hurriedly greeted him. "Derek, are you here for dinner?"
'This damned woman! She flirted with another man in front of me.' This was the only sentence in Derek's mind.
Jayden sized up Derek and then threw Emily a flirtatious grin.
'Emily, not bad. He is handsome with a hot figure.'
Derek wanted to strangle Jayden when he saw Jayden's reaction.
"You need to edit Diane's photos. If you are free, why don't you bring Diane to take some more?" Derek's tone was cold.
Emily frowned and thought, 'Really? I didn't receive Andy's notice that there was something wrong with the photos.'
Listening to Derek's words, Jayden said with dissatisfaction, "Who are you? Diane is such a beautiful little girl, but you said that her photos have to be modified. The photographer is not good enough. Emily's job has been completed, and she has the right to reject your request."
"That's enough." Emily quickly stopped Jayden.
Jayden felt wronged and pursed his lips. "Emily, are you blaming me for this man?"
Emily could swear that she had seen the veins on Derek's forehead bulge. She was afraid that Jayden would be beaten by him.
Jayden's tone, as well as the fact that he was familiar with Emily, irritated Derek a lot.
"Who is he?" Derek said through gritted teeth.
"This is my friend, Jayden," Emily introduced Jayden to him briefly.
Jayden looked at Derek and then at Emily. He suddenly smiled as if he realized something.
Emily was beautiful, good-tempered, and capable. Therefore, it was easy for others to be attracted to her. Jayden smiled evilly and had a plan in mind.
He suddenly held Emily's hand and said, "Honey, I love you so much. You can't fall for another man."
After that, he looked at Derek proudly as if he was showing off his intimacy with Emily.
"By the way, I also like your children. And I want to be their father." Jayden kept on agitating Derek.
Derek was so angry that his eyes turned red. He should have stayed in his seat, or he would not have seen Jayden's expression or heard those words at a close distance.
"Bring Diane over tomorrow morning. If you don't come, the contract will be invalid." Derek turned around and hurried away after he finished his words. He was worried that he would hear something annoying again.
Emily understood that the contract he mentioned was not Diane's, but the deal between them.
