"What a good-for-nothing." Jenny was embarrassed that Jessica was frightened by Emily so easily.
Jessica didn't dare to say or do anything else. She could only walk behind Jenny.
"Why don't we talk about how you seduce someone's fiancé? How's that?" Jenny raised her voice and glared at Emily.
"As far as I know, the Field family has yet to agree to the marriage. Nick is not your fiancé yet. Besides, Nick is so outstanding. Isn't it normal for someone to fall for him?" Emily said contemptuously.
Emily was fed up with Jenny's unreasonable challenge and she said so to agitate her.
"You bitch! So I was right. You do want to snatch Nick!" Jenny took a step forward angrily. She pointed at Emily with a trembling hand.
"Calm down, Jenny. Calm down." Jessica pulled Jenny anxiously.
She grabbed Jenny and did not dare to let go. She thought, 'If Jenny gets into a fight and gets hurt, she'll be scolded by her family, and that will be all. And me? I'll be in trouble. I've experienced it too many times. My family is not that powerful and it is tied to the Evans family. Whenever something good comes up, it will always be Jenny who gets the credit. On the contrary, if something bad happens, it'll be my fault. How dare I let something happen to Jenny while I'm here?'
"Stop pulling me." Jenny shook off Jessica's hand. Yet being stopped by Jessica happened to give her time to come up with words to refute Emily.
"You are wrong. I am talking about Derek, the fiancé of Rose, your bestie. You are interested in the power of the Scott family, and you are jealous of Rose. So, you seduced Derek. I heard you've been spending a lot of time with him. Right?" Jenny blinked. She gave herself a thumbs-up in her heart, feeling that what she said was irrefutable and she did a great job.
"I don't give a damn whether it is Nick or Derek you're talking about. Just remember that Nick's matter is out of your hand, Derek has nothing to do with you, and you don't get to ask about my business." Emily's tone was cold. She didn't want to waste her time on Jenny, whose mind was filled with romance.
"Shut up. You've seduced Derek and then Nick. Do you think that can help you get your hands on the inheritance?" Jenny hated to hear Emily saying that Nick had nothing to do with her, and she roared.
Emily walked up to Jenny and said, "The fact that I can successfully seduce them suggests that I am attractive. I'm afraid Nick wouldn't even look at you if you stood naked in front of him. Also, here's a piece of advice for you. If you have feelings for Nick, make a move and make him yours. Otherwise, you can do nothing but cry when he's mine."
Then Emily patted Jenny on the shoulder like a friend, pushed away the stunned Jenny, and walked out.
When Emily walked to the corridor, Jenny's angry roar came from the bathroom behind her.
"Jenny, don't be angry. Emily is nothing. She is a jilted woman. And you? You are the apple of the eye of the Evans family," Jessica looked at Jenny and said tentatively.
After Jenny vented her anger, her chest heaved violently. After gasping a few times, she turned around and asked Jessica, "Did you record everything?"
"Yes." Jenny took off the brooch on her chest and took out a pinhole camera from it.
"Is the video clear? I went through a lot of trouble. I don't want to end up having nothing." Jenny frowned. She did not have much faith in the pinhole camera.
"We didn't have much time, and this was the best I could get. If the video isn't clear, we can use the audio," Jessica said fawningly.
"You're smart this time," Jenny praised.
After Emily got rid of Jenny, she saw Louise when she returned to the hall.
"Emily, what took you so long?" Louise came here to look for Emily.
"Some people blocked my way," Emily said calmly.
"What? I'll kick their asses!" Louise was anxious. She would beat up anyone who bullied Emily.
"No need. Come back here. I've handled it already." Emily held Louise back. "You've had quite a bit. Let's go back."
"I don't care. I'm not going home. Do you want me or not?" Louise held onto Emily's hand, not letting go. She had a look on her face as if saying, "If you dare to say you don't want me, I'll burst into tears right now."
"I don't want anyone else but you," Emily coaxed Louise. "Let's go. Come home with me."
Louise was then satisfied and left with Emily.
At the same time, Nick and Terry were fishing by the lake. The golden sunlight cast on the lake.
"Nick. I'm hungry. Let's go back," Terry said with a sad face. They had been fishing since noon, and almost got nothing.
"Heck no! I got a mermaid last time. I'm gonna get another one today." Nick stared at the lake.
Terry rolled his eyes. He thought, 'Nick can be a nutjob sometimes, and as his good friend, I have to be there for him. Damn! I'm such a great friend.'
"Why isn't Derek here? Why me?" Terry complained. He felt bored after sitting here for the whole afternoon.
"He's so busy. His time is too precious to be wasted on me. Besides, I got Emily last time, and he snatched her from me," Nick said righteously.
"And my time isn't precious?" Terry pointed at himself. He swore that if Nick dared to say no, he would strangle Nick, the bastard.
"We're getting a bite!" Nick quickly changed the topic.
"Where?" Terry quickly helped Nick pull the fishing rod.
"Oh, it's my phone. My bad," Nick said awkwardly. He took out his phone and found that he had received an anonymous video. He clicked on it curiously.
Nick stared at his phone and made a strange yelp. Hearing Nick's voice, Terry hurriedly leaned over.
"What's wrong?" Terry asked with concern.
Nick ignored Terry and played the video again.
Terry saw the video this time as well. The video was only about ten seconds.
Someone in the video said, "Whether it is Nick or Derek... The fact that I can successfully seduce them suggests that I am attractive..."
"When he's mine..."
Terry frowned. The video was taken secretly. What was it for?
"Did you hear that, Terry?" Nick said complacently.
"Hear what?" Terry asked.
"Emily decided to seduce me first, which means that I'm more attractive than Derek," Nick explained.
Terry held his head, feeling helpless. He thought, 'Damn! Nick becomes competitive again. Why does he always like to compete with Derek over who is more attractive?'
"I'll forward it to Derek," Nick said. He had already sent the video to Derek while saying that, and Terry had no time to stop him.
Terry thought, 'Damn. Is it too late to cut Nick off?' Terry was dumbfounded. He could tell that Derek treated Emily very differently. Nick was digging his own grave.
At the same time, Derek was signing documents after a meeting. Suddenly, his phone rang. When he saw the smiley face on the screen, he didn't want to click on it. Nick always sent him weird stuff, and he had gotten used to it.
Nick waited for a few minutes, but Derek didn't reply. Then, he sent Derek more messages in a row.
Derek's phone kept ringing, and his assistant, Eric, could not help but glance at Derek's phone.
Derek knew that if he still didn't check the messages, Nick would keep bothering him. He put down his pen and clicked on the first message.
When Emily's voice sounded, he quickly pressed the pause button.
"You may go out for now," he clutched his phone and said to Eric.
