Daniella's eyes sparkled with excitement as she waited for Leonard. The visitor's room door creaked open, and Leonard came out with a sly grin spreading across his face.
"Well, well, well," he said, sauntering over to Daniella. "Who was that? What did I miss?"
Daniella handed him the invitation. "This was delivered for Anabel. It's an invitation to the Zacklid Group ceremony. It's not just a ceremony; Desmond will be given a billion-dollar contract."
Leonard's eyes widened as he scanned the invitation. "This is it, Daniella. This is our ticket to riches."
Daniella's laughter echoed through the room. "I know, right? And the best part is, Desmond has no idea what's coming."
"What do you mean?" Leonard asked, confused. How can Desmond be unaware that he bagged a billion-dollar contract?
"The contract was not gotten by him. I think Anabel bagged the contract for him. The man who brought it said I should give it to Anabel."
"What?" Leonard asked in shock. "Does it mean she is a high-profile person? How did she manage to bag this huge amount of contract? Maybe we are underrating her."
"She is nothing. She definitely bagged this contract by selling her body. This is not the first."
"And you want me to believe that? Hope you know what a billion dollars is. Even if a hundred virgins give their virginity to one man, they won't be able to secure this kind of contract. Anabel must be something else, something we are not aware of."
"She is nothing, and she will always be nothing."
"So how are you going to go with this? What will you tell Desmond? That you secured the contract for him?" Leonard asked.
"Exactly, that is what I have in mind."
"Don't you think it will put you in trouble? This is not a low-rank company. This company is the leading electric car company in the country. You won't be able to manipulate anything." Leonard finished.
"Nothing will happen." Daniella replied. "Anabel had done almost everything. Desmond only needed to sign when we got there."
Leonard's grin grew. "We're going to make a fortune off this guy. With this invitation, we'll have the perfect opportunity to get more money from him."
Daniella's eyes sparkled with excitement. "I'll tell Desmond that I secured the contract for him. He'll be so grateful and do anything I say. Will this, he is going to trust me in whatever I suggest. He will believe me more than how he believed I was pregnant with his child."
"Wait.... you told him that you are pregnant with his child? That's my child, our child. How will you tell him that it's his child?"
"I know. I used it to make things easy for me. The child is yours; it's ours. Nobody is going to take it. Once the wedding is done, I will sign for divorce, get my own share of his properties, and tell him that he's not responsible for my pregnancy."
Leonard chuckled. "You are such a great manipulator. We are going to be very rich soon. This mansion may turn out to be ours. He will have nothing left before he realizes what is happening."
"I think this calls for a celebration." Daniella suggested it, and they took some wine from the fridge. They sat on the plush couch in the living room, clinking their glasses together in a toast.
"To our future wealth and success," Daniella said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Leonard grinned with his eyes locked on hers. "To us and our brilliant plan."
They sipped their wine, savoring the taste and the moment. Soon, their conversation turned flirtatious.
