Kane tells everyone else, “Please try to be patient and let her get the story out. Hold your questions until she is done. This is going to be draining on her and some of the things you will hear will make you think she should be stronger. However, this time around it has been the hardest for Katia and she was the youngest she had ever been when it began.”
The group looked on in confusion and Kane nodded for his cousin to begin. Katia started where she left off yesterday. How she and Aza and I woke in the darkness and we were happy because, once again, it was quiet and peaceful. They felt no pain and they each had their own body. How Aza could nuzzle and give her girly kisses. How Katia could pet her wolfie and feel her soft silky fur. But then they heard the singing and decided to follow it. When they found the woman singing, she was standing in the middle of all the seasons. At this part, Aza and Katia were excited to describe the fourseasons existing right next to each other. How beautiful they were and how vibrant the colors were. Then Katia smiled brightly, and she told how beautiful the woman was. How white her hair was. How smooth and flawless her skin was. They were the same size except Katia, but a bit thinner. Kane spoke up then, “Cousin, I don’t think they are getting it. You are going to have to spell it out for them.” He was snickering and watching Nathan as he finished. Katia then told how the woman at the center of all the seasons was the spitting imagine of her with white hair and a body that was not as scarred as hers.
Dalia suddenly squealed, “She is your twin sister!” and bounced up and down next to Kane. Katia smiled and nodded yes.
Mark spoke next, “Where were you? Where is your sister? Who is she?” Kane continued watching Nathan, waiting for everything to click for him. While Katia went back to explaining her life and who she was. She explained that she and Aza were in the god realm. Her sister brought her there when she ended her life in the Earth realm. Her sister then explained who their parents were and that they did have other siblings. Everyone’s attention was centered on Katia now. They all knew she was about to reveal something big, but little Katia, being who she is, did not come right out and say it. She decides to relay the story of everyone thinking that her parents only had one youngest child when identical twins were born. When Zeus, the God of Gods, and his wife Hera found out, they bestowed the twin girls with special gifts. They each received a special gift of their own and then two gifts for the two of them. The first gift, their own species to love and guide. The werewolf species was created. One daughter received the gift of matching mates in the werewolf species. The other daughter was given the gift of matching the wolves of the species to the human of the species. The better the match, the better they were able to coexist in the same body. The third gift was a gift that no other god/goddess has ever been given. The gift of living in the Earth realm as a normal wolf. That meant that the girls could experience what their species did. The girls love their wolves so much and want to be among them and have the same experience as them. Especially the mate bond.
Just then Kelp screamed, “WAIT! That means that you, no way!” and then he stopped noticing Kane shaking his head and motioning toward Nathan. Nathan was so enraptured by the story she was telling that he had not figured it out yet.
Katia continued as she glanced at her mate and saw how focused he was on what she was saying. She smiled watching him sit with eyes closed and listening to her voice in his head. She went back to the last gift and how another god heard what Zues and Hera had done. This god did not think it was fair that Zeus not only showed favoritism by releasing the parents of the girls from their prison but then to bestow such a gift as living a life in the Earth realm whenever they wanted. He was jealous, angry, and wanted revenge. He knew he could not win against the parents, so he was taking his revenge against the girls.
“Okay, okay, I get jealous, but he lost the war with your parents. Why does he want revenge so desperately?” Mark asked.
Katia looked at Kane and he nodded. So, she continued, “Because my uncle, who was my father’s brother and son to the god wanting revenge, castrated him”
Everyone gasped and then they were completely quiet. Not one sound was made as everyone looked from Katia and then to Kane. You can see them putting things together. Suddenly, Nathan opens his eyes and looks at Katia, “You’re a freaking goddess?”
She smiles and ducks her head. Dalia is going crazy because she has a goddess for a sister-in-law and a god for a mate. Nathan hadn’t thought of that. He then looks at Kane, “You’re a freaking god? The moon goddess hid a god in our pack to protect. Wait!” he looks back at Katia, “The moon goddess is your twin sister?”
Mark chimes in, “That means your parents are the titans Hyperion and Theia. Your uncle and Kane’s father is Crius.”
Nathan then says, “Uranus is the god taking revenge on you and your sister. Gaia is imprisoned in his dungeon, so she does not find out. They are your and Kane’s grandparents. Kane was hidden here because of what his father did to Uranus. Crius was afraid his father would do the same to Kane.”
Kane and Katia nodded yes. Then Katia explained how each time she or her sister try to live a normal life amongst the werewolves, they are tortured and killed by her grandfather’s hired hands. How it was her turn again and someone in the god realm betrayed them. Katia was found as a baby and almost killed with her earth parents. How she was found by the wrong pack and treated like a slave, then sold to Alpha Thomas as his next mate. The torture and punishment he doled out to her. The beating pushed her wolf to force a shift at too young of an age. How he almost killed her in that attack on him. How she has never been able to heal completely before another beating or torture session. The Doc and nurse Coral helped with her healing as much as they could.
She finally ends with a rejection from her fated mate, Alpha Lorn. That was when her wolf agreed enough was enough. They decided to end this life and jumped over the waterfall. However, her sister Selene believes that, because she ended up on the Snow Moon pack’s land, which was the original pack meant to find her as a baby. They still had a chance at ending the grandfather’s vengeance.
Once she finished, Dalia started laughing uncontrollably and when asked what she was laughing about she looked at her brother Nathan, “My brother, who likes being nice and easy. Is uncomfortable around any of the gods. He has just found out he is mated to a goddess with a twin sister. His mate's parents are titans, his best friend is a god, and he might as well say he is related to a lot more gods then what he knows, and they are going to be popping in whenever they want.”
Nathan sighed and noticed the tired, scared look on his mate’s face. Although she was a god, she did not act like the gods he had read about. Come to think of it, neither was her sister the moon goddess. They seemed to have limits and weaknesses also.
Nathan told everyone that he thought they should break and get some rest. He asked Kane to let Chipper know that they would need dinner sent up tonight. Katia needs to rest and meeting the pack can wait until she is stronger.
Kane smiled at Nathan, “Will do. Nathan, I know this is a surprise. She is not what you think. She and Selene have been through a lot. What she did not tell you is that each time they try to live a life in this realm, and they are killed, they always remember those lives always.”
Nathan looked incredulous, “What do you mean?”
Kane responded, “They remember each and every death they have had.”
