Love after Divorce

101: Emily and Her Plan

Ch. 101 / 127 Apr 15, 2026

Narrator: Emily

I've talked to Paige, and I can tell she's sad and distracted, more thoughtful than before. She's probably feeling this way because of Simba. She insists that everything is fine and that she's planning a trip to see us. That's good; I miss her, even though it hasn't been long since she left.

As for my investigation, everything is going great. I haven't found any evidence yet, but my suspicions are becoming more certain.

The wedding is all set. My son is not thrilled about getting married, but I don't want to reveal my plans to him because he won't agree. My husband mentioned the idea of signing a prenuptial agreement to him, something he didn't take well. Although after explaining to him how much money we have and that we're entrusting our entire fortune to him, he agreed on the condition that we won't give half to his new wife.

I can't even imagine how Peyton will react when she finds out about this.

The wedding is not real; it's all a show to make that woman believe she's married to my son. I'm certain she was quite angry about the prenuptial agreement we asked for, well, my husband asked Mason for it. I have everything calculated coldly.

That woman is pregnant, but not with my son's child, and that's what bothers me the most. She wants to deceive us, pretending to love Mason when all she cares about is his money. My husband is unaware of this truth, in fact, no one knows it, and I won't reveal it until I have the testimony of the real father of that baby. The worst part is that I can't even be sure who it is; this woman continues to surprise me with what I discover and confirm about her life and her true nature.

I have had assistance in this, and those people maintain the same silence as I do. We are all keeping the secret so that she is not forewarned and tries to find a way to escape unharmed by convincing my son that everything we have discovered is false.

What angers me the most, because "annoyed" or "angry" fall short in comparison to what I feel, is that she destroyed such a beautiful and sincere love between Paige and Mason. They deserve to be happy and be together. That harpy, because there's no other name for her, planned everything because when Mason returned from his trip, he didn't want to continue with her. She manipulated that pregnancy from goodness knows who, as there are two potential fathers, so that my son would feel guilty and stay by her side, giving her what she has always sought in life: money and wealth.

A few days ago, I contacted Peyton's parents. She has no idea about this, and she won't know until the right time comes. The mother knows what her daughter is like and painfully recognizes in her eyes that she is not a good person, although she doesn't understand the reasons behind her thinking. They are humble and kind-hearted people. On the other hand, her father is blinded by the love he feels for his daughter. He says it's impossible for her to lie about a pregnancy and doesn't believe she could do something like that. He got upset with me when I went to see them just to "tell lies" about their daughter. I feared that he would tell Peyton about my visit. Her mother, a very beautiful and kind woman, promised me that wouldn't be possible because after she left their home, she stopped calling and keeping in touch with them. She told them not to embarrass her and to stay away from her.

This girl is wicked, cruel, and heartless, not even towards her own parents. What kind of mother will she be to her son? Just the thought of it gives me chills for the poor baby growing inside her. It's so true that you never really know people.

At first, I felt like a terrible person for pretending to be friends and show affection towards a woman who only provokes anger in me. But once I started to see her true face, I didn't feel any remorse. She doesn't deserve any consideration for being such a terrible person. She doesn't deserve to get what she has always wanted.

I'm aware that she had something with her neighbor, more than just friends, and I believe they still do. This man has tried to get her to marry him instead of Mason, but she's stubborn, claiming that my son is the love of her life. Although I think the correct way to say it is, "Mason's fortune is the love of my life." Because while that man has money, he has never shown it. On the contrary, he has more than us, and Peyton doesn't know that.

He has never liked showing off his wealth, and that's why that harpy looks down on him. He might be the father of that woman's child, although I'm also aware that our "doctor" does more than just examine his patients during consultations. I'm trying to buy his silence in exchange for a DNA test to confirm that my son is not the father of that baby.

It's quite difficult to buy someone like him. A doctor with professional ethics would refuse immediately to do something like that, especially when the patient is unaware of it. However, this doctor knows that I have a lot of money, and if I manage to find any of those women, except Peyton, of course, and they testify that they had an intimate encounter with him during their consultation, his world will crumble. His wife has money, and that's why he's still married to her. Well, the latter is just rumors that the same patients have told me when they went for their check-ups with this doctor.

I'm juggling many things at once, and I hope everything gets resolved as soon as possible. It hurts to see my daughter, Paige, sad because of a damn woman without scruples who will do anything and hurt anyone to get what she wants.

I have a medical appointment with our doctor tomorrow, so I hope that during this visit, I can subtly hint at a "job" that is very well paid and that I need him to do.
