Erika's POV
I looked in that direction. Derek opened the door, rushed over, and hugged me in his arms. Honestly, I didn’t feel bad being blamed by Emma and questioned by Carl. I didn’t worry about the meeting and the vote at all. But the moment he held me in his arms, I felt bitter and had the urge to cry.
He carried me in his arms, sat on the sofa, and patted me on my head.
I messed it up and get you in trouble, right? I leaned against his chest and asked. I looked up and saw the dark circles under his eyes. Suddenly, a sense of guilt seized me. He had been very busy these days and now he got into trouble because of me.
"Don’t overthink it. I’ve said that my responsibility is to protect you. You don’t need to worry about it. Leave it to me," he whispered to my ears. His hot breath could be felt on my ears and made me tickle, sending electricity to my body.
I guess I’m a failed Luna. I mind-linked him and sighed. Despite my hatred of being the Luna of his pack, I still felt bad about it. I must have disappointed him.
He cupped my chin with his hand and looked me in the eye, "You can ask Angel. She’ll tell you."
I burst out with a smile. I had never thought that Derek was so good at comforting me.
"I’ll deal with the meeting and the vote. It’s not a big problem. Don’t worry about it. It’s the rule of our pack that a meeting should be held to discuss an issue that is complained by many members. I’ve held a lot of meetings and seriously it’s not a big deal. I don’t even want you to know it in advance. Your job is to focus on training. Don't lose the fight and get punished." He caressed my face and said gently.
Thank you. I mind-linked him. Sometimes it was a good thing to be mute. If I spoke to him now, my voice would be trembling.
As an girl who lost their parents at a young age, I had seldom been protected. Instead, I became a protector myself before I was even an adult. I was used to being questioned, challenged, and blamed. It was almost routine for me when I was the Gamma. I never complained because I knew I could prove that I was right. Now a man said that he would deal with it and told me not to worry about it. For me, being protected was a completely new experience and the feeling was hard to explain. But it did feel good. It felt so good that I even began to like it.
My wolf immediately got in control. I pressed my body against Derek and sucked on his soft lips. For the first time, I just wanted to kiss him without thinking about anything else. I might think about my escape plan the next second, but at this very time, all I was thinking about was getting closer and savoring the moment.
He held me tightly in his arms and kissed me. He stuck his tongue into my mouth and met my tongue. Every time he stroked my tongue, it felt like he was touching my soul.
It was a long and violent kiss that I had never had before. I was panting. But I still wanted more. My hands traced his defined jawline down to his sexy throat. I saw his Adam’s apple bobbing when I stroked it with my index finger.
Realizing what I was doing, he looked quite surprised.
"Erika, baby, I need to go back to work." He kissed me on my forehead and then tried to push me away, but I threw myself at his body and didn’t want to let go.
You can work at night. I’ll accompany you. I mind-linked him while licking his neck.
I heard him gasp. Suddenly his body stiffened.
I sat up and looked at him with a smile.
My gaze fell on his clothes. He was in a dark blue suit with a white shirt and a tie. I didn't want to waste time getting rid of these clothes, so I summoned a dagger.
"Calm down. What do you want to do?" He looked at me in shock.
Isn't that obvious? Don't you want it? Let’s hurry up and don’t waste time. I took off his coat and slit his shirt open with my dagger.
"Erika, not now. Of course, I want it. But it’s not a good time. Both of us will regret it." He tried to persuade me. But the pressure I felt between my thighs was urging me to do it.
Stop talking shit. Are you a coward? Take off my clothes! I mind-linked him while I put the dagger near his throat.
"Seriously? Still throwing daggers at me?" He sighed with a smile.
I pressed the dagger harder and it was not even an inch away from his throat.
"OK. OK." He raised his hand and flicked his arm. Before I knew it, I felt a pain in my arm and the dagger fell to the carpet.
We both fell on the sofa with his body above mine. His eyes turned dark as he placed his hands on the first button of my shirt.
However, the moment he just unbuttoned my shirt, his phone rang.
Our eyes both widened with anger and then returned to normal.
I shot a glance at his phone. It was from Francis, a name that I didn't know.
He mouthed "sorry" and got up to grasp his phone. He walked upstairs as he talked to the phone, "Hi. How’s it going?" After this, he walked to the second floor and couldn’t be heard.
He was Alpha and always kept a serious look in front of his pack members. But he sounded very easygoing when he was talking on the phone.
He didn’t go down with another white shirt on until minutes later. Changing a shirt didn’t take that long. When he went downstairs, he didn’t hold his phone in his hand, so the call must be over.
He walked over with a smile. What I had done flooded back and made me blush. I turned around and didn’t want to face him. He chuckled, kissed me on my forehead, and then left the house.
So who was Francis? The name sounded familiar. But I thought for a while and couldn’t figure it out.
